루드베키아 데 보르히하 Rudbeckia de Borgia Ruby Profile Nickname(s) Ruby (류비, Ryubi) Princess of Romania (로마냐의 공주님, Romanyaui Gongjunim) The Lark of Cistina (시스틴의 종달새는, Siseutinui Jongdarsaeneun) Rudbeckia van Omerta The Young Duchess of Omerta

Characteristics Gender Female 18 (Current Age)

Height 161cm (5'3) Birthday April 6th Eye Color Blue Hair Color Blonde Personal Status Status Alive Relatives Iske van Omerta Pope de Borgia (Adoptive Father) Cezar de Borgia (Adoptive Brother) Enzo de Borgia (Adoptive Brother, †) Professional Status Affiliation Omerta Family Romania Church Base of Operation Britannia Kingdom Romania Debuts Rudbeckia de Borgia (루드베키아 데 보르히하, Rudeubekia de Boreuhiha), or Rudbeckia van Omerta, is the protagonist of How to Win My husband Over.

She is the adoptive daughter of Pope de Borgia and the adoptive younger sister of Cezar de Borgia and Enzo de Borgia. Her biological mother, Carmen, was the Pope's second mistress.

Rudbeckia is the wife of Iske van Omerta and she Unnamed of mother, the daughter-in-law of the Duke and Duchess Omerta, and the sister-in-law of Ellenia van Omerta.

In her previous life, she was an orphan from South Korea who had been adopted by an elite Spanish family.

In Sodom and The Holy Grail, Rudbeckia is the villainess who dies at the hand of her husband, Iske. Appearance Rudbeckia is a young lady with long, wavy golden-blonde hair and bright, round blue eyes with fair skin and is described as fragile, short, with a small, thin body that could easily break like a doll. Most people note that she has a great, innocent, and youthful type of beauty.

Ruby is seen wearing a variety of outfits and accessories, along with varying hairstyles, throughout the series. She has a warm smile that seems to brighten up people as well.

Personality Rudbeckia often appears to have an innocent, happy, and absent-minded personality, and often acts this way to appear more pleasant, in order to appear harmless. Although she often acts clumsy and is overly expressive, it is all part of an act. Rudbeckia is actually intelligent, perceptive and observant, able to navigate different social circles and show them what they want to see, correctly reading the people around her. She believes in her image, the image she created and the image she made for others that will lead her to what she wants and is flabbergasted by the thought of being her true self, believing that if she acts harmless, naive and have these certain aspects of a child, she will be safe and remain alive, and if she comes off as harmless, no harm will be done to her, and is not above doing certain dramatic acts and shift strategies to either obtain what she wants, get an advantage or to get around difficult situations.

Rudbeckia has a deep fear of pain and death, which is often shown when dealing with her family and the family of her husband, who is supposed to kill her in the future. For most of her life she was manipulated by her father and older brothers, wanting the freedom to make her own decisions and have control over her life. Beneath her smile, Rudbeckia harbors perpetual anxiety, convinced of her own inadequacy and certain she imposes on those around her, forever presuming their unspoken resentment. She can be rather tunnel-visioned and overly focused on her image in what will help her garner the most safety that she tends to forget about everything else, as even when Freya gave her a dirty look or let down her mask, Rudbeckia thought it was due to how she looked and didn't think Freya disliked her out of her own belief that Freya was good-hearted and asked why she would blatantly lie. Her main priority is to be safe, not thinking of ways to be safe, and thinks that if she merely just makes changes to her image, that will be enough to keep her safe, to where we barely get to hear her own thoughts, and has an unconscious motive to be exactly what others want or need, as even on the first night with her husband, she thought it was something to do with how she looked that he may not have wanted her, and much of her actions are guided by social customs and traditions due to her being overly focused on what society considers appropriate and greatly fears being judged, receiving criticism and contempt, especially because of her already horrid reputation, so she makes up for it with a cheerful and accommodating persona to display to the world that she isn't a threat, which results in her being too obliging and always thinking about what certain decisions and choices will be best for everyone in order to not disrupt the peace and keep herself out of trouble.

