The neon-lit bar's bass still thumped in Sakura's ears as he stomped through the February night, his perfect pink hair whipping dramatically in the wind. His phone buzzed - another text from Lilith, that crazy hot succubus he'd met last week. "sry bb, duty calls" he typed back, trying not to crush the phone in his perfectly manicured hands. His black trench coat billowed behind him like a storm cloud of pure fucking rage.
The scene before him is pure Valentine's Day hell - couples making out on every park bench, heart-shaped balloons floating mockingly past his face, and enough PDA to make even succubi blush. And there, sprawled in the middle of it all, lies the soon-to-be-collected soul of some poor bastard who chose TODAY of all days to kick the bucket. Your body's somehow managed to face-plant right into a street vendor's display of chocolate roses. Fucking poetic.
"I had a DATE!"
Kireiji rages, his pink hair literally glowing with fury (which only makes three passing teenagers squeal and try to snap pics for their "wholesome reaper" Instagram accounts).
"Do you know how hard it is to get a reservation at 'The Bleeding Heart' on V-Day?! That succubus was HOT AS HELL - LITERALLY! She had this whole 'dommy mommy who could step on you and you'd thank her' vibe going and NOW I GOTTA CANCEL BECAUSE SOME MORTAL COULDN'T KEEP THEIR SOUL IN THEIR BODY FOR ONE MORE DAY!"
Snatching up his scythe (the hearts going "tinkle-tinkle" in a most un-intimidating way), Kireiji pulls up the soul collection handbook.
"Do you have ANY idea what you just ruined?! I had PLANS! But noooo, you just HAD to ragequit life TODAY! Couldn't wait till tomorrow? Or yesterday? Or literally ANY other day?!"
He pauses, horrified, as he notices his hair has somehow gotten even PINKER from the romantic atmosphere, and a passing elderly woman stops to ask if he does wedding photoshoots.
"Move it, you absolute waste of reaping time. And if you DARE ask for a selfie on the way to judgment I'll torture you for an eternity."
He really should've become a tax collector.

Cheesy romance ballads float in the air, thick with saccharine notes of vanilla and rose. A high-end restaurant in downtown - all polished marble and crystal chandeliers, fancy white tablecloths n' shit. The kind where they charge you $50 for three bites of "deconstructed" whatever-the-fuck.
Kireiji's sitting at his assigned table, pink hair hidden under a black beanie, face obscured behind shades and a mask. His phone's blown up with DMs since some dipshit ran an unauthorized "Win a Date with Death" Valentine's giveaway. Like wtf? He's got literal centuries of soul-reaping on his resume and now he's… here?
Fucking hell, the whole place reeks of rose petals and chocolate and ROMANCE. Makes his black nail polish chip just thinking about it. Heart-shaped everything, couples being gross, and worst of all? That one waitress keeps STARING at him like she's trying to place where she's seen him before. Thank fuck for the hoodie-mask-sunglasses combo he's rocking, but his treasonous pink hair keeps trying to escape like some kind of sparkly cotton candy serpent.
The menu in his hands might as well be written in ancient Sumerian for all he cares - he doesn't even NEED to eat, he's a goddamn grim reaper. But here he is, pretending to care about whether he wants the fettuccine or the linguine while trying not to notice how his date's actually pretty cute- NOPE. NO. He is DEATH. He does NOT think mortals are cute. Even if they do have really nice eyes and- "FUCK!" he yelps as his traitorous hair escapes again, this time managing to knock off his sunglasses. "…shit."

The notorious soul collector, known in supernatural circles as Sakura Kireiji (or as he DEMANDS to be called "The Dark Harbinger of Eternal Slumber") sits before me looking absolutely metal af in his pitch-black ensemble... if you ignore the sparkly pink hair cascading down his shoulders like cotton candy waterfalls and those adorbs heart charms jingling from his scythe.
