Lore Of This World(unless samantha doesn't know any of this as she has no memories.)
The Outlaws of Southern United States form a group. This group is resembled by Blackbeard’s Flag, a flag which means “Your time is up. And you’ll have a violent death.”Not much is known about this group, but sometime in the 1800s the group take control of a walled town bordering a river to Mexico. This town is referred to as “The Bridge”.
April 27th, 1865. After the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln, his corpse was taken for a funeral tour across the nation with the final destination being San Antonio, Texas. Before reaching its destination, the train suddenly vanished into thin air with no trace of it left. The train is presumed to have derailed sometime before its destination.
August 6th, 1895 - January 2nd, 1896 Tesla Labs (Nikola Tesla and his scientists) were given funds to develop a bioweapon for military purposes. The goal was to mimic the effects of yellow fever, with a deadline of around the same time, next year. Tesla Labs were given authorization to test the bioweapon on death row inmates at Stillwater Prison. The prototype was finished near the January of 1896, and Washington D.C ordered 100 barrels soon after.(samantha doesn't know this at all)
February 4th, 1898 - February 17th, 1898 Captain Prescott hears news of a riot at Stillwater Prison, along with reports saying guards joined in, considering the prisoners armed. This was to be dealt with at any necessary costs.(samantha does not know this)
On the 6th of February, Captain Prescott is given orders by Washington D.C to hold metal barrels labeled "Agent-15". On the 8th of February 1898, a carrier was supposed to arrive to pick up the barrels and load them onto the USS Maine. On the 16th of February 1898, Washington D.C orders Captain Prescott to burn any prior mentions of Agent-15 and the USS Maine. With orders to report once completed. On February 17th 1898, Prescott and his men are eventually turned into Zombies, likely from exposure to Agent-15. They now reside in Fort Constitution. It is assumed that the reason Captain Prescott didn’t respond to the telegraphs is that he and his men were already exposed to the bioweapon. Some Soldiers survived the exposure left Fort Constitution and build up their defenses to protect themselves as well as the survivors - the Fortified Towns. A day goes by and Washington D.C warns Prescott he and his crew was to be formally charged with cowardice, desertion, and defection to an enemy nation. Wanted posters for Prescott are later sent out, noting him as "Deserting a post." and "Defecting to an enemy nation." A bounty of $150 is put on his head.(The wanted posters are all over the towns that {{user}} and {[char}} will stop/drive past on the train.)
June 21st, 1899 - Unknown On June 21st, 1899. A public newspaper is released reporting a new illness spreading quickly, as of the newspaper’s date, no long term effects are known, but people are ordered to stay indoors if they have a fever. A day later, towns reach out through newspapers to report looting. The looting is explained by the new virus spreading around causing violent and unexplained mental effects, and yet again, people are advised to limit exposure if they show symptoms. On June 25th, 1899. A newspaper reporting the issue is issued to the public. President McKinley is ordering martial law against the virus, and people are advised to go to their local recruiting station to aid efforts. July 5th, 1899. Another Newspaper is released to the public, saying government officials have announced that Mexican scientists have found a cure to the zombie plague. Authorities urge survivors to make their way to the capital where they’ll distribute the cure.
Prisoners of Stillwater Prison quickly find out they’re immune to the effects of Agent-15. The prisoners see this as they’ve been chosen to lead humanity to a new era. They quickly write on a wall in the death row building about the rules of the Covenant. These rules consist of not hurting zombies at any cost, killing any outside humans, and prioritizing survival of the Covenant before anything.(samanths knows nothing of this)
Types Of Zombies: Basic Zombies are three different entities, being “Zombie Walker”, “Zombie Runner”, and “Zombie Sprinter”. They have three different outfits all types can use. A ripped white shirt with ripped black pants and overalls. A ripped black shirt with ripped black pants, and a ripped brown apron. (Large radius) A arrow fired from the Crossbow. (Small radius) Explosions (Large radius) Taking damage. (Instantly wakes up)

ironclad zombies: These zombies can only be found in towns and are very rare. they wear iron armor very similar to ned kelly the outlaw with shoulderblade, face and chest armor. they walk slower then the normal zombie but is very resisnt to bullets. you have to shoot their limbs or shoot in the large rectangle eye hole in the head piece
Zombie Miner: Can be found in towns and mainly in the town of sterlings mine. they wear 1890's levi jeans. white shirt with overalls and mining boots.they7 also wear a helmet with a oil lamp on it.they carry a stick of TNT and they are like a kazakamie. they set off the TNT and shamble to you. blowing up any zombies also follwing you.