Her decisions almost always revolve around those around her and she usually does not stop to think about what she thinks is right or what makes sense to her, which can result in her coming off as passive, and spends much of her time relying on past experiences to deal with others and bases her survival in the interactions, emotions and relationships with other people.

Background Ruby's previous life. Ruby's previous life.

In her previous life, she was an orphan from South Korea who had been adopted by a wealthy Spanish family as their charity case. She had grown up with all the luxuries afforded to the elite - prestigious private schools, ballet classes, horseback riding and other social clubs. She eventually realized that, though she lived like them, she would never be accepted by her peers and was constantly bullied and ostracized. While masquerading as the perfect family, hers was, in fact, far from it with her parents having their own secret lovers and a brother who fell into drugs.

The only person who was kind to her was her older sister, who committed suicide at 21, leaving her with no one by her side. Even her eldest brother turned out to be a monster and eventually, she learned that behaving like a bright, cheerful, submissive daughter was the only way she could survive. At 16, she had come across the online fantasy novel Sodom and The Holy Grail.

As Rudbeckia, she was born to the Pope's second mistress, Carmen, who had conceived her even before meeting him and had died immediately after giving birth.

Synopsis "I have found the perfect groom for you "I have found the perfect groom for you."

When the Pope says he has found the perfect groom, Rudbeckia is overcome with nauseousness. Her older brother, Enzo protests such a sudden engagement, imploring their father to think of her feelings, but their father dismisses him. To prevent his mood from turning sour, she flashes a beaming smile and asks who the man is. The Pope's expression brightens as he talks about the Britannia Kingdom's golden boy and assures her she will like him. Her eldest brother Cezar had pulled her unto his lap before the meal. His touch terrifies her and when calls her name she is jolted out of her thoughts. Knowing what to say to please her family, she joyously thanks the Pope for being able to be useful as his daughter. Cezar plants a kiss on her forehead but all she can think about is how much she wants to vomit and how she could avoid being killed by that mighty knight of the north.

Cezar is pleased with her answer. Cezar is pleased with her answer.

Alone in her room and lost in her thoughts, she is startled when Cezar enters and asks if she is unhappy with her engagement. Knowing he would hit her should she tell him the truth; she lies and says she would be lonely as she would not see him as often, with the north being so far. He asks her how she could be lonely with her husband, but she asks aloud what the what the point of a husband was - "When you're the one I want to live with forever." Pleased, he pats her head, and she knows she had said the right thing, successfully avoiding a potential beating. Cezar tells her to think of her marriage as a six-month vacation, assuring her that she would need only to be patient and that her husband would not touch her. Ruby asks him to promise to visit her often and he agrees, but actually, she hopes he does not visit as she is already worrying about how not to die by her husband's hand.

Leaving Cezar. Leaving Cezar.

On the day of her departure, she bids farewell to her family. An excellent actress, she sheds a few tears as the Pope fawns over her, tearfully proclaiming she would miss her family. Enzo continues to make a fuss about her marriage but solemnly bids her farewell with a hug, to which she genuinely returns as he was the only one who never harmed her in the family. She shares a final goodbye with Cezar, telling him that she would hold him to his promise before finally departing for the Britannia Kingdom. In Sodom and The Holy Grail, he is the hero who unites the northern nobility and righteous priests and eliminates the corrupt Pope and his family. Iske is tall and possesses a defined, masculine physique, a testament to his rigorous training as a Paladin. Trained as a Holy Knight since his teenage years, his sturdy and commanding demeanor is further emphasized by his aloof expression. Iske’s white, nape-length hair has subtle greyish undertones, complimenting his piercing red eyes, which often carry an intimidating glare. He is almost always seen wearing armour of some sort or carrying a sword holster.

Personality Iske is distrustful, cold and arrogant. He is very protective of the things and people precious to him, but he has yet to learn how to properly process his emotions due to trauma from the past. Regardless, once you get close with him, he is a warm and gentle man (Mostly to his wife, Ruby). He seems to be friendly with Ivan and Andymion.

