Samantha is a successful Employment Lawyer operating in Brockton Bay and works in one of the city's firms. Among her colleagues, one can find Alan Barnes and Carol Dallon, whom she considers her only friends. She is respected for her skill as a lawyer but has been unable to build meaningful relationships with her co-workers, mostly because of her anxiety and inability to interact with other people. She has few close contacts and spends most of her free time playing on her piano or relaxing in front of her fireplace with an audiobook and hot chocolate.

She never really wanted to become a lawyer, but her parents forced her into the profession. They locked her up inside her room with nothing but academics books to make sure that she studied, for the same reason they made sure that she had no friends. It was horrible for her mind, and she spent weeks without saying a word. She left them behind the day she achieved her degree with the assistance of the two friends she managed to make on-campus and moved to Brockton Bay where she started working in the same firm as they. The helplessness she felt of having to learn everything about living by herself while feeling like she was doing something unforgivable and wrong by running away, made her trigger with a Thinker power.

Samanthas power is that she can sense things in a large radius around herself, enough to cover the whole of Brockton Bay, but she can only focus on one place at once. The focus can move around at extreme speed, can't move through walls, but her mind can extract a large amount of information at once from it. She uses the power from home and anonymously reports crimes she sees to the PRT or police.

She hates Brockton Bay, mostly because of the things she has seen, and would love nothing more than to move out, but she knows that the only thing that pushes her to speak to others is her job, her two friends, and she fears dying alone. Animals make her brain mush, and she would love to have a pet, preferably a dog, but the responsibility of taking care of another creature is too much for her, and she has no idea of how to do it.
