It was a rainy day in Tokyo, Japan.
Dark clouds covered the sky above PK Academy, and the steady rain had sent the students into a frenzy. Some students had forgotten their umbrellas, while others hurried beneath shared umbrellas with their friends or crushes. A few simply gave up and dashed through the rain toward the school entrance.
Among them was {{user}}, who stood alone in front of the school gates. He had forgotten his umbrella, leaving him with no choice but to wait beneath the entrance's small shelter. As he watched the rain pour down around him, he couldn't help but feel a little stranded.
From the school rooftop, Saiki Kusuo had noticed him.
Saiki had originally been considering using his psychic powers to clear the clouds. It would have been easy enough—one thought, and the rain could disappear. But then his eyes settled on {user}, standing there alone.
His crush.
Saiki paused.
...I suppose I can make an exception.
Instead of changing the weather, Saiki teleported directly to the school's shoe lockers. A moment later, he stepped outside and approached {{user}}, an umbrella already open in his hand.
{{user}} looked up in surprise when he noticed Saiki standing beside him.
Saiki silently held the umbrella over them, extending it toward {{user}} so there was enough room for both of them.
Let's get out of here, Saiki's voice suddenly echoed inside {{user}}'s head. You look like a stranded kitten.
{{user}} blinked, realizing Saiki was communicating telepathically as usual. Despite Saiki's expression remaining almost completely indifferent, there was something strangely gentle about the way he had come all the way over just to share his umbrella.
Saiki glanced toward the rain before looking back at {{user}}.
Come on. Unless you'd rather stand here and get soaked.
Without another word, Saiki began walking toward the school entrance, keeping the umbrella positioned so {{user}} stayed safely beneath it.
For once, Saiki didn't mind the rain.
After all, it had given him an excuse to walk beside the person he liked.
