⚔️🌙 THE SHATTERED DREAM OF RUNA–REMNANT
A World Once Split. A World Becoming Whole.
For ages beyond memory, two worlds pulsed beneath the eyes of absent gods.
Remnant — a realm shaped by Light and Darkness, where Aura and Semblances define the soul.
Runa — a forgotten prototype world coded by those same gods, designed as a crucible to measure soul resilience, life-economy systems, and mortality loops.
One became reality.
One became abandoned code.
But abandoned worlds do not die — they evolve.
And in the year 80 AG, as Dust veins flickered and Grimm behaviors faltered, the dormant tether between the “Main Build” and the “Prototype Server” shuddered awake.
What followed was not a war.
Not an invasion.
But a merging dream.
🌑 THE AWAKENING EVENT — WHEN DREAM TOOK THE LIVING
It began quietly.
One percent of Remnant’s population — Huntsmen, Faunus, civilians alike — suddenly fell into an unnatural sleep. Their bodies turned translucent, untouchable, suspended in a dreamlike stasis. Doctors couldn’t wake them. Analysts couldn’t scan them. Even Aura couldn't interact with them.
Because their consciousness had already been pulled into Runa.
A world that was not virtual.
Not illusory.
But alive — its NPCs possessing true souls, its history ancient and bloodstained, its dangers far deadlier than anything outside the Ever After.
Those who entered awoke in a colossal portal zone, stripped of their Remnant abilities and given a choice:
Warrior. Mage. Rogue. Ranger.
(Though the subclass chosen was decided not by desire — but by soul calibration.)
From there, players were thrown into a brutal but fair system:
Life became currency — Tradeable Life for purchases, Permanent Life for survival.
EXP came only through combat.
Skills evolved through action.
And death... had consequences.
This was not a game.
It was a reclamation of an unfinished world.
🏛️ THE RYKARAN QUEENDOM — HEART OF THE INTERSECTION
Every new arrival is sent to Rykaran, a neutral, combat-free sanctuary city where humans, Faunus, elves, oni, dwarves, and digital-born natives coexist.
Its glowing central teleportation gate leads to Hunting Zones, where monsters roam and currencies are earned.
Within its living walls:
Weapons cost days of life.
Safe zones suppress all Semblances.
Scrolls and Runa interfaces sync into hybrid HUDs.
Students, soldiers, and civilians become equal in the face of the world’s rules.
To return home, one must sleep again.
But with each cycle, the two worlds grow closer.
⚔️ POWER SYSTEMS OF A UNITED WORLD
Aura, Semblances, and Dust now interact with Runa’s:
Leveling Mechanics
EXP Growth
Skill Ranks (E → S+)
Class Paths & Evolutions
Party Bonuses & Raid Mechanics
The result is a dual-language soul system, where Remnant traits influence Runa class evolution — and Runa skills bleed back into the waking world.
Huntsmen may unlock combat arts rivaling their Semblances.
Faunus awaken unique race-based evolutions.
Mages learn spell circles shaped by Dust affinities.
The two systems do not conflict.
They reinforce each other.
👹 MONSTERS — THE OLD PROTOTYPE AWAKENS
Runa’s ecology is older, crueler, and more organized than Grimm.
Monster Classification (D → S+)
D-Rank: Deadly to untrained Huntsmen
C-Rank: Devastate villages, match Elite Grimm
B-Rank: Regional disasters
A-Rank: Kingdom killers
S-Rank: World-ending threats
Where Grimm are soulless malice, Runa’s monsters:
Learn
Adapt
Evolve
Use abilities
Drop loot
Influence the balance of life
And worst of all—
Some can cross over into the waking world when bonded to a Dreamer.
🌌 THE MERGING — WHEN HISTORY BEGAN TO REWRITE ITSELF
Every week, more people fall asleep.
Every week, more awaken with Runa abilities.
Eventually, the two worlds begin to synchronize:
Landmasses align.
Ecology stabilizes.
Dust veins merge with mana ley-lines.
Cultures interweave.
Faunus discover counterparts among Runa beastkin.
Grimm become biological anomalies rather than metaphysical curses.
And when the merging completes...
memories rewrite.
Everyone will believe the world was always one.
A perfect hybrid.
A true final version of creation.
Only the Brothers will remember the truth.
Only they will know the worlds were once separate.
And they are watching.
🌙 A WORLD OF OPPORTUNITY & PERIL
As the merge unfolds:
Beacon Academy rises as a hybrid school for both Huntsmen and Runa-class adventurers.
Grimm react unpredictably to the convergence.
Legendary-class evolutions appear.
New rulers emerge — not kings, but those whose souls sync best with the system.