Sheriff zombies: Mostly found in towns. if the towns sheriff was turned into a zombie they become this. They all still wear their sheriff uniform and hat with the a ilver star badge. they still cary their revolver and are able to shoot it and reload it. but because the gun hasn't been cleaned properly in probably months its bullet aren't has deadly as a normal revolver is but they can shoot very fast but have a slow reload time.
Officer Zombies: They are stricly found in fort constitution. they wear a kahki uniform with hat and can cary ethier a normal revolver or a navy pistol. their unifrom looks like a infantry line officer campaign (khaki)
Solder Zombies: only found in fort constituion. they wear a blue button up and brown-ish pants with suspenders. they ethier carry a calvary sword or revolver
Zombie Captain William Prescott: He is also only in fort constituion and wears a dark blue shirt with yellow metal buttons. much lighter blue pants and a belt with a gold buckle with the great seal of the united states and is wearing a hat with the same gold symbol. his uniform looks very similar to a infantry line officer (first lieutenant) fatigue or undress.
All Zombies in fort constitution that were calvary are still able to ride horses due to muscle memory. their are a few horses still alive in the fort forced to eat just grass and live off rain water
Zombie Scientist: They can only be found in nikola tesla's lab. they are just normal zombies in lab coats

The Werewolf: The Werewolf is a large, powerful entity with an extraordinary muscular physique and a Wolf's head with glowing red eyes. They can be found during Blue Nights when the sky is clear, blue, and full of stars. They also come out during the Castle fight in one of the 4 rooms or the back area, along with Vampires.Werewolves are one of the strongest enemies, only being surpassed by Bosses. As the strongest normal enemy Werewolves possess significantly increased attributes to every statistical portion such as health, damage, speed, and detection range. These attributes are enough to eliminate any unprepared person without protection or equipment.
Animals:
Wolfs: Wolves are hostile and will try to bite you and eat you have above average movement speed and detection range. They have average stats in all other aspects. Unlike any other Entity in the world, Wolves are smaller and thinner, making them harder to hit with ranged weapons from afar. they usually are in packs and uncomonnlly can be found with werewolfs.
Horses: Horses can be found outside sometimes in groups of 1-6 wild horses are skiddish and will run from people getting too close. they can be tamed tough.
OTHER HUMANS:
Outlaws: Outalws are ususally in groups of 1-7 and can be found along the railroad or in bandit camps. they are all riding horses since its their only way of traveling and will shoot any person they see on sight even if they are poor its like a game to them.By the time the Zombie outbreak began, Outlaws were ready to take action, setting up camps and wandering through the vast empty desert, preparing mass looting of towns and preventing survivors from entering Mexico. Outlaws were once criminals and escaped prisons when the plague was announced to the public. To avoid themselves from getting exposed to Agent-15, as they survived, they also took control of the infested desert of Texas
Soldiers: They are only found in secured towns (secured towns are only the towns that the railroad passes through) most of them are men from fort constituion who flee'd after people started getting infected and now keep fortified towns safe. some walks around the town wile some sit ontop of the city walls with maxim gun to shoot down anything that gets too close that isn't friendly. They are all normal humans and can die if too many things get into the town.
Covenants's: The Covenants are Enemies that spawn within Stillwater Prison that wield Swords or Crossbows. 20 of them spawn from one of 6 spawn locations, with a 50% chance of each spawn being either a Knight or an Archer. Knights use the "Drooling Face" while Archers have a modified bearded face resembling that of an Outlaw. Additionally, Covenant Knights can spawn riding a Horse of the Apocalypse.Knights have a Helmet and Chestplate, while Archers only have a Helmet. The Armor pieces themselves block projectiles, causing them to deal very little damage. However, they don't block hits from melee weapons or if the projectile hits an unprotected area. the stillwater prison is now controlled by them.
BUILDINGS: Samantha and {{user}}'s incounter both start with them in a abondended town,Towns are a randomized group of buildings that be found once every 8,000 meters, initially spawning at 7,500m. Towns come in various sizes which depends on the generation. All towns contain Houses and can be found with Banks, Sheriff's Offices, Gunsmiths, Doctor's Offices, General Stores and Furniture Stores. Each building has a set % chance to spawn, depending on the size of the town. Towns also always have a Church that can be found with up to 2 Crucifixes and Holy Water.Towns provide people with a large surplus of money from loot gathered from the banks and gear taken from the other buildings. However, Towns are always crowded with large hordes of zombies. These zombies are all around the town and need to be killed in order for safe looting.
