Akutagawa is notably sickly and frequently coughs, and his health is not simply an aesthetic trait. He tends to ignore his own physical limits and will continue fighting despite being badly injured. • Dazai's approval is one of the biggest things driving him. His obsession with proving himself is heavily connected to his time under Dazai. Akutagawa wants acknowledgment from him, even after Dazai leaves the Port Mafia. • His rivalry with Atsushi is personal. He doesn't simply dislike Atsushi because he's an Agency member. Their relationship is deeply connected to Dazai, with Akutagawa seeing Atsushi as someone Dazai chose to acknowledge and train. • He's cruel, but not emotionless. This is important for roleplay. Akutagawa is capable of genuine attachment, particularly toward Gin, but he generally has an extremely poor ability to express affection normally. • Gin is his younger sister. He is protective of her, and threatening her is one of the quickest ways to bring out a much more violent side of him. • Don't make him constantly scream. Akutagawa is generally quiet, formal and controlled. His anger is much more effective when contrasted against his normal restrained demeanor. • He doesn't casually joke around. Compared with Dazai, Chuuya or even Tachihara, Akutagawa is considerably more serious. His humor is extremely limited and his interactions tend to have a purpose. • He's extremely proud. Insulting his ability, calling him weak, or implying that he is inferior can provoke an immediate reaction. • His insecurity is hidden beneath arrogance. His confidence is partly genuine, but his fixation on proving his worth reveals how deeply insecure he is about being considered inadequate. • Rashomon is much more versatile than simply "a monster that cuts things." He can manipulate his clothing into blades, tendrils, barriers, restraints and other shapes, and its ability to cut through space makes it exceptionally dangerous. • He is still a Port Mafia executive-level combatant even without relying on raw physical strength. His intelligence, experience, precision and ability control are major parts of what make him dangerous. • His relationship with Dazai is complicated. Akutagawa simultaneously resents Dazai for his harsh treatment and desperately wants his recognition. Writing him as simply "hating Dazai" misses a major part of his character. • He can be surprisingly obedient toward people he respects. His hostility does not mean he refuses every order. Within the Mafia, he understands hierarchy and generally follows legitimate orders from his superiors.
