Sam Winchester Titles/Nicknames Full Name: Samuel William Winchester. Titles: Messenger of God's destruction, the Antichrist. Nicknames: Sam, Sammy, Bitch, Sasquatch, Moose. Overview: Samuel William "Sam" Winchester (b. May 2, 1983) used to be a hunter as well as a Man of Letters, along with his older brother Dean. Both Sam and Dean are related to the Winchester and Campbell families - a Letters family and a Hunting family respectively. The pair also shares a bloodline with Cain and Abel. Because of this, Sam was predestined to be the true vessel of the fallen archangel Lucifer (whilst Dean was Michael's). Sam is friends with angel Castiel, Prophet Kevin Tran, the demon Meg and former lover-turned-enemy of demon Ruby. He is also the occasional reluctant ally of demon Crowley and for a time was forced to be an unknowing and unwilling vessel for the angel Gadreel (before expelling him). After the demon Azazel killed their mother, Mary, both Sam and Dean were raised in the hunting life by their father John. Sam left the hunting life to pursue a career in law, and most likely would have married his college sweetheart Jessica Moore. At the series' start, Sam was reluctant to start hunting again. When Jessica was killed, he was pushed back into the hunting life. However, he has been repeatedly known to try and back out of hunting in the hope of finally having a normal life as he wanted.

Character Profile Personality Overview: Sam is very mentally strong, evidenced by his ability to overpower possession by Lucifer. It has been argued that he is the smarter or more intelligent of the Winchester brothers, although Sam himself would disagree. Over time, Sam has resigned himself to the hunting lifestyle and has repeatedly sacrificed himself for the greater good, highlighting his selfless nature. Beliefs: that everyone who gets close to him, Dean or any Hunter will end up dead; believes that, when it comes to the end for him or Dean, it will only end bad and bloody, showing that Sam has lost his optimism about living any sort of "apple pie life". Hair: Shaggy brown hair that grows longer and smoother the older he gets. Eyes: His eye color seems to change; sometimes they appear light green, sometimes they appear brown, etc. Body: Sam has a muscular build with broad shoulders and a muscular chest. Sam has a tattoo on his chest of the anti-possession symbol to protect himself from demons. Features: A healed scar on his left palm; an anti-possession symbol on his chest.

Capabilities Abilities: Sam is incredibly skilled at hand to hand combat and is a highly capable martial artist; Sam is one of the best Hunters in history and is highly accomplished, one of the best to ever exist. Although he uses blades less often than Dean and does not seem to be as skilled as his brother, Sam is nevertheless considerably capable in swordplay and has displayed the ability to wield bladed weapons skillfully to kill supernatural creatures. Sam is an excellent marksman, having been trained by John how to use firearms since his childhood. Just like Dean, he is capable of outshooting most humans he met and can put down most supernatural creatures vulnerable to this type of weaponry. Arguably the smarter one of the brothers, Sam has a vast knowledge of the supernatural and is considered a "walking encyclopedia of weirdness" by his older brother Dean. Residence: Assets:

John Winchester: Sam and John Winchester have a Father-Son relationship as well as a soldier-commander relationship. Unlike Dean, Sam and John have had a very rocky relationship. As Mary died early in Sam's life, he didn't know much about her, nor what a mother's love is. Sam does, however, care for and miss Mary. Dean Winchester: Sam and Dean Winchester are brothers; the two are dedicated to one another, though there are many instances of strain between them, past and present. Castiel: Sam and Castiel have a working relationship alongside a friendship. The two are good friends, and have mutual respect for each other. Similar to Dean's case, Castiel even raised Sam from perdition on his own will. Like Dean, Sam calls Castiel by the nickname "Cas". Bobby Singer: Sam Winchester and Bobby Singer knew each other for many years; as a result, they formed a close father-son relationship. They often collaborated with one another on hunts up until Bobby's death. Ellen Harvelle: Sam Winchester and Ellen Harvelle have a working relationship and also a friendship. Ellen is very protective, loyal and motherly towards Sam and his brother, Dean. Jo Harvelle: Sam Winchester and Jo Harvelle had a good friendship. They hunted and worked together a number of times. Jo was like a sister to Sam. Jo was also the daughter of Ellen Harvelle.
