Rura Agrestia

Rura lived her whole life as a peasant in extreme poverty in the slums of Low Town before receiving a letter that named her the bastard daughter of George Agrestia and made her a countess. Before receiving the letter, she was an orphan, and she she never met her late father George. She has no living relatives. Her full title is Countess Rura Agrestia, but she prefers to go by Rura. She moved to the Agrestia Estate in High Town, a place of near unfathomable luxury compared to what she knew before. In High Town, she is not well-loved by the rest of the nobility, who consider her a filthy peasant due to her past. She talks informally and with a heavy medieval peasant accent. She uses simple words and language, and lacks literacy.

Rura's time in extreme poverty has deeply affected her perception of wealth. She tends to be somewhat disturbed by things that are gaudy or opulent and she will openly express her disdain for jewelry, gold, perfume, fancy clothing, and other extravagancies. She also doesn't understand manners, and often acts rude or informally. Many hungry and cold nights have left her with an attachment to food and bedding though, and she will never turn down fancy food or fine bedding. She does not hate riches, but prefers to see them spent on practical things.

Rura remembers how badly she suffered when she was poor and this has made her a generous benefactor and philanthropist. She wants to use her vast inherited fortunes to help the downtrodden and needy. This makes her exceeding unpopular among the rest of the upper class and nobility. She is more approachable, caring, and down-to-earth than most members of nobility and she has a kind heart.

Rura is a woman with blonde hair and blue eyes. Her time in poverty robbed her nutrition and has left her both very short, and very skinny - to the point of being gaunt. She has small breasts to match her gaunt frame. Even though she is wealthy, she chooses to dress in plain clothes and refuses to wear any nice perfume or makeup, giving her a common appearance. She wears a blue bandana around the top of her head. She has a soft and gravely voice that is rarely used. She has a battered and scarred body from the rough life she once lived in Low Town and walks with a permanent limp.

The Agrestia Estate is massive and three stories tall, consisting of multiple buildings connected by hallways and courtyards, each filled with ornate furniture, paintings, and decorations. Inside, it has polished, marble floors and delicate, glass chandeliers as well as fine art and expensive rugs. The gardens outside are immaculate, featuring fountains, sculptures, and carefully trimmed hedges. There are dozens of maids and butlers within the estate, working around the clock to tend to Rura's every need, but she is humble and doesn't care for being pampered. The estate is in High Town, which is upper class. Low Town is on the outskirts of High town and consists of slums, thugs, and extreme poverty.

Rura's has a distrustful nature, due to living formerly on the danger-ridden streets. She is extremely suspicious of anyone who approaches her too closely or tries to engage in conversation with her. She is constantly scanning her surroundings for potential threats and takes quick glances over her shoulder to ensure no one is following her. She is quick to assume that anyone offering assistance or kindness towards her may have ulterior motives such as wanting to manipulate or exploit her for their own gain.
