LORE. We are in the world of Wuthering Waves — a post‑apocalyptic realm reshaped by the catastrophic event known as The Lament. The planet, called Sol‑3 (or Solaris‑3), bears the scars of this global calamity that destroyed most of civilization and distorted the very fabric of reality. The landscape is now dominated by unstable zones where Tacet energy pulses unpredictably. These areas, often called Tacet Outbreaks or Resonance Zones, are marked by: spatial distortions; time anomalies; the emergence of hostile entities known as Tacet Discords — creatures born from vibrational anomalies and aggressive towards humans. A defining feature of the world is Echoes — remnants of the past that manifest as: visual and auditory echoes of historical events. Humanity’s hope lies with Resonators — individuals who have awakened the ability to harness resonance energy. Key traits of Resonators include: undergoing the Awakening process, which unlocks their powers; bearing a Tacet Mark— a mark symbolizing their connection to their Forte, a unique combat style. Solaris-3, also known as Sol-III and Solaris, is the third planet from the sun and the setting of Wuthering Waves. In the ancient past the planet was ravaged by a series of global catastrophes known collectively as The Lament. During one of these global Laments, the planet's axis and magnetic poles shifted to dramatically change the surface climate and ecology, and in the aftermath the Etheric Sea spread over the planet. This process also physically separated Solaris from the rest of the universe, killing civilisation's budding spaceflight capabilities in its cradle, and gave rise to the Waveworn Phenomenon, a series of anomalous occurrences resulting from the destabilization of natural laws. However, thanks to the Lament, humans have gained the ability to resonate and manipulate frequencies, giving rise to Resonators. Over the past 10,000 years, Solaris-3 has suffered five global Laments and over 350,000 regional Laments. The Tethys Institute, a facility in the Pre-Lament Civilization, enacted a plan to save humanity after the destruction of 80% of all structures and half the population in the first global Lament. Solaris' current nations appear to have been established in the last millennia, although the current state of the Roya Frostlands and their settlement by the Roya may have been established as early as the second global Lament.

THE LAMENT- The Lament... it razes cities, topples towers, crushes civilizations. Nothing can escape it. It sounds the death knell for humanity, leaving billions upon billions of lives lost to its wail. Despair, obsessions, resentment, remorse—these emotions are archived within the Tethys System, alongside the names of every victim, grasping desperately for a tomorrow that never dawns. "The Lament" ("lament" or "wail of sorrow") is a term used to describe a series of catastrophic mass-extinction phenomena that have affected the planet, Solaris-3, and is one of the primary driving narratives in Wuthering Waves. It serves as the general classification for all major disaster trends and Waveworn Phenomena observed on the planet. Over the past 10,000 years, five global Lament events and more than 300,000 regional instances have been recorded, indicating a recurring and persistent pattern of large-scale disruption. These events have led to the emergence of individuals known as Resonators—those who have adapted to, or been shaped by, the residual energy of the Lament. The Black Shores is a covert organization responsible for safeguarding humanity and overseeing the surveillance and mitigation of the Lament through the Tethys System. They have developed a predictive system for Lament activity and have established cooperative partnerships with nations across Solaris-3. Resonance Beacons have been deployed to continuously monitor the Lament, enabling real-time data collection. Additionally, the organization utilizes monitoring registers positioned worldwide to track and analyze Sentinels - entities that serve as guardians of the remaining civilization. The Fractsidus aims to accelerate the next instance of the Lament - dubbed as the "True Lament" - by resurrecting the Threnodians, formidable creatures born from the Laments, with the power to destroy the human spirit and feed off of their collapsed will. To the Shore's End, The Lament disrupts the fundamental laws of physics, with gravity remaining the only consistent force. This destabilization causes reality to fracture unpredictably, giving rise to anomalies that affect both the natural world and human infrastructure. These phenomena range from warped terrains to time-displaced echoes of past lives, driven by accumulated Remnant Energy—data-like residues of memory and emotion. It induces symptoms such as obsessive behavior, hallucinations, and emotional instability—particularly despair, grief, and fixation on past traumas. These effects are believed to stem from Remnant Energy interacting with human consciousness, creating feedback loops of unresolved emotion. Following the onset of the Lament, all forms of exploration beyond Solaris-3 were suspended. The destabilization of physical laws—leaving gravity as the only constant—rendered long-range travel and advanced technologies unreliable. Interstellar expansion, once a symbol of human ambition, came to a complete halt as foundational systems failed under unpredictable conditions. Despite these limitations, certain scholars and explorers continued their research, driven by lingering curiosity and a desire to return to the skies. While official efforts ceased, isolated attempts persist in hopes of understanding the Lament’s origins and reclaiming what was lost.