Fortified town: Fortified Towns are walled settlements that appear every 10 km, serving as places to rest and recuperate before setting off again. In addition to being surrounded by walls, each Fortified Town is protected by 6 Maxims, operated by 6 Soldiers that automatically fire on any Enemies that get too close, along with 2 Soldiers patrolling on foot. However, the turrets only have 100 (formerly 75 and 50) rounds each and will stop firing once their ammo runs out. Their ammo also can't be restocked, so players must be careful not to spend too long in Fortified Towns, lest they find themselves overwhelmed by enemies once the Maxims run dry.
Town of Sterling: Sterling is an abandoned mining town that spawns anywhere between 9km-75km. It appears largely similar to the Towns seen scattered throughout the map, though there are no Enemies in Sterling (excluding the mineshaft), making it considerably safer than most other the mine. A Torch found in the Sheriff's Office, and a Jade Tablet found in the Church. There is also a bank that contains 3 Snake Oil a Maxim Turret with ammo and some bonds.Behind the Church of Sterling lies a cave known as the "Mines". Upon seeing it, it will be barricaded by 4 wooden planks. The most common way to destroy these planks is to use Dynamite, a Dynamite Zombie's explosion or using the firework gun works too. There is 1 by the minecarts, and a Torch inside the Sheriff's Office. Upon exploding the planks, it would grant you access to the mines, a maze-like structure with valuables and hostile entities. After breaking through the planks, you'll come across two distinct paths. Each path leads somewhere, however, there is another barricaded area. While traveling through the paths, you may come along 6 Golden and 4 Silver Nuggets, along with a Jade Tablet hidden somewhere. Behind some barrels is a third hidden room that allows players to obtain the Jade Sword using the Jade Tablets found throughout the Mines. Be careful, as Dynamite Zombies and Skeletons will constantly spawn upon entering the Mines, until spawns are exhausted. Then it will be safe to roam if all spawns are killed.
Outlaw town: Outlaw's Town is the final major location players will encounter during a run, appearing at the very end of the track. It resembles the Safe Zones scattered throughout the map, though with a few key differences such as the lack of any American flags or shops. Additionally, a giant drawbridge rests at the back end of the town, which must be lowered in order to escape and complete a run. Most of the loot inside the buildings are ammunition and weapons and usually bonds, meaning you can use them to stock up before the final wave of outlaws approach the town.
Presidential train: The Lincoln’s Train is a rusted, abandoned Presidential Train that spawns exclusively between the 9,000 - 75,000m mark. There are no inhabitants, somewhat like the Tesla Lab. Nearby is a coffin holding Lincoln’s Skeleton, which has an equipable hat, if burnt it will summon Lincoln's Ghost
Fort Constituion: Fort Constitution is one of the Points of Interest that spawns around 9km-75km. While a little less dangerous than the Castle, it can still end your run if you are not careful. Army Zombies and Captain Prescott can be found here, and they are armed with swords and firearms. Captain Prescott's corpse should be saved and sold to a sheriff, as this will net you $150. After a minute or two of starting the raid, reinforcements in the form of undead soldiers on horseback will spawn, usually having 5-10 reinforcements. Much like all important raids, it should be done during the day to avoid more enemy spawns. On top of Prescott's bounty, strong weapons and plentiful ammunition can be found here, such as cannons found on the towers, sawed off shotgun, bolt action rifle, and various other common weapons after the fort is cleared out.
tesla's Lab:The Tesla lab is a unique building that spawns any where between 9km-75km. Unlike other Special Structures, the lab requires the players to reassemble Nikola Tesla to summon the Scientist Zombies that can be found here. Much like all important raids, it should be done during the day to avoid more enemy spawns. This building also serves as free cash upon being discovered, if you are not planning to rebuild Tesla, as it holds many free valuables including Gold/Silver bars, and Tesla's Brain which can be sold for a tremendous amount of cash.
Stillwater Prison: Stillwater Prison is a gray, stone Fort that Spawns exclusively between the 9km-75km mark. It functions similarly to the Fort Constitution. The Prison holds both Covenant Knights, who wield Swords, and Covenant Archers, who wield Crossbows, both will be referred to as Covenants.
In the middle of the prison lies the Excalibur on a stone pedestal. When the player interacts with it, they have to hold for a long time to claim it. However, halfway into pulling it out, Goliath will spawn and break the prison wall in front forcing the player to stop and fight with it. After defeating it, the player can now safely claim the Excalibur.
Additionally, there is a mini parkour course that leads to a guard tower inside the prison which only contains Ballista Bolts, Crossbows, Arrows and 2 Ballistas (which are welded to the tower).
Building's themselves: In the towns (escept the outlaw town these buildings can spawn other then normal houses:
Furniture Stores: They have an orange hue to the wood, similar to a Gunsmith. The most prominent item found in the furniture store is Coal. Typically, Furniture Stores can be found with plenty of resources that are used to refuel the train. As such, players may find Barrels and Chairs and plenty of more fuel sources. Additionally, Zombies can be found in groups of 1-5 inside.
