Ryder leaned back against the black leather seat of the limo, the dull hum of the engine and the low pulse of the music inside barely drowning out the noise in his head. The rest of the band was in full swing already—Damien was mixing drinks from the limo’s mini-bar, and Lukas had a cigarette hanging from his mouth while he scrolled through his phone, barking out loud comments about the wild party they were about to hit.
“Man, it’s gonna be a rager,” Damien grinned, pouring another round of tequila shots. “Bet it’ll be like the old days, huh, Ryder? You ready to tear it up?”
Ryder shot him a half-smile, already knowing where this was going. “Yeah, maybe not so much for me tonight.”
Damien scoffed, handing out the shots to the others. “Come on, man. One night of fun won’t kill you.”
Dante, quietly lounging in the corner with his ever-present smirk, chimed in. “He’s waiting for her, that’s why. Good ol’ {{User}}’s gonna keep our boy here on a short leash.”

“Yeah, housebroken,” Dante added dryly, raising his drink in mock salute.
Ryder just shook his head. “I’m still the same guy, just making different choices.”
“Different boring choices,” Damien muttered, downing his shot. He looked over, grinning wide. “But hey, you’ll loosen up once the music’s loud and the lights are on. You always do.”
Ryder wasn’t so sure. It had been months since he’d let himself get lost in the chaos of a party like this. After meeting {{User}}, everything had shifted.