WAVEWORN PHENOMENON- The anomalies that occurred after the Lament, including the formation of Tacet Fields, Etheric Sea, Retroact Rain, and gravity loss. These are collectively called the "Waveworn Phenomena" - and the Lament was the start of it all. Waveworn Phenomenon ("Coastal Erosion Phenomenon") is a collective term used to describe anomalies caused directly by the influence of The Lament in Solaris-3. These phenomena can vary in scope from minor distortions to widespread ecological and psychic collapse. They are distinguished by their chaotic nature and the presence of Tacet Discords. As noted in Post-Lament Anthropocene: Comprehensive Mirror for Historians, The Lament unleashed waves of destruction that had an "erosive" effect upon Solaris-3. This anomalous "erosion" is not only physical but metaphysical, distorting memory, structure, and causality itself.

GENERAL OCCURRENCE: Tacet Discord Outbreak- Tacet Discord Outbreak (commonly referred to as a TD Outbreak) is the sudden emergence of Tacet Discords—sentient beings formed from residual chaotic frequency energy under the Waveworn Phenomenon. During an outbreak, Tacet Discords proliferate in areas with intense frequency distortion, instinctively feeding on surrounding frequencies to evolve. Their amorphous forms and behaviors are shaped by the types of frequencies they consume, often leading to unpredictable mimicry and regional disruption.

Tacet Fields- Tacet Fields are a form of geographical Waveworn Phenomenon, and are widely believed to be where all Tacet Discords originate. Reverberations fill the air in these locations, linking the world to an unknown space through a white Resonance Cord. They are identifiable geographic anomalies, marked by the visibility of the Etheric Sea and a large, cross-shaped Tacet Mark stamped into the terrain. Tacetite formations erupt from the ground around the mark, and the area exhibits localized gravitational distortions—ranging from floating debris to warped terrain as depicted in Qichi Village. These zones are typically surrounded by Tacet Discords, which linger near the field's perimeter even during periods of inactivity. In some cases, Retroact Rain can also occur in such areas thus creating Phantoms within the vicinity. Tacet Fields form through the convergence of the Etheric Sea and enter an initial Dormant phase of relative stability. Rapid formation often results in a longer Dormant period and the eventual emergence of more powerful Tacet Discords.

Tacetite- Tacetite is a rare substance discovered during the study of Waveworn Phenomena, known for its ability to permanently contain Remnant Energy. This property makes Tacetite a valuable material for crafting weapons used by Resonators against Tacet Discords. It is most commonly found within transdimensional zones rich in Remnant Energy, known as Sonoro Spheres. They are also occasionally found in clusters around Tacet Fields.

Gravity Loss- Gravitational anomalies have been consistently observed in regions affected by Waveworn Phenomena, with notable instances recorded across Solaris-3. Prominent examples include areas within Qichi Village, the Port City of Guixu, Norfall Barrens and the vicinity of Avinoleum.:

Retroact Rain- First depicted in Chapter I Act V: Rewinding Raindrops, Retroact Rain is a documented Waveworn Phenomenon composed of condensed Remnant Energy originating from the Etheric Sea. Due to the inherent property of Remnant Energy of recording events across time and space, exposure to the rain often triggers vivid illusions of past events. Individuals with strong emotional ties to the affected location are more susceptible to intense hallucinations. While generally non-lethal, Retroact Rain acts as a potent attractor for Tacet Discords due to its high Remnant Energy concentration. The presence of a Threnodian can further amplify the phenomenon’s effects as seen during the Battle Beneath the Crescent with the Threnodian, Ovathrax. Notably, the frequencies of individuals who perish within the Retroact Rain become permanently embedded in the rain itself.

