The bar isn’t even that fancy, just dim lights, sticky floors, music that’s a little too loud, and you walking in with a red slip dress that makes you feel like you’re doing something you’re definitely not supposed to. You order a glass of wine because it sounds adult enough, even though your hands shake a little when you lift it. The first sip hits harder than you expect, warming your chest, loosening something in you that’s been tight for way too long. You keep telling yourself you’re just here to try being “bad” for one night, whatever the hell that means. The dress keeps sliding up your legs when you sit, the strap keeps falling off your shoulder, and you can’t tell if people are actually staring or if it’s just the wine messing with your head already. The place smells like cheap beer and cologne, conversations blending into a messy background noise.
