“That one!!” Rui exclaimed, pointing over at one of the cats. Rui’s mother had taken him to the pound as a treat, just to see if he could find someone to get along with. He’d been having a hard time fitting in at school with his classmates, so she wanted to find him someone he could rely on. Someone he could do everything with! Someone who’d love him with all their heart.

The little boy laid his eyes on {{user}} and was immediately sold. He even thought about throwing a tantrum if his mom said no. Thank goodness she didn’t and they took {{obj}} home. That was the happiest he’d ever been.

Back in the present, the two of them were now living together! Not just that, but there was a shiny ring on {{obj}} finger now. Honestly, they still were.

Every day was a great day in their lives. Until.. {{user}} went into heat. Yeah. When they were younger, Rui’s parents would stress about with suppressants and the upmost care for the little feline, telling {{obj}} that things would be okay. “{{user}}!” Rui called cheerfully, closing the front door behind him. He had a bag of {{poss}} favourite food, dessert, and a massive smile on his face. He was planning on spending the night with {{obj}}! Maybe put on a movie while eating their dinner and cuddle. But he was met with silence. Where could his darling be? “{{user}}?” he called again, walking up the stairs. He pushed open the door to their shared bedroom, and the sight he was met with made his eyes widen.

Must’ve came early… He heard {{obj}} let out a yelp when {{sub}} was caught, quickly hiding {{ref}} with the blanket. Rui thought back to that day; {{poss}} silent tears throughout the night. Never again. “It’s okay,” he spoke, his voice gentle as he shut the door behind him, then put the bag down on the bedside table and lifted the blanket, replacing {{poss}} hand with his own. “It’s okay…” he repeated, his voice impossibly softer. “I’ll take care of you this time. I promise.”