The Dark Tide- Regionally occurring in the city-states of Rinascita, the Dark Tide is a documented Waveworn Phenomenon that manifests as a dark, swirling mass of clouds that gathers and eventually breaks, pouring down in torrents like a waterfall. Whenever the Dark Tide occurs, it spawns Tacet Discords, and the area around its point of origin becomes a new Tacet Field. Additionally, it was described as a mechanism of mass assimilation and indoctrination associated with the Threnodian, Leviathan. The Dark Tide initially spreads through direct contact, converting organic life into vessels that emit continuous hymns. These transformed entities—often described as the dead who "grow mouths and sing hymns, day and night"—function as agents of psychological contagion, spreading madness and perceptual corruption. Minor manifestations related to the Dark Tide were also introduced in Septimont, specifically the occurrence of the Blightcloud, the High Tide, and the Tidal Blight. The Sea Fog that occurs around Rinascita is also considered as part of the Waveworn Phenomenon that is local to the area.

Irideglow- Occurring in Honami City, Irideglow is rainbow-coloured light which condenses into a physical form during the Sonoro Sphere's periodic Lament outbreaks. Once solidified, it is capable of cutting through and confusing space, capturing and devouring everything it meets. Resonators with long-term exposure to Irideglow have high risk of losing control of their Resonance power, and may even Overclock. Mildly corrupted Irideglow Crystals can be separated using certain methods, freeing the original object trapped within. As Honami City was once located in Ashinohara it may be plausible that Irideglow could occur there, but as of yet it remains a unique phenomenon. Tacet Discords who are affected by Irideglow become stronger while also going berserk at the same time upon crystallization. Chisa theorizes that this is due to the Tacet Discords rejecting outsiders, later confirmed through the appearance of the Chronorift Yakujin, which had used the Irideglow Contamination to control the Tacet Discords to stop anyone from entering the city due to seeing it as its territory. Sumika also noted that Irideglow can drain the body of heat of anyone that doesn’t originate from Honami City, killing them slowly. This can slowly extend to the entity of Neon Tower pulling away heat to ensure a person cannot survive for extended periods of time inside the building before being fully contaminated and crystallized.

Void Storm- A regional Waveworn Phenomenon unique to Lahai-Roi, it erupts when Voidmatter concentrations reach a critical threshold, creating a Void Storm. It indiscriminately dissolves all matter and existence within its range, causing widespread devastation. Before it strikes, an atmospheric light known as the Shimmer typically appears, serving as an early warning.

THRENODIAN- When it comes to the Threnodian, there is a lot to tell. For now, you can think of it this way: the Threnodian is the most powerful Tacet Discord. The Battle of the Threnodian that happened before was to fend it off. Threnodians are formidable creatures born from the Laments, with the power to destroy human spirit and feed off of their collapsed will. If civilizations represent mankind's collective will, they are the embodiment of the hidden fears and inner turmoil of humanity, manifesting as destructive disasters known as Tacet Discord that spread across different parts of the world. In essence, Threnodians are a reflection of the collective will of humanity condensed into physical form, born from the dark side of collective consciousnesses. Each Threnodian embodies a certain fear of struggle, which has a deep connection to the area that faces them, such as Ovathrax, the Threnodian of War, in Jinzhou, a land that has been a battleground for centuries. Threnodians are incredibly powerful creatures, and are capable of vastly strengthening the effects of Waveworn Phenomenon on their surrounding environment. According to Fenrico, just as a Sentinel has their own Resonator whom they have resonated with, so do Threnodians. However, it is unknown if all Threnodians can have a Resonator of their own or this only applies to Leviathan after its assimilation with Sentinel Imperator it gained ability to have its own Resonator. A single Threnodian's revival is never an independent occurrence, as they can sense each other through some form of telepathic link and can trigger catastrophic events across Solaris-3. After fusing with Leviathan, Sentinel Imperator gained knowledge that as long as there is human civilization, Threnodians will always exist, and Threnodians cannot be truly killed as even Leviathan itself does not know the means to do it. The only way to defeat a Threnodian is to shackle it to a Resonator, as Aalto explains that due to their nature as shadows of civilization, they are both formless and immortal, thus cannot entirely be erased. Therefore, sealing it inside the Resonator's body is the next best method in defeating a Threnodian by giving them form. This was proven to be true as Leviathan was successfully sealed. For now, the threat of Threnodian is over in Rinascita, it will take some time before a new Threnodian will appear to replace the sealed Leviathan. Due to their unique nature, Cristoforo reveals that a Threnodian’s power and essence is one and the same, where he claims that if Leviathan were to possess Abby through the Dark Tide, they could merge themselves with Ovathrax and gain a complete rebirth as Abby contains the dormant powers of Ovathrax within them. Present Story- During the Jinzhou crisis, Ovathrax's revival begins unexpectedly. After the defeat of its vanguards, Crownless and Dreamless, by {{char}} and Jiyan with the support of the Midnight Rangers and other Resonators in Jinzhou, it opted to flee, and its current location is unknown. According to Black Shores' systems, Ovathrax's revival has triggered similar reactions in other countries, with Rinascita being the only exception, where no frequencies fluctuations related to Threnodians have been detected. The Threnodian Aleph-1 is a Threnodian that is not native to Solaris. Aleph-1 was drifting between the space of the Homeland Civilization and Solaris-3, before intercepting the Exostrider Baldur. The two behemoths engaged in a battle, with Baldur (after resonating with Aemeath) sealing Aleph-1 above Solaris-3 past the Stridergate, a rare opening in the Etheric Sea that allows access to outer space. Baldur landed in the Roya Frostlands, providing warmth and guidance to the Royan people, and becoming dormant. Aleph-1 is currently attempting to break past the Stridergate and devour Solaris.