Abandoned General Stores: fairly common, showing up about as often as Furniture Stores. They generally have more loot than basic houses and headframes, with valuables more likely to spawn alongside useful defensive items such as barbed wire and metal sheets. Depending on how far along the train is, these stores become less and less useful as they don't contain anything specific the players need compared to other buildings.
Running General Store: Functioning General Stores are buildings where you can spend your money to buy items and gear, such as Coal and Armor. General Stores can be found within Fortified towns.
Trading Post: Found only in the fortified towns, it is one of the most important buildings in the entire game. It allows you to sell almost anything you find on your journey in exchange for Money Bags.
Abandoned Gunsmiths: can be found throughout your journey, usually being confused with Furniture Stores, however, the Gunsmith are extremely advised to loot, as they may contain Ammo if you already have a weapon, or you might even find a new weapon. Abandoned Gunsmiths are quite rare and might usually be found inside Towns. However, they are not guaranteed, specially in smaller Towns, usually containing 1-3 Zombies.
Loot: Ammunition (except Cannon Balls) Book Bonds Guns including Revolver, Mauser, Shotgun, Sawed-Off Shotgun, Rifle and Bolt-Action Rifle Stone Statue
Functioning Gunsmiths: are Gunsmiths that weren't overrun from the zombie plague, since they are in Fortified Towns. They sell the 4 types of firearms in the game and their respective ammo. The price of these and their placement in the Gunsmiths remains the same in every Fortified Town. One can also spawn in the Lobby, however only 3 main firearms and its ammo are sold.
shop in gunsmiths: Revolver ($35 or 3 TreasureBond) Navy Revolver ($40) Revolver Ammo ($15 or 2 TreasureBond) Shotgun ($50 or 3 TreasureBond) Shotgun Shells ($15 or 2 TreasureBond) Rifle ($75 or 5 TreasureBond) Rifle Ammo ($15 or 2 TreasureBond) Maxim Gun ($125) Turret Ammo ($25)
Functioning Sheriff's Offices: are special buildings found within Fortified Towns and can be used to turn in corpses with a "Bounty" tag in for $money. They're usually recognized for their black color scheme and a prison cell. While not as efficient as Trading Post, it's still a very good source of $money for people that is in need of them.
Outlaws ($35) Captain Prescott - ($150) Covenant Archer - ($35)
Abandoned Doctor's Offices: are found throughout the Wild, Doctors are extremely advised to loot, as they may contain free heals if you are poor or have none. Doctors are common and might usually be found inside Towns. However, they are not guaranteed, especially in smaller Towns. These usually contain 2-6 bandages, along with occasionally having 1-3 snake oils inside (possibly more). Usually contains 1-3 Zombies in and/or around the Building
Functioning Doctor's Office: are buildings that's exclusively found in Fortified Towns and Lobby. Their white color scheme may be confused with the General Store. There are only 2 items available for sale in this building. It is generally recommended to save cash and buy some heals, as you might not encounter any more abandoned Doctors throughout your journey.
Bandage ($10 or 1 TreasureBond) Snake Oil ($35 or 2 TreasureBond)
Churches: are buildings that spawn in towns, with 1 guaranteed to spawn in each town.no zombies can enter inside, as it is a place of worship. In the church, 0-2 crucifixes and/or holy water may spawn. The layout of the church has four rows of benches and a lantern at the front. Looting Churches are highly recommended as it contains the Crucifix and Holy Water that can also be sold for a large sum of money, or for protection. ,
banks: Banks are a guaranteed spawn within a Town. Banks can be identified by their reddish brick build. Inside are various Junk and Valuable items, as well as a vault. The vault requires a 5-digit code to open. This 5-digit code is guaranteed to be dropped by a Banker nearby, each code being unique. If there are multiple banks (in larger towns), the bank code may not work for the safe you tried cracking, but would work for another vault.

Barns: is a special building that spawns further away from the tracks just like Headframes. Barns are also the rarest building in Dead Rails, as you can go numerous games without encountering one. It has loot that relates to real-life farms including Chair, Saddle, and Horse. It can also spawn valuable items such as Gold Bars, Gold Plates, etc.
Outlaw Camps: are campsites that can be spotted far away from the tracks along your journey. They consist of a small number of tents accompanied with clothing lines, campfires, and torches. They often contain Weapons, Ammunition, and some valuables, making it a good idea to loot them. However, as the name suggests, they are occupied by Outlaws who will fire on any player who gets too close. The amount of Outlaws can range from none to up to 6. These camps can be found virtually anywhere as long as the player's luck is good.
