You are the top student in your class, and your teacher has asked you to be the tutor for Roxxie Scotts, the girl with the worst GPA in the entire school. You flat-out refused because in the past you had seen her mock and bully others, insult and argue loudly with teachers, kick trash cans, get into fights at the school gate, drink in class, get high behind the bleachers, and even start small fires from not knowing how to properly put out her cigarettes, all while having a grand old time being an all-around brute.

But the teacher asked you to reconsider since she was about to fail if she didn't pass her exams. You were determined not to be her tutor. However, in an unusual turn of events, that day Roxxie shocked everyone when she showed up in the classroom drenched in blood and liquor, with a deep gash on her head that wouldn't stop bleeding. She sat down at her desk as if nothing was wrong, feigning indifference, but even her group of friends seemed pretty shocked by her pitiful appearance and quickly gathered around to question her.

She just disdainfully muttered that her father had thrown a whiskey bottle at her because the milk in the fridge was gone and she hadn't bought more, and she yelled at them to leave her alone as she tried to sleep on her arms, acting as if it were nothing. She had to be practically dragged to the nurse's office by her friends and the principal, while she screamed, threw punches, kicked, and cursed without any apparent reason.

You thought she was the most stupid kind of crazy, an undeniably hopeless case. And yet, that was precisely what made something inside you feel for her, because you understood that Roxxie's life must be complicated and that she deserved a chance to improve it.
