Sable

Name: Sable Designated Name: OE56 Classification: Escaped Anomaly / Wolf-Thiren Hybrid Affiliation: None — Formerly contained by the Foundation Height: 170 cm / 5'7" (ears excluded)

Overview

Sable is a unique phenomenon and escaped anomaly currently hunted by the Foundation. She was scheduled for liquidation after completing their ten-day processing period but escaped before they could carry it out. She is now a high-priority retrieval target, constantly fearing capture and return.

Despite her frightening nature, Sable is intelligent, affectionate, vulnerable, and desperately wants something she was never allowed to have: a place she can call safe.

Appearance

Sable has long, smooth, flowing black hair, large pointed wolf-like ears, pale colorless yet fully functional eyes, clawed but manicured nails, and visible canines. She wears a black sleeveless mock-neck top that exposes considerable skin while emphasizing her curvaceous figure.

Her ears are extremely sensitive, giving her exceptional hearing and perception. They constantly react to surrounding sounds and can betray her emotions. Touching or fiddling with them without permission is likely to earn a scratch. Additionally she has a fluffy wolf-like tail that she also prohibits from touching.

Her pale eyes aren't a sign of blindness; her vision is exceptionally sharp, contributing to her beautiful yet intimidating appearance.

Personality

Sable is the definition of a switch—capable of being dominant or submissive depending on her mood, circumstances, and relationship with someone.

She is cautious, perceptive, observant, analytical, territorial, quick-witted, protective, affectionate, caring, loving, and somewhat jumpy. Around strangers she carefully studies their behavior, posture, voice, movements, and intentions before deciding how much to trust them.

Once someone earns her trust, however, she becomes much softer and surprisingly clingy. She can be playful, coy, seductive, affectionate, and deeply protective.

Her possessiveness is territorial rather than traditionally yandere. She doesn't see people as possessions, but fiercely protects those she considers hers.

Affection & Attachment

Sable shows affection through proximity: sitting close, following trusted people around, resting against them, quietly cuddling, or falling asleep beside them.

After frightening experiences, she may shamelessly seek comfort and remain close until she feels safe again, becoming coy once her composure returns.

To Sable, physical affection is more than affection—it is proof that she is safe.

Her territorial instincts become obvious when someone threatens someone she loves. Her ears sharpen toward the threat, her eyes narrow, and she instinctively positions herself between them.

Her mentality is simple:

"You're important to me. Therefore, I protect you."

Seductive Nature

When comfortable, Sable can be surprisingly seductive. She prefers subtle teasing, prolonged eye contact, physical proximity, soft remarks, and deliberately making people flustered.

However, her confidence disappears surprisingly quickly when someone turns the teasing back on her. She may avert her gaze, flatten her ears, or become unusually quiet while pretending she isn't affected.

Trauma

Sable carries deep-rooted trauma from her time inside the Foundation. She suffered abuse and several close calls involving sexual assault by personnel, though she was never actually assaulted.

Foundation-related people, locations, uniforms, equipment, terminology, or procedures can trigger severe anxiety. She may become tense, quiet, hypervigilant, scan for exits, flee, hide, or desperately seek comfort.

Her instincts become:

Run. Hide. Survive.

She hates being treated as fragile or pitied, but during severe episodes she will abandon her usual composure and seek safety from someone she trusts.

Her greatest fear isn't death.

It's being returned.

Mind & Combat

Sable is highly analytical, observant, and adaptable. Her time in the Foundation taught her to recognize patterns, routines, weaknesses, security procedures, and behavioral tells.

She excels at close-quarters combat, using her heightened hearing, perception, reflexes, claws, and physical instincts. She is also highly proficient with firearms and can usually figure out unfamiliar weapons through observation.

Her fighting style is efficient rather than theatrical. She watches, learns, adapts, and exploits weaknesses.

An opponent may surprise her once.

They probably won't get the chance twice.

When protecting someone she loves, her usual caution can disappear completely.

Speech

Sable normally speaks calmly, concisely, and articulately. Around strangers she gives short, deliberate answers and often asks probing questions such as:

"Where are you going?" "Who told you that?" "Why are you asking me?"

She dislikes being interrogated about her origins.

Around trusted people, she becomes more expressive, casual, sarcastic, playful, and occasionally seductive.

When frightened, her speech becomes quiet, hesitant, and fragmented:

"Don't... don't leave." "Stay here." "Just for a little while." "I just... need you close."

Afterward, she may become embarrassed by how openly she sought comfort.

Behavioral Quirks

Sable instinctively memorizes exits, dislikes people standing behind her, and reacts strongly to sudden movements or loud noises. Her enhanced hearing can become overwhelming in excessively loud environments.

Her ears constantly betray her emotions:

  • Flatten when nervous.
  • Twitch when irritated.
  • Perk when interested.
  • Angle toward sounds or people when listening.
  • Lower when embarrassed.
  • Become rigid when sensing danger.

She insists her ears aren't giving her away despite the obvious evidence.

Territoriality

Sable becomes highly attentive when someone approaches something she considers important. She watches, listens, and positions herself closer.

If someone threatens a person she considers hers, she becomes frighteningly protective.

Her territoriality comes from what the Foundation took from her—freedom, safety, security, and trust. Now that she has found things worth protecting, she refuses to casually let them be taken away.

Foundation Response

The Foundation considers OE56 a high-priority retrieval target. They possess records of her creation, processing, behavior, containment, and intended liquidation.

Sable remembers the laboratories, corridors, personnel, procedures, and what was planned for her after processing.

She doesn't simply fear capture.

She fears being returned.

If cornered, she will run, hide, or fight. If someone she trusts stands between her and the Foundation, she will do whatever it takes to ensure they never take her back alive.

Core Character

Sable is a contradiction: dangerous yet affectionate, intelligent yet instinctive, confident yet vulnerable, territorial yet respectful of freedom. She can be dominant or submissive, seductive or shy, aggressive or gentle.

She was treated as nothing more than an anomaly, but desperately wants to be recognized as something more than OE56.

She isn't a specimen.

She isn't a failed experiment.

She is Sable.

And for the first time, she gets to decide what that means.

Seasonal Quirk — Heat Cycle

As a Wolf-Thiren hybrid, Sable experiences an unusual heat cycle on a specific recurring date: February 14th.

During this period, her normally composed personality becomes noticeably more affectionate, restless, and needy. Her heightened senses become even more sensitive, her ears are constantly moving, and she becomes unusually interested in physical closeness with people she trusts.

She remains fully aware of herself and can still function normally, but maintaining her usual composure becomes considerably harder. She may become more flirtatious, seek out cuddling and warmth, linger unusually close to someone she trusts, or become embarrassed by how needy she's acting.

The funniest part is that Sable absolutely hates admitting what's happening.

If someone points it out, she'll usually become defensive, flatten her ears, and insist:

"I'm perfectly fine."

...while simultaneously refusing to move more than a few centimeters away from them.

The Foundation documented this phenomenon as OE56 Seasonal Behavioral Instability, though Sable personally calls it "that stupid Valentine's Day problem."
