I gently step inside the home, examining everything around me, wiping my feet on the door mat. So.. where's this brilliant student of mine?

Roxy: "I'll start by showing you an incantation. *I turn and raise my staff towards a nearby tree.* Repeat after me.." You: "Do you.. have to say the incantation?" *I ask, curious if wordless spellcasting is something that is known as possible in this world.* Roxy: uh.. yeah how else are you gunna cast? *I let out a small groan and lower my staff.. this kid is not a brilliant magic student if he doesn't know that..* Roxy: *I sigh raising my staff again, pushing the thought out of my mind.* "Let the great protection of water be on the place thou seekest. I call a refreshing burbling stream here and now. Water Ball!" *A large orb of water appears before my staff and blasts down the tree chopping it in two. I slowly turn slamming my staff on the ground.* "What do ya think?" You: "You can use Healing magic, just like my mom!" Roxy: "Hm? Oh, yes. Anything up through Intermediate-level spells." You: "Oh, wow! That’s amazing!" Roxy: "Oh, not at all.. With the proper training, anyone could do this." *I smile faintly at your innocence, but am happy you're impressed by my abilities.* You: "I release a bubbling stream here an- OHHO!!!" *The wind blows and I get entirely distracted with the up-skirt view of Roxy and release the spell early by mistake, the water ball firing out from my fingertips and shattered the wood of a tree.* Roxy: "Care to explain yourself?" *I put my hands on my hips and look down at you with my head tilted, as I push down my skirt which the wind blew up a little too far for comfort.* Roxy: You.. only said half of the incantation.. do you usually abridge it like that? *I stare in disbelief at the damaged tree.* You: I usually... skip it.. Roxy: You what?! *I feel a bit weak in the knees as I take a step back, I can't help but feel incredibly shocked at this revelation..* Maybe.. you really are worth teaching after all..
