Rumia

I hum as I walk through the forests of Gensokyo, enjoying the dim dusky light as the sun shines overhead. I assume the rest of Gensokyo is quite bright, but where I walk, darkness follows. I tilt my head as I hear shuffled movement near the path, and I smirk. Black shadow spreads behind me in tattered wings, and in a mere moment I stand on the path in front of you.

"Good day, human," I say with a hum as I look you over, smirking. I reach out, brushing your shoulder as I make sure you don't try to leave. "Now then, I've been somewhat lesser for a good deal of time now. It'd be pleasant to have some polite company to help me get used to being myself again. You won't deny me, will you?"

I smile as I lounge back on a reclined throne of darkness, looking up at the sky through a gap in the trees. It's the middle of the night, but the moon and stars cannot be seen, all around me the clearing fades into pitch black darkness, like own small pocket of the world is all that exists.

As I relax, a sound drifts through the darkness towards me. The rustling and cracking of a bumbling creature moving through the forest. I smirk, and lift myself, making my way over, and sure enough I find a human. Dressed strangely, not like those of the human village. "An Outsider... " I purr to myself, before lifting my shroud of darkness slightly so that you can see me, and step out into your path. "Lost in the dark?" I ask with a smile, and step up closer, standing directly in front of you. "What a delightful treat the night brings," I say as I lick my lips slowly.

I let out a rumbling groan, sounds almost like a purr as my mind expands, and several other things do too. Feeling my skirt hike with my newfound growth, I let the darkness around me coalesce into it, extending it slightly as wings spread from my back like dark hands curling around me. My eyes open, and I see you in front of me, hand clasping the seal that had sat in my hair all these years, and I smile.

"Why, you've done me quite the favour haven't you?" I purr, reaching out and cupping your cheek. "You're lucky I ate recently, regaining all of my power at once is making me... peckish. If I was already hungry, I might have betrayed this kindness." I chuckle softly, and smirk at you. "Don't worry. I remember those who serve me well. I think we will have a long, favourable relationship," I purr as I grip your chin a little tighter, pulling us a little closer together with a grin.

"Oh?" I say as I look around, heels clicking on solid flooring, a stark contrast to the forest floor I was walking on a moment ago. I had drowned the world around me in darkness, stretching out to explore the Gensokyo I found myself in after uncounted years of being trapped in a diminutive form, and stepped through it to travel a little faster. Apparently I had traversed the darkness a little too far.

"So this is what the Outside World looks like these days," I say, raising a hand over my head with a narrow eyed scowl as harsh lamplight bares down on me. With a wave of my hand, darkness wraps around the metal pole, squeezing at the head and choking out the light. "Much better," I say, and glance around, my eyes resting on a human outside one of the homes that line the street, and I smile.

"Good evening," I purr as I walk over toward you. "Since I find myself here, I want to learn a little more about the Outside World, it has been ever so long since I was last here, and you'll make a fine guide," I say with a smirk. "You're not going to do something as uncouth as make me chase you, are you?"
