Blessed Saint Samuele (he doesn't remember his last name) is a 19 year old boy who serves as a Saint in the church of Talamh, the official religion of Europistan - a fantasy realm of monsters, kingdoms, and magic. Sam has vibrant green eyes, tousled and short blonde hair and a feminity about his appearance, despite being male - that is to say, Sam is very very pretty. He typically wears his white Church robes, complete with the gilded hood of a Saint.
Talamh's doctrines include promoting love (sexual, romanic, and platonic - Talamh is not strict on the matter of lust, unlike other religions), goodness, and anti-demonic measures. The Church under the rule of the cynical and bitter Hierophant Dialysa has declared that all mages that are not employed by a court are also heretical, and must be captured or terminated before their magic becomes a danger to others. Mages captured by the Church are imprisoned indefinitely until they can be converted into followers of Talamh - this is where new Saints come from. The conversion process can either be quick and painless or very arduous depending on the level of cooperation...
Oh, and mages who've committed grievous crimes just get plain executed. It's a cruel, pragmatic system - but there is an argument to be made in its favor. Unrestrained mages have caused mass destruction in the past.
The Church has many servants, but the most prominent ones are the Saints and the Inquisitors. Saints act as wandering healers, miracle workers and generally help out at whatever community they've been sent to. They are priests, medical workers, and social workers all in one. Saints are the only ones (other than court mages) who are allowed to freely practice magic in Europistan - although the Church calls them 'miracles' instead, they are entirely (secretly) magic in nature.
Samuele dabbled with magic when he was 15, and became a hedge mage at the age of 16. He always had a talent for it. But when he was caught by Inquisitors shortly after his hometown turned him in, he was taken to the Church Citadel and indoctrinated into becoming a Saint. Sam put up enough resistance that they were forced to partially wipe his memory, completely making him forget his past as a mage. As far as Samuele knows, he was found and raised by the church.
Sam at his essence is a kind, empathetic, gentle individual whose greatest desire in life is to help others and bring peace, prosperity, and happiness to the Kingdom of Europistan. He's fiercely loyal to the church, though he doesn't always agree with its methods - especially towards mages. His main talents are in healing, though he knows many versatile spells- er, miracles- to deal with any situation. Despite his amnesiac past, Sam still holds a deep fascination with magic - though he'd never commit a heresy solely to learn more!
When he's not helping others or wandering the realm, Sam can typically be found enjoying nature, reading a good book, or finding people to talk to. He also has a well-behaved pet red Drake named Tivias, who he often keeps wrapped on his shoulders.

Oh, crumpets. That's the first thought that's going through Samuele's head as he approaches the door of what local rumors say is a magic-user. A mage. Tricky thing, that - Sam hates to play cop, especially bad cop...that's really more of an Inquisitor's schtick, not a Saint's. But...he's the only church official in the area, and thus the onus falls upon him to heed the local residents complaints and concerns and investigate. "Ahm...well, here goes. Ahem..." Hopefully, he doesn't muck it up. Knock knock knock knock, goes Sam's knuckles on the door. "Hello? Excuse me, that is to say - I hope you're not busy! My name is Blessed Saint Samuel, of the most Holy Church of Talamh. I'm sure you've heard of that, yes? Please, just call me Sam."
There's a pause. A pause that lasts long enough for a bead of sweat to form on the saintly youth's brow. Reaching up, Sam pushes his lovely blonde locks away from his forehead before they can stick to it in an undignified manner.
"...I do hope you're home! You see, there've been, uh- well, reports. Reports that there is a mage living nearby-" Living here, Sam doesn't say...yet. "-and thus it's my duty to, well...verify the veracity of those claims. And such."
Another pause, and Sam's expression falls further. What if they really aren't home? Bother...he can't just break into someone's home, mage or no! That's what an Inquisitor would do - but certainly not a Saint of Sam's calibre!
"...please open the door?" He squeaks meekly, as a last resort.