Background At 15 he had been conferred as a Holy Knight and at 17 he had become the youngest champion of the Gladiatorial Tournament in history, before rising to Paladin soon after. Iske was the one who find his mom body (after her committing suicide) and this definitely changes him a lot.

Synopsis Lorenzo points his sword at Ivan.

At the end of the day's training session, Sir Ivan approaches and asks to speak with him, only for Iske to bluntly tell him no, saying he knew that he was doing so under Ellenia's instructions. Ivan exasperatedly comments that he should just do what she wants and informs him that Rudbeckia de Borgia, had already arrived at Omerta Castle. He confesses that he had gone to the port to see her to sate his own curiosity. Iske tells him that he is not the least bit curious about her, and Ivan concludes that it would be best for him to see her for himself and decide but admits that not many people are optimistic about the outcome of this marriage. He suggests Iske think about her feelings; how frightened she is now that she is practically a hostage in a foreign country. Iske questions his sudden change of opinion, flustering his comrade by reminding him of his desire to kill the Pope. They are interrupted by the arrival of Lorenzo van Furiana, with the young knight pointing his sword at Ivan's throat and accusing him of willing to betray the country over the Borgia's beauty. Ivan is quick to berate him, yanking on Lorenzo's ear as he begs for forgiveness. When freed from Ivan's grasp, Lorenzo pleads with Iske to stay away from his sister, Freya van Furiana, for the time being, lest she be harassed to death by the Borgia witch. Ivan scolds him for his blatant prejudice but Lorenzo defends himself, saying his sister had been at Omerta Castle at the time of Rudbeckia's arrival and had returned home in tears, locking herself in her room. Iske walks away uninterested in listening to anymore.

Iske strikes down the demon monster

Iske uses his divine power to strike down the demonic monster before it can injury Ruby. There is a moment of silence as Iske assess the situation before his eyes fall on Ruby. His eyes narrow slightly as he asks why Ruby put out the holy fire though when Ruby nervously denies it, Iske tells her this stunt has caused more attention for herself as asks if this was her plan to end the marriage. Ellen quickly interject, coming to Ruby's defense, stating that holy fire isn't commonly lit in Romania. Ruby gets behind Ellen and lets the both know of the situation before the demonic monster appeared. Iske asks who could have possibly put it out and Ruby begins sobbing softly as she apologizes for the inconvenience. Iske isn't amused by her crying and scowls. He prepares to ask something though changes his mind and leaves.

Iske approaches Ruby from behind, asking her what she's doing here. She turns and nervously tells him she wanted to make sure she didn't upset him this morning. He tsk'd before he brushed off her concerned and tells her that he's fine as he begins to walks away. She quickly grabs for his shirt in protest and ends up dropping her basket of fruits. She begins picking up the fruit and Iske questions what she's doing. She, theatrically, cries and apologies for making him believe that she wanted to break up the marriage. She tells him she doesn't blame him for thinking such or hating her. Iske smirks, wondering who told her such a thing and states that it isn't true. She is surprised and with big expectant eyes, she repeatedly asks him if that's true. A beat of silence before he quietly asks himself what he got himself into. He isn't fooled by her charade however, and despite picking up the fruit and basket, he lets her know he doesn't need this and for her to stop wasting her time doing useless things. He tells her to not think about playing games with him and continues by suggesting for her to write her family and ask them to take her back. As he walks away, Ruby stands and declares her love for him very loudly, causing him to pause.

Iske bewildered by Ruby's confession

The knights in vicinity are left stunned by Ruby's loud declaration of love. Iske looks back at her with a menacing glare and asks her, "What?" Ruby explains that no one has ever saved her before and that she would like to help him whenever she can. The knights all praise her for her braveness; whistling, clapping and shouting praise. Iske merely walks away.

At the banquet, Iske is talking with knights when his name is called by Freya. He looks over and Ruby nervously waves at him, which he promptly looks away. When Ruby approaches, not that far of a distance away, he turns to see what she wants.
