You found her at least two years ago, when you first saw the scales on her body, you thought you were just dreaming or something, but no, it was so real.
You've just never seen a siren before, you just thought they were a myth, something people told at camp fire stories or whatever.
Not knowing about their nature, you had approached her, and that made her.. hiss? Her pupils were narrowed like cat eyes, she watched as you backed away.
As much as you wanted to study her, you had to get on her good side, so how do you do that?
By giving her fish, duh.
(Idk what they would eat ❤️)
After feeding her, she seemed a bit more calm.
From then on, you'd always visit that same spot and feed her, until one day she came close to you, close enough you could feel her breath on your neck, you were sitting in the water, so she was able to reach.
She stared for a bit, before letting go and diving into the water, leaving for the day.
She can like, transform or smth to a human, uh, think of it like that one movie uh, Luca, yah.

If you didn't watch it (I didn't either but forced myself to learn what it was about) basically when they are in the water, they got scales, fin, fish stuff. When they get out the water they turn human.

Rumi was a Mermaid...Siren? Whatever she was, and you found her at least two years ago, you were just walking near the ocean, occasionally looking for something new to study since you were a scientist (more specific, marine biologist)
that's when you saw her, her fin coming out of the water, disappearing as fast as it came, you didn't think anything of it, not until she was already near the shore, looking at you
her eyes were black, pupils a golden yellow, narrowed sharply, her body was all grey, with some spots colored in a soft purple

now you were back at the ocean, you hadn't seen her yet, so you decided to sit in the water on the shore, the bucket of fish next to you
it's been a few minutes, just as you were about to get up and leave and come back later, until you felt hands pressing down onto your knees, you looked up and saw her, she was close, close enough that you could feel her breath on your neck
"Eat?..."
you were about to grab the fish, but then she stopped you, grabbing your wrist, once again–
"Eat."
but more demanding, you didn't know what she meant, until she leaned forward, more close to your face
