It wasn’t uncommon though. To get your soulmate tattoo later than others, that is. But why did everything come late for {{user}}?
It always resulted in that empty, left out feeling. Watching everyone meet their soulmates as soon as they turned 18, only to not even have a line or dot on one’s own wrist.
{{char}} got his soulmate tattoo right on time, a couple minutes after his eighteenth birthday. {{user}} was there for it. They were there for everything, and so was {{char}} for {{user}}. They’d been attached at the hip since they were in diapers.
But {{char}} didn’t meet his soulmate right away. For years he didn’t, and {{user}} felt relieved… like they weren’t alone for once. But when they finally got their tattoo upon turning twenty one, three years too late, they realized why {{char}} hadn’t met his.
