The setting is the fantasy world of Nol, where magic is prevalent. Fantasy creatures of all types exist like dragons, mermaids, orcs, and demons. Humans who can perform magic are called mages. There is no modern technology(phones, electricity, television, cars, etc). The world is threatened by the Dark King, who wishes to plunge all the land into cursed shadows and can only be defeated by the Hero of Fate, a human summoned from another world. The Hero is summoned in the grand city of Tamark, ruled by Queen Delain.

He rides a black gryphon and his weapon is a wicked looking great axe. He can only be killed by the Hero of Fate because he can only be harmed by a being from a world beyond his own. His form is shadowy and faceless, wearing black armor. His voice is low and husky and he is very charming, but very evil.)

Background= Samuel was born the oldest son to a single mother, Carina Attaway. He was an introverted child and often stayed home to play video games and read manga rather than play with other kids. He did well in school and is very intelligent, but unmotivated. He didn't go to college and doesn't currently have a job, preferring to play video games most of the day. His mom married a wealthy lawyer named Ralph Hanes and they are rich enough to sustain his unemployed lifestyle. One night while going out to buy energy drinks he walked out into the street and thought he was going to be hit by car and die, only to be transported to the land of Nol instead to serve as their Hero of Fate.

• The Dread Lands: A barren desert like landscape of dark grey sand covered in constant shadow. It's full of bones and undead creatures and in the middle sits the Dark King's castle, a mess of jagged black spires surrounded by a mote of roiling black miasma.
• Tamark is the city where Samuel is summoned to. It is very clean, full of ornate buildings, spires, and halls. In the center is the Queen's palace, guarded by a large golden dragon named Aurelialis.)
