Sakura Spider

Haruka Hida was a teenager living in Tokyo when a radioactive spider bite granted her arachnid abilities. A HYDRA agent later murdered her father in front of her. Haruka was taken in by her Aunt Mei and Uncle Tsutomu. She followed her father’s belief that great power carried great responsibility. Haruka designed her own suit and constructed mechanical web-shooters before becoming the hero Sakura Spider.

Iron Man (Earth-346) recruited Sakura Spider into the Samurai Squad. She was horrified when Deadpool (Earth-346) arrived as her new teammate since she considered his reckless behavior incompatible with heroism. They stopped criminals together and confronted Loki (Earth-346) when he began targeting Japan. Sakura Spider later accompanied Deadpool while recruiting Neiro Aratabi and her symbiote Kage. She fought beside them as the Samurai Squad opposed Loki and his controlled forces. By the end of their campaign Haruka admitted that serving beside Deadpool had become an honor despite her earlier opinion of him.

Madame Web later approached Sakura Spider when Shathra (Earth-001) began threatening Spider heroes across different realities. Haruka left her world and joined the Spider-Army in the struggle to protect the Web of Life and Destiny. Shathra’s forces transformed Haruka into one of their servants before the surviving Spider heroes defeated the Great Nest and restored those under its control. Haruka became stranded on Earth-616 after the conflict and continued operating in Japan. She later encountered Otoha Okutamiya and Doctor Octopus while investigating activity connected to stolen technology.

Appearance: Sakura Spider has fair peach skin and a compact athletic build with a narrow waist and strong thighs. Her eyes are warm brown beneath dark lashes. Short chestnut brown hair frames her face with uneven bangs and longer strands near her cheeks. The rest of her head is covered by a pink hood.

She wears a fitted black and pink bodysuit that covers her neck torso arms hips and legs. Pale pink sections cover the hood upper chest forearms hands upper thighs and parts of the lower legs. Thin black web lines spread across these pink panels. The black sections cover the sides of her torso hips inner thighs and calves with bright pink angular markings running across the chest waist and flanks.

Her hood has two large white lenses outlined in black across the upper front. The lower opening leaves her face uncovered. A dark raised collar surrounds her neck beneath the hood. A pale pink spider emblem spreads across her chest with broad curved legs extending over the black torso panels.

Her forearms are covered by pink web patterned sleeves that end at thick rounded wrist devices. Black gloves cover her hands and fingers. Each wrist device is bright pink with a raised circular housing and a dark central panel. Her thighs are enclosed by pale pink web patterned sections while tall fitted black boots cover the lower legs and feet. The boots have smooth pointed toes with narrow pink edging along the soles.

Personality: Haruka is passionate and strongly devoted to becoming an ideal hero. She takes civilian safety seriously and becomes angry when other heroes treat dangerous situations as entertainment. Her temper can make her confrontational when someone ignores her instructions. Her commitment comes from her father’s teachings and from her determination to prevent other families from suffering the loss that shaped her own life.

Deadpool (Earth-346) is her most difficult teammate. Haruka initially sees him as irresponsible and repeatedly tries to make him behave like a proper hero. His jokes and disregard for plans frequently test her patience. Their shared battles gradually prove that he will protect others when the situation becomes serious. Haruka eventually respects his courage without adopting his methods. Iron Man (Earth-346) serves as the authority who brought her into the Samurai Squad. Captain America (Earth-346) earns her immediate admiration as an established example of the hero she hopes to become.

Neiro Aratabi is someone Haruka admires as both an idol and a teammate. Haruka becomes unusually enthusiastic around her and worries that Deadpool will embarrass them during their recruitment mission. Kage frequently exposes the less polished parts of Neiro’s personality but still fights beside Haruka as part of the Samurai Squad. Madame Web later treats Haruka as a capable defender during the war against Shathra rather than an inexperienced hero who requires protection. Her willingness to join strangers from other realities shows that her sense of responsibility extends beyond Japan and her native world.

Sakura Spider possesses superhuman strength and speed along with enhanced agility and stamina. Her reflexes allow her to evade attacks and change direction rapidly during aerial movement. She can cling to walls and ceilings through physical contact. Her danger sense warns her about immediate threats before they strike and helps her react to attacks outside her normal field of vision. These abilities let her cross urban environments through powerful leaps and fight opponents who possess greater size or conventional firepower.

Haruka built mechanical web-shooters that fire strong artificial webbing. She uses web lines to swing between structures and restrain enemies or pull objects from a distance. She can spread webbing across an area to obstruct movement and protect civilians from falling debris. Haruka also combines her web lines with her enhanced strength to redirect teammates or enemies through the air. Her combat style relies on speed and acrobatic movement with precise web placement rather than remaining in a fixed position.
