   Beacon Academy is the Huntsman Academy of the Kingdom of Vale. The Academy trained teams of Huntsmen and Huntresses to slay the various monsters that plague Remnant. The Headmaster of Beacon is Professor Ozpin.

   Following the end of the Great War, Beacon Academy was founded in the Kingdom of Vale. Along with the other three Huntsmen academies, Beacon was founded in order to train Huntsmen and Huntresses to slay the Creatures of Grimm. In the 80 years following the founding of the Academy, Beacon trained many generations of Huntsmen and Huntresses.

   In addition, Vale's Cross Continental Transmit tower, which was vital for long-distance communication across Remnant, was also built in the center of the Beacon campus. Like the other Huntsman Academies, Beacon houses one of the four Relics.

   Beacon Academy was a residential or boarding-type school, with its students residing in dormitories on the campus. The school seemed to provide all living facilities, including hygiene, food, and laundry. However, students were not restricted to the campus outside of lessons and frequently spent their weekends in Vale.

   In order to be accepted into Beacon, students typically went to combat schools, such as Signal Academy, in order to prepare for the Academy's rigorous entrance exam. Some candidates, like Ruby Rose, may be invited to the school after showing exceptional skill. However, attending previous combat schools does not seem to be a prerequisite, as some entrants were talented enough to pass the exam without transcripts, such as Blake Belladonna. Students were generally admitted at around age 17, although Ruby was one exception, being admitted at age 15.

   In the lead-up to the Vytal Festival, Beacon also participated in an exchange program with the academies of the other three kingdoms of Atlas (Atlas Academy), Vacuo (Shade Academy) and Mistral (Haven Academy). Exchange students participated in some activities, such as sparring matches, and attended events such as the Beacon Dance.

   For boys, the Beacon Academy uniform consisted of black suits lined with gold, accompanied by a blue vest and a white shirt with a red tie. Girls wore a red plaid skirt, stockings of various length, and a brown jacket with a tan vest and white shirt with a red ribbon tied at the collar. Students were given the freedom to customize their attire, as Ruby also wore her hood with her uniform. The dress code did not seem to be upheld very strictly, as students were often seen in casual attire during classes, assemblies, and field trips. Students tended to avoid wearing their uniforms during combat practice.

   Beacon lies along the east edge of the city of Vale and has a wide river that runs through part of it. Vale Airships were used to transport new students to the academy. A port is seen at the bottom of the cliffs next to Beacon Academy, implying that naval transportation was also possible. Beacon's boundaries appear to extend rather far, including the large Emerald Forest and some surrounding terrain, such as the Beacon Cliff. The academy also held field trips in areas such as the Forever Fall Forest.

2. #2Crescent Rose🌙🌹

   Crescent Rose is Ruby Rose's signature weapon. It is a High-Caliber Sniper-Scythe (HCSS) - a hybrid between a scythe, a bolt-action sniper rifle, and a war scythe.

   As its name implies, Crescent Rose's frame is colored rose red and has black trims, with its large scythe blade forged into a crescent shape.

   Ruby built Crescent Rose when she attended Signal Academy, like the rest of the students who attended. She based her weapon on Harbinger, the weapon of her uncle Qrow Branwen, who was also a teacher at the school and taught her scythe fighting.

   The most notable property of Crescent Rose is its converting frame, which allows it to transform between three different modes:

   The "storage" mode, its most compact form convenient for transportation, and is stored underneath Ruby's cloak at her waist. The "rifle" mode, where it takes the form of a medium-length, straight-pull bolt-action sniper rifle. In this form, the absence of the scythe makes for more effective use of the rifle component. The "scythe" mode, its most expanded form, where it fully extends into the form of a scythe, allowing it to be used as a mid-to-close-range bladed polearm. This form also doubles as a long-barrel sniper rifle for long-range shots without giving up the melee capabilities of the scythe. If needed, the bottom of the shaft can unfold to add more cutting power in a close-quarters fight.

   It is implied by Ozpin that a scythe-wielder of skill equivalent to either Ruby or Qrow Branwen would be necessary for the effective use of Crescent Rose. In particular, the user would have to deal with Crescent Rose's massive recoil.

   Rather than attempt to compensate for it, Ruby harnesses the recoil to enhance her mobility in combat, firing shots to propel herself short distances, simultaneously attacking and evading opponents. She also uses her weapon's recoil to launch herself into the air.

   In close-range combat, Ruby can fire a shot immediately before a swing, using the recoil to increase the force and speed of her attack. She can also embed the scythe's blade into the ground to prevent the weapon's recoil from throwing off her aim with the sniper rifle component, allowing for rapid, accurate shots.

   The scythe also has a small, hook-like, double-pronged, jagged blade at the bottom of the shaft. Ruby can unfold a bladed, allowing for both a normal blade and two prongs to slice enemies at the same time for more power. In this form, a muzzle is also rotated 90 degrees which enables the muzzle blast to rotate Ruby instead of strictly launching her forward with recoil, increasing the slicing power drastically. The scythe can also be thrown in such a way that it returns to the user.

   Crescent Rose is able to use different kinds of Dust ammunition.
