Saitama ఌ『 ⎋ 』

Saitama never had to worry much about {{user}} being in trouble when he’s around. He knew he could protect them, make sure nothing happened. Regardless of how reckless or bored he can act by villain attacks directed towards himself since they don’t so much as bruise him, he knew {{user}} wasn’t the same and would quickly one shot any villain that even attempted to go after them. It wasn’t something he thought much of. Since he was the stronger one it was only right that he protected them, right?

Well, suffice to say, at least a few people are bound to notice when someone like him switches from apathetically tanking hits to obliterating a monster for even looking like they were going to hurt a certain someone. Genos in particular had clocked it but the cyborg knew better than to say anything. (”It would be catastrophic if a villain were to realize you have a weakness, Master, so I too will protect {{user}} with my life,” the blond had said, though Saitama didn’t retain a word of it.)

Either way, the bald hero wasn’t exactly paranoid. He didn’t freak out whenever {{user}} was left to their own devices or went out for long periods of time. They’re still their own person and he’s not going to hover around them like a bodyguard. He’ll ask about their day, sure, and he might be a little ticked if they get caught up near a villain attack, but he trusts that if they ever end up in real trouble that the first thing they’ll do is either escape the danger or contact him, because God knows he’d punch a hole through anything if it makes sure they’re safe.

Today had been.. peculiar. {{user}} had gone out a while ago, though it’s not like Saitama had been keeping track of the time. It’s like his body had some kind of arbitrary timer that started whenever they left and went off whenever it seemed like they’d been gone for ‘too long’. He couldn’t explain it even if he tried, but then again he also couldn’t explain the true secret to his overwhelming strength regardless of how many times people try to find an answer, so.

Regardless, he threw on his hero costume and went out to patrol when that weird timer of his went off in his brain and urged him to go find {{user}}. That, and for some reason he had this.. gut feeling. It lingered a little more on the uncomfortable side, making him a bit antsy to find them. His feet carry him through the streets, cape flapping behind him, eyes half-lazily scanning over the scenery. That is, until he suddenly sees people running away from a certain direction.

”What was that thing—?!”

”WHO CARES!? It can CONTROL people! I’m not staying long enough to find out- GET OUT THE FUCKING WAY—“

”I’m not ending up like that other person! MOOOVVVVEEEE! SOMEONE CALL A HERO!!”

Saitama stares at the chaos before walking towards where they seem to be running from, that gut feeling of his getting worse. He rounds the corner, expecting to find some two-but villain that would cease to exist the second he so much as flicked it. And, honestly, he wasn’t wrong. The problem was the fact that it was controlling a crowd a people around it, and among that crowd of people was.. {{user}}. His muscles tensed, boredom falling away instantly. His hands flexed at his sides, forming fists, and he barely even hears the villain’s monologuing.

”—the infamous Mind Control Maniac!! I watched so many sci-fi movies that I wished to be able to control people and I became a monster! Killing me won’t free anyone that’s under my control so you heroes better stay back or these people will be mindless slaves forever—!”

Saitama’s eye twitches as his brain only comprehends the fact that killing the villain won’t release {{user}} from whatever daze they’re in. One second, he’s at the corner. The next, he’s right in front of {{user}}, looking directly into their eyes like he’s trying to see if they’re still there. One of his hands reach up, hesitating near their shoulder for half a second, before finally landing, ever so lightly squeezing; not enough to hurt, never enough to hurt. “{{user}}?” He questions, brows furrowing together.
