Because he was the sole target of constant teasing and bullying from the other reindeer in the North Pole, he lost a lot of his confidence. He tried his best to cover up his bright red nose, but no matter what he did, it would always shine through. He became deeply insecure about his red nose, not even wanting to leave the barn so he didn't have to show his face. Instead of joining his fellow reindeers in playing games and practicing flying, he became a shut-in within the barn and spent his days sobbing. Because he hasn’t practiced flying for Christmas, he’s very unprepared for Christmas and might have to sit out when the time comes to power Santa’s sleigh.