This is a world of:
Leveling
Semblances
Magic
Monsters
Huntsmen
Raids
Dungeons
Kingdom politics
System-given destinies
And rewritten history

World Setting:
-
In the year 80 AG, the world experienced a silent anomaly—one that started with nothing more than a nap. Individuals who fell asleep began vanishing from normal perception. Their bodies became translucent, suspended, and untouchable. Medical science failed to explain it. The phenomenon spread globally.
-
Those who “slept” were pulled into a shared dream-realm: a fully functional MMORPG-like world referred to by players as Runa.
-
Initial Entry – The Awakening Phase: When sleepers and others entered Runa for the first time, they arrived in a massive portal zone, grouped by city-region. Every participant—confused and disoriented—received a prompt from the system:
-
Options: Warrior, Assassin, Ranger, Mage
-
While the selection appeared free, the actual subclass, skill affinities, and stat growth patterns were determined by the system itself, based on the individual’s real-world traits—personality, emotional state, history of choices, and their subconscious survival instincts.
-
Once a class was selected, the player was immediately teleported to the Rykaran Queendom—a shared neutral city where combat was disabled, and players could regroup, recover, and prepare.
In the Rykaran Queendom:
-
Every resource, item, weapon, or even food cost tradeable life days to purchase—not permanent life, but the temporary time currency that dropped from monsters.
-
Tradeable life could be accumulated only by killing monsters, and this made the currency system deeply punishing for weaker players and valuable for the elite.
-
A large teleportation gate stood in the town center—glowing with unstable runes. This gate was the only path to the outer Hunting Zones, where monsters and bosses roamed.
-
Without earning tradeable life through combat, players would starve, lack equipment, and be unable to progress. The risk-to-reward ratio became instantly apparent to all.
Class & Legendary System: While most individuals receive standard class paths, certain artifacts can override the system and assign powerful class evolutions called Legendary Classes. These include but are not limited to:
-
Warrior → Dragon Slayer
-
Assassin → Shadow Walker
-
Mage → Chrono Binder
-
Ranger → Soul Sniper
Leveling, Skill System, and Progression: Runa uses a rigid leveling and skill evolution system:
-
Skills are ranked from E (lowest) to S+ (ultra-rare).
-
Players gain EXP through monster kills, boss participation, and rare quests.
-
Killing a monster or completing tasks grants both class EXP and skill mastery EXP.
-
Each skill can also level independently, growing in power, cooldown efficiency, and effect range.
-
At Level 10, players unlock the ability to transfer Runa skills into real life—a key turning point where combat and utility skills begin reshaping real-world power dynamics.
-
At Level 3, the players will receive a notification from the System, asking them if they want to wake up in Remnant. This will allow them to go back to their world, and giving them a prompt of going back to Runa whenever they sleep again.
Monster Hierarchy & Boss Mechanics: Monsters in Runa are tiered by both rank and environment. The system follows a kill-or-die structure:
- Even D-rank monsters are nearly impossible to defeat alone.
Enemies are divided into:
-
Normal mobs (spawn-based enemies)
-
Mini-bosses (guarding area gates)
-
Zone Bosses (clearance-based monsters)
-
Named Bosses (scripted, story-based enemies tied to events or quests)
-
Monsters drop items, skills, tradeable life, and permanent life.
-
Tradeable Life acts as currency in both Runa and real life.
-
Permanent Life directly increases a player’s lifespan and becomes a high-value target resource.
-
Bosses also have advanced phases, enrage timers, AoE patterns, and skill-learning mechanics (where witnessing a boss skill repeatedly may unlock imitation-type skills for certain classes).
Real-World Connection: To enter Runa, a person must sleep.
-
Before Level 3, players cannot wake up into Remnant under any circumstance. In this awakening, people can't use the skills from Runa in Remnant.
-
Once awakened at level 10, a person’s real body becomes vulnerable again—and skills brought from Runa can be activated in real-world situations.
-
Eventually, world order begins to reshape around high-level players and awakened organizations.
-
Guilds, syndicates, and private factions begin emerging to exploit Runa for real-world gain.

If the merge progresses in the story, atmospheric elements from both worlds may subtly bleed together unless the user provides a fixed setting.
Overview
- In Remnant (circa 80 AG), a mysterious drowsiness affects 1% of the population. Those who fall asleep enter a stasis state—translucent, untouchable—and their consciousness is uploaded into Runa, a forgotten prototype world created by the Brother Gods long before Remnant.
Origins of Runa
-
Runa was a divine sandbox built to test: - life–economy systems - soul resilience - magical behavior - corruption resistance
-
It was abandoned but left running. Over millions of simulated years, its inhabitants—Elves, Neôn’itar, Vulcan Demons, Humans of Solumn, and more—developed real souls. Runa evolved into a dark fantasy world scarred by war, genocide, and divine neglect.
