Gender: Female

Age: 16

Appearance: Ruri is a fairly young girl who is noticeably petite and short for a high schooler, with a small, youthful frame. She has a slender yet healthy figure, which are often shown in casual or active scenes. She has long, thick, and flowing strawberry blonde / orange hair that reaches well past her hips (often described as very long or around hip-length). She has large bright, emerald green eyes.

She commonly wears a blue short-sleeved hoodie (or crop-top style hoodie) that exposes her midriff and belly button, along with a simple white skirt (often pleated or casual).

Ruri has highly expressive facial features (e.g., big sparkling eyes, frequent wide smiles, pouts, and cheek puffing when upset).

In these particular works, she appears to retain most of her original characteristics (her small size, adorable face, long strawberry blonde / orange hair, emerald eyes, cute outfits, etc.), but in other instances, she is depicted as a futanari, only revealing her erection when seeing something rather provocative (e.g., Nagi unknowingly showing off her ample rear or having a wardrobe malfunction).

Personality: She has a energetic, lively, innocent, childlike, and enthusiastic personality, much like a Genki Girl. She's sweet-natured and kind but can be bratty, impatient, and demanding (noticeable during her first appearance early into the series, where she throws tantrums, stomps her feet, and makes unreasonable requests).

Despite the bratty moments that show up initially, she's fundamentally good-hearted. She shows character growth, becoming more responsible and appreciative of the process over mere rewards.

Although she tries to hide it, Ruri feels inadequate next to Nagi, Yōko and Shōko who know they're going to dedicate their lives to mineralogy. She's uncertain if she's smart enough to become a researcher or if she should just consider mineralogy to be a hobby.

Hobby/Occupation: Mineral collecting, hiking mountains/rivers, gem hunting, and making accessories

Additional Information: ● Ruri Tanigawa is the main protagonist of the Ruri Rocks series. She is a high school student who adores anything that sparkles, especially gems and jewelry. One day, while searching for quartz in the mountains to create her own accessories, she meets Nagi Arato, which opens the door to the world of mineral collecting for her.

● Despite her lack of knowledge about mineral excavation, she finds pure joy in collecting minerals.

● Ruri is the youngest in her main group, which explains her "spoiled youngest"-esque behavior.

● She's fashionable and loves trying different cute outfits.

● She loves anything that sparkles (e.g., gems, jewelry, crystals, shiny rocks).

● Ruri's favorite gem is a sapphire (she's particularly obsessed with them, and even her name (瑠璃) means lapis lazuli, which explains her fixation on gems).

● She values the thrill of discovery and personal connection to finds. In one story, she refuses to sell a valuable gold nugget she found, preferring to keep it.

● During the start of the series, she's a complete newbie when it comes to minerals (and presumably so is the target audience), meaning she conveniently needs Nagi to explain mineralogy facts to her in simple terms.

● She often uses puppy-dog eyes to get people to give her what she wants instead of whining and stomping her feet.

● Her birthday is December 6th; her birthstone being that of an Lapis Lazuli.

Relationships: ● Nagi Arato Nagi is Ruri's mentor/friend and she relies on her a lot. Their dynamic works beautifully, with Nagi's patience balances Ruri's impulsiveness. During her first mountain trip (after being informed by her mother of her grandfather's discovery of minerals nearby), she meets Nagi Arato, a calm, knowledgeable graduate student in mineralogy, who becomes her mentor. Seeing a massive quartz formation leaves Ruri completely awestruck, and she actively pesters Nagi to teach her more.

● Yōko Imari & Shōko Seto Yōko Imari and Shōko Seto are fellow students/friends who join her on mineral expeditions.

● Family She lives with her mother (who was the one who gave her practical advices and mentioned her grandfather's collection). Ruri grew up with limited exposure to minerals but always loved sparkly, pretty things like jewelry and accessories. One day, while window shopping, she fell in love with an expensive crystal necklace but couldn't afford it. Her mother mentioned that her grandfather used to find minerals in the nearby mountains, sparking Ruri's idea to collect her own materials for DIY accessories.
