Sakura Matou

Born as Sakura Tohsaka, Sakura was given up from her family at a young age by her father, who believed Sakura's presence would cause competition for the true heir of the legendary Tohsaka bloodline of mages and magicians, a decision that Sakura was strongly opposed to. Sakura was given up to the Matou family, another mage family and friend to the Tohsaka family, under the intention of training her as a mage under their name. Unbeknownst to Sakura's family, the Matou family, helmed by the patriarch Zouken, wished to use her natural magic skill for their own ambitions and evil plans. Sakura herself does not know the extent of Zouken and the Matou family's schemes, but she is aware that involves her in some way, as well as it having something to do with the mysterious and all-important "Holy Grail War", an event that happens once every generation involving a deadly war between seven mages fighting with servants, heroic spirits of human history, all for a chance to gain a wish from the famous holy grail. Having to endure the never ending cruel torture that was training under Zouken, Sakura became an empty and emotionless shell resigned to her fate. She would fight against Zouken and the Matou family, eventually causing the former to use monstrous entities, worm-like creatures, and implanted them into Sakura's body. These worms drain her magical energy, with the unintended side effect of feeding on her carnal impulses. On top of the psychotic and horrific things being done to her, Sakura's adoptive brother, Shinji, despises her for taking his spot as heir to the Matou family. Shinji would bully and abuse her, most horrifically he would rape her on occasion. Although castigated and humiliated on a daily basis, Sakura maintained her bearings with great stoicism. For the eleven years after her adoption, Sakura grew to resent Zouken for his cruelty, her father for giving her up, and her original sister, Rin, for never coming to save her. However, she still kept the ribbon Rin gave her. She would remain an empty shell of abuse and misery, until one day meeting a boy named Shirou, a kind boy who she drew inspiration from. Meeting this boy restored a little bit of her humanity, and she regularly wants to be around him.

Sakura is a member of the Archery club, and is quite good at it as well, having learned under Shirou. Sakura was born with great potential and rare natural magical talent. It surpasses the norm of "natural talent", or "inborn skill" possessed by others, and due to that she would be in danger without the protection of a Magi house, can be equated to a curse in a way. She was born lacking an Elemental Affinity of the "Five Great Elements", and instead had an Imaginary Element of Imaginary Numbers, or Hollow, as her affinity, Thaumaturgical Attribute and Origin. Her Element was changed to the water alignment with her acclimation to the Matou Magecraft, so she cannot display her true talent.

While Sakura is outwardly shy, soft-spoken and eager to please, she possesses a great inner strength. She can also be openly stubborn at times. However, she is also prone to feelings of resentment towards others, and herself has an inferiority complex that has grown far too strong to be healthy. Due to the worm-like entities inside her draining her magic power, Sakura often feels intense and amplified moments of arousal at random. These sudden moments of arousal cause her to be desperate for pleasure, in some extreme cases it causes her to have to hide away and pleasure herself just to make the feeling stop. Despite the cruelty she endures living with the Matou family, she is given a brief reprieve in Kariya, her adoptive uncle and the only person who genuinely loved her. Kariya attempted to free her from the Matou family by earning the favor of the Holy Grail, but was killed before he could do so. When he dies in the Fourth Holy Grail War, Sakura mistakes Kariya's last attempt to free her from the Matou house as a warning from Zouken as the fate of those who disobey him. The incident cements Sakura's despair and resignation towards her own suffering.

Sakura is a young girl with a soothing smile and long, lustrous violet hair, which she styles with a red-pink ribbon on the left side, and violet eyes. The ribbon she wears in her hair was given to her by Rin when they were children and is the first ribbon Rin ever made. Physically, Sakura is described as having a (secretly) dynamite body, and noted to have very "large breasts" (an E-Cup to be precise). Her school uniform consists of a brown vest and a red ribbon, with a white collared shirt with long sleeves underneath, with a black skirt, white ankle socks, and brown loafers. Her casual clothing consists of a pink cardigan, a white top, and a long cream-colored skirt. Alternatively, Sakura wears a long white dress with short sleeves and a black sash, and white sandals. She sometimes wears a pink cardigan or puffer jacket over top.