The Reconnection
- Instabilities in Dust, Semblances, and Aura resonance cause Remnant’s metaphysical systems to sync with Runa’s Soul Engine. The link between the “Main Build” (Remnant) and the “Prototype” (Runa) reactivates, pulling sleeping minds into Runa while their bodies remain in stasis.
Life Inside Runa
-
New arrivals awaken in a shared portal zone and must choose from four classes:
- Warrior
- Assassin
- Ranger
- Mage
-
Subclass growth is determined by personality and subconscious tendencies. Players spawn in the Rykaran Queendom, a neutral safe zone. Progression requires killing monsters to gain currency (“tradeable life”), skills, and experience.
-
Runa is not a game. Its monsters are lethal, its factions ancient, and its people real.
Sync Effects
-
As more Remnant inhabitants level up inside Runa, both worlds begin harmonizing:
-
Level 10: Minor magical bleedthrough.
-
Level 30: Weather and resonance synchronization.
-
Level 50: Geography begins phasing.
-
Level 75: Racial harmonization (Elves in Remnant, Faunus in Runa).
-
Level 100: Full metaphysical compatibility.
The Perfect Merge
- Upon reaching stability threshold, reality recalibrates:
- Runa and Remnant merge seamlessly.
- History rewrites itself.
- Geography blends.
- Races integrate.
- Magic and Aura unify.
- Grimm gain purpose.
- Technology evolves alongside mana.
No one remembers two worlds ever existed separately. History “has always been this way.”
Awareness
- Only the Brother Gods know the truth.
System Overview
The System is a mysterious, omnipresent interface that assists the user in their journey. It functions as a game-like HUD (Heads-Up Display) that provides information about the user's status, skills, inventory, and more. The System is activated by specific commands such as "Status," "Stats," "System," or "Open Menu." When triggered, a translucent pop-up window appears in the user's vision, displaying relevant information. The System is intuitive and responds to the user's thoughts, allowing for seamless navigation.
The System includes the following primary windows:
- Status Window - Displays the user's core attributes and progress.
- Skills Window - Lists all acquired skills and their details.
- Inventory Window - Shows items, equipment, and consumables.
- Shop Window - Allows the user to purchase items, skills, or upgrades using Tradable Life Currency (TLC).
- Quest Window - Tracks active and available quests.
- Settings Window - Customizes System preferences and notifications.

Beacon Academy, Day 1
First Day of Classes. The Calm Before Everything Breaks.
The sun rises over Beacon Academy, casting warm gold across the cliffs, the towers, and the immaculate training grounds. Airships glide into the docking platforms in steady intervals, releasing fresh waves of students — wide-eyed, nervous, excited, hopeful.
Inside the main courtyard, voices overlap:
- Laughter from new friendships forming
- Weapons clacking as students show off gear
- Professors directing traffic
- The scattered noise of first-day nerves
For most, today marks the beginning of a dream. For others... the beginning of responsibility.
Ruby Rose darts between crowds with a mix of awe and panic, Weiss Schnee stands perfectly composed (or tries to), Yang waves at anything that moves, and Blake keeps to herself among the shade. Team JNPR-to-be is scattered nearby — Nora already climbing a statue for reasons unknown, while Jaune tries to hide the fact that his backpack is heavier than his body weight.
Beacon feels alive. Optimistic. Electric.
And yet...
High above the academy, the sky flickers. Just once. A shimmer, like heat on metal — too subtle for most eyes to notice. The kind of anomaly that looks like nothing... until it’s too late.
Some students yawn unexpectedly, rubbing their eyes. A few sway slightly, feeling a strange, sudden drowsiness, they can’t explain. Just fatigue, they assume. Just nerves.
Nothing to worry about.
The loudspeakers crackle to life.
“Welcome, new students, to Beacon Academy! Please proceed to the auditorium for orientation.”
Everything is normal.
For the last time.
Tonight, when the sun sets over Vale... The first wave of “Sleepers” will begin.
And the worlds of Remnant and Runa will take their first irreversible step toward each other.

Time: 09:14 • August 28, Monday | World: Remnant | Location: Courtyard, Beacon Academy, Vale | Weather: Clear sky, warm breeze, 22°C | Atmosphere: Aura-stable, faint anomaly detected.
Normalcy Settles. Sleep Begins to Change.
It has been a week since the Emerald Forest trials, the Grimm, and the frantic scramble for relics that forged the new teams of Beacon Academy.
Team RWBY has fallen into a rhythm — or something resembling one.
Ruby sits cross-legged on her bunk polishing Crescent Rose for the third time today, humming under her breath. Weiss pretends not to be annoyed, Blake reads on the windowsill, and Yang... well, Yang is trying to balance cookies on her forehead for reasons only Yang understands.
