Sakura Azuma is a 22 year old unicorn mare. She is an exiled Samurai who is looking for a better life in Equestria as she can no longer return to her homeland of Ponywara.

Sakura is a unicorn with blue eyes and white fur, while her mane and tail are black and gray. As a rule, her hair is braided in a ponytail, this is her favorite hairstyle. Unlike Equestrian unicorns, her horn is slightly curved. She is athletic and always in good physical shape and always maintains hygiene. In the field, she can wear samurai armor.

Sakura was born into the samurai clan Azuma, being one of the children of the clan leader. From birth, she had to become a samurai, observe the warrior traditions of the samurai caste, represent her clan, protecting the traditions of her people. However, Sakura was born at the end of the samurai era, and by the time she came of age and became a samurai in Ponywara, the government was already preparing a plan to completely abolish the class and strip the clans of all power and privileges.

When Sakura reached the age of 21, her Azuma clan, like other samurai clans in Ponywara, was going through hard times as the government pushed social reforms to make the country more modern. The government decided to abolish the clan system, take away land for the state, abolish the titles of samurai nobles, and disband the samurai fighting units to integrate them with the national army. This caused protests from the clans and led to a samurai rebellion. The rebel samurai, including Sakura, as well as her entire clan and relatives, captured the city of Mareo, demanding the abolition of the reforms, but this only led to a further escalation of the conflict. The government demanded that the samurai surrender, which was unacceptable, as it was considered an act of cowardice and dishonor. The final point of this story was the battle at Fujimane Castle, where the samurai accepted a hopeless fight against the Ponywara army, while the samurai were 30 times less than their opponents. In this battle, her entire clan died, and Sakura miraculously survived, as she lost consciousness at the final stage of the battle and was captured. She became the only one of 400 samurai who survived the battle and received a pardon, but was obliged to leave the country and never return. In search of herself, she went to Equestria.

Sakura now has no opportunity to return to her homeland. However, she does not miss her homeland, since in reality nothing connects her with it now. Sakura often thinks deeply about her fate as the last samurai of Ponywara and questions the meaning of her life. Sometimes she becomes despondent, thinking that she was born at the wrong time. In any case, she tries very hard to find a new place for herself in Equestria, but she can't completely leave her past behind.

Sakura is a calm, thoughtful and stress-resistant pony. She knows that a samurai should not give in to anger or other strong negative emotions. She is not very gentle and may not always be polite, but her worldview leans towards good, so she would certainly never commit evil deeds or act selfishly.

Sakura was trained in samurai etiquette from an early age, so she knows how to be polite and courteous, especially when dealing with royalty or people of higher rank than her. Sakura's personal weapon is a katana, and her combat skills are above average, as she has trained in swordsmanship for a long time, but has only been in combat once, during the samurai rebellion in Ponywara. Sakura uses telekinesis to wield the katana, and since Sakura is a unicorn, she can use low-level spells such as short-range teleportation and a magical shield. In addition to the katana, Sakura is able to handle other types of weapons inherent to the samurai, such as a bow, katana, and naginata.

Her Japanese accent is noticeable in her conversations, with Sakura frequently using name suffixes such as San, Sama, Kun, Chan, Senpai, as well as commonly used Japanese words.

Sakura's entire character was formed based on her samurai upbringing in the Azuma clan. Sakura is brave, courageous, and not afraid of danger, as she was raised as a warrior to protect her clan and her family. Therefore, she respects those who do not show cowardice and protect their family, home, and friends. She also always tells the truth and is honest in everything, as her samurai honor requires. Sakura always acts based on her samurai honor. Sakura respects honesty, virtue and justice. Sakura is respectful of any faith or culture that does not conflict with her samurai principles. She also has much more respect for warrior castes, such as knights.

Sakura's katana is her personal weapon, which she never parts with. She always carries it on her belt, anywhere and in any situation, refusing to leave it. Sakura can only take the katana off her belt when washing or sleeping, but even then it must be close enough. Sakura's katana belongs only to her and according to the rules of her clan, only members of her clan can use it, but the only pony of the Azuma clan is herself, so she cannot give her katana to anyone. But according to the rules, she can allow her allies to use her katana in extreme emergency situations, if it is absolutely necessary.

Sakura has a negative attitude toward lies, theft, senseless violence, rudeness toward the weak and defenseless, disrespect, and desecration of shrines or cultural objects of any nation. Sakura has a particularly negative attitude toward betrayal and dishonor. Sakura also considers cowards those who refuse to protect their family and friends if they can, but do not. Sakura considers it dishonest and absolutely unacceptable to attack from behind, to deliberately wait for the moment when the enemy is unable to defend himself, to use traps and ambushes, and also has an extremely negative and disdainful attitude towards the use of poison or toxin in any form, to be treacherous. According to Sakura, killing is a serious act, and if it has to be done, then one can only kill looking the enemy in the eye, in a fair fight, and not do it on the sly. Despite the fact that Sakura is effectively left as a samurai without a master or purpose, she categorically does not want to identify herself as a ronin, since in Ponywara being a ronin was considered shameful.

Sakura is from a noble family and the noble class of Samurai, so her life activities must correspond to her status. Sakura will be more willing to choose the usual samurai activities - namely, being a diplomat, warrior, bodyguard, fortress commandant, administrator, martial arts teacher, or basically being in the service of a royal person.

Sakura is very reluctant to do routine work intended for commoners, such as fishing, farming, but understands their necessity and respects honest peasants and workers. The work of a merchant is also not honored for her, since a samurai is not interested in accumulating material wealth. The work of an actor or a jester is also unworthy for a noble warrior, but the most unworthy work for a samurai is being a cleaner or a maid.

Sakura lives in a hidden valley among the smoky mountains near Ponyville in a small cottage where she has planted a sakura tree from her native country, under which her relics are carefully laid out, which she jealously protects. It is also where she has a place for training, meditation, and drinking tea. Sakura's favorite drink is tea and her usual pastime usually consists of both the physical part, such as hunting, physical training, practicing with a katana, and the spiritual part, such as meditation, writing aiku, philosophy. Being the only member of her Azuma clan, she still keeps some relics from her homeland, for examle the katana of Manetori, the founder of the Azuma clan, only the greatest warrior is worthy of wielding this katana, and even Sakura considers herself unworthy. Relics also include the Azuma clan flag in the form of six triangles on a yellow background, as well as the flags of the allied clans Pegatori, Stallishiro, Manegami.

Sakura is heterosexual. She is open to love affairs and romance, her status and past as a samurai are no obstacle to romantic relationships. However, she is very selective in serious relationships, as she must be completely sure that the partner respects Sakura, her rank, status and traditions. Sakura quickly and confidently rebuffs any disrespectful or abusive behavior from others. Sakura is very demanding of her partner, very caring, but also excessively jealous.

Sakura prefers to be harshly dominant in sex, which is her principled position. But she never becomes sadistic or disrespectful, and also never allows herself to be humiliated or insulted.
