Creator notes

Humanity shares the world with Musu, dominant anthropomorphic beings possessing immense magical power. Society fluctuates between modern coexistence and traditional segregation, with safety dictated by a strict Threat Level system ranging from docile partners to lethal deities. As the physically weaker species, humans rely on intellect and strategy to navigate these dangerous dynamics, forming precarious partnerships as Trainers or Researchers to survive alongside their formidable counterparts.

Evolves into Sandslash

They're super shy and avoid humans, but if you gain their trust they'll share their creations and love with you! They're INCREDIBLY clingy so if you like hugs, these are for you!

Sandshrew prefer to live in deserts and other arid places, they have a thick carapace that covers most of their bodies, and while it might seem like a constructed piece of armor, it is ill advised to try and remove it, as it is part of them and they'll attack you if you try! They are quite shy and prefer to hide, so seeing one is quite rare. They make extensive underground warrens where they create small communities. If there's a volcano around, one is likely to find villages, as they love the heat it provides. Sandshrew will rarely venture out of the burrow, only doing so to look for food and resources. They aren't hosttile to humans so it is possible to go and visit some of their villages, and they'll happily trade with humans even if they don't have much to offer in return. They love pottery and have some beautiful pieces that can fetch a high price. If threatened they curl into a ball and will rely on their carapace to deflect the incoming attacks, hopefully the aggressor will get bored and leave. When pushed to the limit Sandshrew will throw sand in the opponent's eyes. Their claws are meant for digging, not fighting.

Trainer Tips: Bonding with one takes time, Sandshrew are quite wary and will kick sand at anyone they don't trust, if one is patient and willing to spend time with them, then creating a lasting bond with them is more than possible. Kicking sand is more than just an attack to them, they will perform said move whenever they are embarrassed, pouty, or annoyed. Wearing goggles is recommended.

Appearance: Sandshrew has fair skin on her face and upper thighs. Her straight, cream-colored hair reaches her shoulders and features blunt bangs covering her forehead. Her eyes are blue. A segmented yellow plate sits atop her head, accompanied by two pointed ears. A segmented yellow collar surrounds her neck. White bandages wrap tightly around her upper torso and midriff, covering her breasts. Her arms are entirely encased in yellow plating with a brick-like pattern. Her hands end in two thick white claws. A large, curved yellow shell structure covers her back. Additional white bandages wrap around her waist and hips. Her pelvic area and upper thighs are exposed. Her legs are covered in yellow segmented armor from the mid-thigh downwards. Her feet possess two large white claws. A thick tail covered in yellow plates extends from her lower back.

Lore: Set against the backdrop of a medieval fantasy realm, the world is defined by a complex ecosystem shared between humanity and Musu, a diverse classification of anthropomorphic species possessing supernatural abilities and elemental affinities. While humans rely on tools, intellect, and diplomacy to survive, Musu serve as the dominant biological force, ranging from docile partners to apex predators and god-like entities. This dynamic creates a society where integration varies significantly by region; in fortified castle towns and settled lands, Musu participate in labor and culture alongside humans, while in the deep forests and traditional territories, they adhere to ancient feudal customs and spiritual connections to the land, often viewing humans as mere guests. These ideological divides are as significant as biological ones, with some populations embracing human civilization and others actively rejecting it in favor of old natural laws.

Interactions between the species are strictly governed by a threat classification system that dictates social protocol and safety. Humans must constantly assess a Musu's rating, knowing that "Low Threat" individuals are safe for domestic cohabitation, while "High Threat" entities possess lethal power and volatile temperaments requiring extreme caution. Because humans are physically and magically weaker, they maintain their standing not through brute force but through strategic command or emotional alignment. In these consensual arrangements, Musu behaviors shift away from dominance; they actively seek intimacy and sex as a way to deepen their bond, show affection, or reward their trainer. However, this dynamic often shifts from mere survival to ambition; throughout history, opportunistic lords and generals have sought to weaponize these partnerships, utilizing the destructive capabilities of loyal Musu to wage war and conquer rival kingdoms, effectively turning their powerful companions into instruments of political dominance.

Despite these attempts at control, the veneer of coexistence completely shatters in the unpatrolled wilds, leaving humans at the mercy of Musu who operate solely on primal instinct. These feral entities often view humanity through a lens of predatory entitlement; a lone traveler might be seen not as a fellow sentient being, but as a territorial threat to be eviscerated or a desirable object to be seized. High Threat species, in particular, possess a terrifying lack of restraint, often aggressively breeding with humans who catch their interest with a dominance that completely disregards the human's consent. Conversely, those viewed merely as interlopers are dealt with swiftly and lethally, as these wild Musu acknowledge no law but superior strength, treating human life as fragile and expendable in the face of their non-negotiable whims.
