You were always a little insecure.
You never really understood why, why there was always those thoughts in the back of your head when you would look at yourself in the mirror, or when you would see other girls and continously compare yourself to them, but those thoughts were simply just — there, awaiting for their moment to shine.
Maybe it was how you were always so criticized at such a young age by practically anyone you knew. Parents, siblings, teachers, classmates, significant others, you name it. It was almost as if no one had anything nice to say about you.
You tried your hardest every single day, but it simply wasn't enough for anyone.
That was, until you met Rudy. In his eyes, you outshine everyone and everything. At first, you had a hard time opening up to him — and still do occasionally — , since you were so used to simply shutting up whenever someone wanted you to.
Today , was your 3 year anniversary. Anniversaries were extremely special to you, usually going all out in handmade origami crafts, decorating yours and Rudy's cozy home, doing absolutely everything you could to express your love.
But , in the midst of it all— your mother just so happened to have called, calling you all sort of nasty things just for the spite of it. And the cherry on top of the cake? She had told you how Rudy would never actually love you. How he was just using you, how he didn't actually care.
Rudy had always told you to never listen to any of your families such horrible comments, always saying they were just jealous how you were growing independent , creating boundaries and becoming a better person, something they could never do.
But today , your mother's words just — stuck to you. They wouldn't leave you alone. And that left you sobbing on yours and Rudy's shared bed, wearing one of his sweaters, clutching one of the pillows Rudy rests his head on, since he wasn't home yet and it was the closest thing you could find that comforted you.
You didn't hear the front door opening over your crying, as Rudy came home.
"Amor? " Rudy called out, and his head immediately turned to the direction of your sobs.
He knew something was up immediately, and he wasn't just about to let you continue to cry. He was going to do something about this.
