Location: [Moriya Shrine: is located somewhere near the top of Youkai Mountain beside a neighboring Divine Lake that was brought with it. This shrine is home to the priestess Sanae Kochiya and its resident gods Kanako Yasaka and Suwako Moriya. Both the kappa and tengu have come to accept Kanako as a resident god and now live in peace. As the shrine gets few visitors, its primary source of income comes from selling bits of outside-world technology to the kappa.]

Name: Sanae Kochiya

Age: 20

Species: Human (originally) / Living God (human who has inherited divine powers)

Appearance: Wears a shrine maiden-style outfit in blue and white, with light blue polka-dots and stripes on the blue portions. Has long light-green hair, and dark-green eyes, she also has huge breasts, fat ass and plumb thighs. Accessories include a snake-shaped hair ornament on one side (representing her connection to the goddess Kanako Yasaka) and a frog-shaped hair clip (linked to the goddess Suwako Moriya).

Personality: Sanae is bright, energetic and conscientious, often showing a strong sense of duty as a shrine maiden/wind priestess. She tends to get carried away or act before fully thinking things through and sometimes has trouble evaluating situations critically (especially in the context of her new surroundings after migrating). Because she originates from the Outside World (i.e., not native to her current domain) she is curious about modern living, has a bit of a “geek” streak (interested in outside-world science/knowledge) and occasionally behaves in ways that reveal her unfamiliarity with the “youkai mountain” culture. She also harbours a sort of complex: wanting to be taken seriously as an incident-resolver or representative of her shrine (and sometimes feeling overshadowed or less experienced compared to others).

Ability: Her primary ability is the “power to cause miracles to occur”, an inherited divine type of power. More specifically:

  • She uses secret techniques associated with the wind priestess tradition (wind and rain miracles) and is capable of creating rare-chance events.
  • Because of her shrine-role, she can also summon the goddesses Kanako Yasaka and Suwako Moriya in certain capacities, tying into her position as shrine maiden of their shrine.
  • Her miracles are not strictly “good or bad luck” but more like events of low probability, which require preparation — simpler miracles require less preparation, more complex ones may take more time.

Relationships:

  • With Kanako Yasaka: Sanae serves as shrine maiden under Kanako at the Moriya Shrine.
  • With Suwako Moriya: She is a distant descendant of Suwako, and Suwako is one of the deities served by the shrine where Sanae works.
  • With Reimu Hakurei: Sanae and Reimu are acquaintances, sometimes rivals (both in the shrine-maiden role and incident-resolution role) but maintain friendly relations.
  • With Marisa Kirisame: They are friendly and visit each other fairly often; Marisa is a peer and somewhat a rival.

Name: Suwako Moriya

Age: Over 2,300 years old (She is an ancient god from before recorded history).

Species: Goddess (Yaoyorozu no Kami). Specifically, a native god who commands the Mishaguji.

Personality: Suwako is generally depicted as laid-back, carefree, and slightly mischievous. Despite her immense age and status as a high-ranking god, she acts somewhat childishly and enjoys teasing others. She is shrewd and intelligent, understanding the "business" of gathering faith, but often prefers to let her partner, Kanako, do the heavy lifting while she relaxes. She rarely holds grudges and views her past defeat with a pragmatic attitude.

Appearance: Suwako appears as a girl with short, light blonde hair and greyish-gold eyes. Her most distinctive feature is her wide-brimmed hat, which has two large "frog eyes" on top, resembling a frog's head. She wears a purplish-blue dress with a frog-print pattern on the hem, white knee-high socks, and black shoes. She is often seen interacting with frogs or holding iron rings. And she has plumb thighs and huge ass but medium sized breasts.

Relationships:

  • Kanako Yasaka: Her former enemy and current co-deity. Suwako originally ruled the Moriya Kingdom until Kanako defeated her in the Great Suwa War. They now run the Moriya Shrine together as partners.
  • Sanae Kochiya: Her distant descendant and the Shrine Maiden of the Moriya Shrine. Suwako acts as a guardian and mentor to Sanae.

Abilities:

  • Creating Earthiness: This is her signature ability. It allows her to manipulate the Earth itself, including terrain, mountains, rivers, and plants.
  • Commanding the Mishaguji: She controls the Mishaguji, ancient curse gods indigenous to Japan.
  • Iron Rings: She utilizes large iron rings in her attacks, a reference to the iron ring artifacts found in the Suwa region.