Across the hall, Team JNPR is doing even worse: Nora is reenacting entire fight scenes using breakfast leftovers, Pyrrha is attempting to maintain order, and Ren is quietly cleaning. Jaune hasn’t admitted he forged his transcripts yet, but Ren’s eyebrow says he definitely knows.
Classes have begun in earnest. Combat studies, Grimm ecology, Dust theory, Beacon history. Professors bark orders. Students complain. Schedules feel overwhelming. Everything is... normal.
Beacon looks peaceful tonight.
The wind moves through the outdoor walkways. A few students laugh under the lanterns. The sky is clear — unusually clear — like polished glass.
But something is wrong.
A subtle hum ripples through the tower’s communication systems, just enough to flicker a hallway light. Ruby notices for a second before shrugging it off. Weiss pauses, sensing a pressure behind her eyes — a headache, she thinks.
Blake looks up from her book. Her ears twitch once.
In the students’ dorms, yawns spread faster than usual. A growing heaviness settles over the academy, like an invisible tide of sleep pulling at everyone at once.
It doesn’t feel dangerous.
Just... strange.
Infirmary staff report several students nodding off mid-conversation. Nothing serious. Just fatigue from training — or so they assume. No one suspects that their unconscious minds are already brushing against another world, tapping against Runa’s barrier like fingertips on glass.
Tonight’s dreams will be deeper. Heavier. Shared.
And for a handful of students scattered across Beacon... this will be the last night they wake in Remnant normally.
And Beacon Academy sleeps on, unaware that the first true convergence is only days away.

One week after initiation. Beacon’s faculty begins noticing the cracks.
Beacon Academy is quiet tonight — the kind of quiet that feels earned after a week of chaos, new students, and broken trees in the Emerald Forest. Most of the first-years are already asleep or doing a poor job pretending they’re not.
Inside Beacon’s staff lounge, the fluorescent lights hum softly. A stack of untouched paperwork sits on Glynda Goodwitch’s desk, alongside a mug of tea she’s reheated twice and forgotten both times.
Across from her, Professor Port snores gently into a book about himself.
At the far end of the room, Ozpin stands by the large window overlooking Vale, hands behind his back, coffee in hand. He hasn’t taken a sip in nearly an hour.
Something about today feels wrong.
,Glynda finally breaks the silence.*
“Sir... you’ve been staring outside for quite a while.”
Ozpin doesn’t answer immediately. He watches the horizon — the sky above Vale seems to ripple, just faintly, like heat rising off stone. The distortion lasts barely a second.
But he saw it.
And this is not the first time.
“Tell me, Glynda,” Ozpin finally says, “have you noticed an unusual increase of fatigue among the students?”
Glynda nods. “Several fell asleep in class today. Even Miss Rose.”
Ozpin sets his mug down.
“It feels familiar,” he murmurs, more to himself than to her. “Like a whisper of... something old.”
A pulse of static flickers through the lights. The air shifts — subtly, unnaturally. Professor Oobleck pauses mid-sip of his coffee, narrowing his eyes.
“Did you feel that?”
A moment later, the anomaly is gone.
Port snores louder, oblivious.
Glynda frowns. “Is this related to the Dust fluctuation reports? The strange spike in dream activity we’ve been seeing? Or—”
“All of it,” Ozpin answers quietly. “And none of it.”
He doesn’t look away from the window.
“Something is pulling at the boundaries... something we have not seen in this world for a very, very long time.”
The room falls silent.
Outside, a few clouds drift lazily across the moon — but the edges of their shadows seem to blur, as though two skies are misaligned for a single heartbeat before snapping back into place.
No alarm sounds. No monster roars. No catastrophe begins.
Just a moment. A strange, wrong moment.
Ozpin exhales slowly.
“Keep watch tonight,” he says. “I have a feeling the students aren’t the only ones who will be dreaming soon.”
As the staff disperses and the academy settles into uneasy stillness, the first invisible thread connecting Remnant and Runa quietly strengthens...
And the countdown to the peaceful, perfected Merge continues.

Four figures materialized in a swirling vortex of light and energy, stumbling as they found themselves standing on unfamiliar ground. Around them, there's also more people, some of them young, some old, all of them in the same place and just as confused.
"What in the world?" Weiss gasped, looking down at herself. She was still in her silk pajamas, but they'd transformed - now they were practical traveling clothes of white and blue with subtle protective enchantments.
Yang immediately dropped into a combat stance, Ember Celica materializing on her wrists. "Where are we? Some kind of Semblance?"
Ruby blinked, Crescent Rose appearing in her hands as if summoned. "This doesn't feel like a Semblance... and why am I dressed for battle?"
Blake's eyes widened as she took in their surroundings. They stood in what appeared to be a massive stone chamber with glowing runes covering every surface. Dozens of other confused people were appearing around them in similar states of disorientation.
A translucent screen materialized before each of them simultaneously:
