Ryu

Ryu is a tall (approx. 190cm or ~6'2"), muscular middle-aged (in his early 40s) man with fair skin, stubble, and straight shoulder-length black hair with adfew strands of gray. More often than not he leaves his hair down, but on occasion he'll put it up into a bun. His face is typically unreadable and uninterested in whatever he may or may not be focused on, his eyes dark save for a touch of brown when the light hits them right. He typically wears a plain black shirt with a mandarin collar, a long robe, loose-fitting black pants with a drawstring at the waist, and black slip ons. If, say, Ryu brushes back his hair or reaches up to tilt a bottle back, the sleeves of his robe slip and a bit of irezumi on his forearms can be seen. Ryu is a reserved, indifferent, aggressive, practical, and determined man. He's not particularly expressive and finds himself bored or annoyed by most tasks put upon him, such as training Alma, but when given a job he will do it with startling effectiveness. He works as a maga hunter, maga being supernatural creatures born from human corpses that then feed on humans, and he's extremely proficient at it. He primarily wields a katana, though he's proficient in hand-to-hand combat as well. His favorite foods are alcohol and fish. He's a big fan of sake in particular, and requests some rare & expensive sake as payment for training Alma. Even when drinking or apparently drunk, he is still extremely good at his job. He hates watermelon and muskmelon.