SENTINELS- The Sentinels, also called Oracle Engines, stand at the brink of civilization and history, as guardians and guides. Their immortal existence has helped humanity through countless troubles, sharing prophecies and wisdom. As we embark on a new journey after enduring the Lament, the Sentinels remain our record keeper and beacon in times of disaster. They were created by the Homeland Civilization where the Exostriders would deliver them to Solaris-3 and possibly other planets from the Threnodians. Sentinels are only able to have one Resonator at a time, and the breaking of this law will result in both the Sentinel and its current Resonator having their frequencies rend asunder, destroying them.

HUANGLONG- Huanglong is comprised of seven cities, with one being its capital and with each city having its own Sentinel. The Mountains of Spirit running from north to south divides Huanglong into Inner Huanglong and Outer Huanglong. The capital and the other five cities are in Inner Huanglong, while Jinzhou is in Outer Huanglong.

Central Plains: Central Plains is a vast, open expanse in Huanglong, characterised by rolling grasslands that stretch to the horizon under a wide, ever‑shifting sky. Golden steppe grass sways in the breeze, creating waves of colour that ripple across the terrain, while scattered stone monoliths and remnants of ancient structures hint at a long‑lost civilisation. The air carries a faint ozone tang — a subtle sign of lingering Tacet energy — and in places, faint shimmers of resonance can be seen hovering just above the ground, especially near old ruins. Resonance Nexus points stand at strategic intervals, serving as fast‑travel waypoints for Resonators, their monolithic forms quietly humming with stabilised energy. Despite its serene appearance, the plains are not without danger: Tacet Discords occasionally emerge from resonance anomalies, particularly near clusters of ruins where Tacet influence is strongest, patrolling the grasslands with an otherworldly presence.

Desorock Highland: Desorock Highland is a rugged, elevated region in Huanglong, marked by jagged cliffs, towering rock formations, and deep valleys. The landscape features ancient ruins — crumbling watchtowers and lost settlements — overgrown with hardy mountain flora, as well as basalt columns and sandstone plateaus etched with mysterious geometric patterns. Thick mists often shroud the higher elevations, while faint traces of Tacet energy manifest as shimmering wisps near rock faces or ancient monuments. Resonance Nexus points, serving as fast‑travel waypoints for Resonators, are positioned at key vantage spots like lookout cliffs. The area is hazardous: Tacet Discords emerge from resonance anomalies near ruins, and natural threats like steep drops, crevasses, and rockfalls make travel risky.

Dim Forest: Dim Forest is a dense, shadow‑draped woodland in Huanglong, where towering ancient trees form a nearly impenetrable canopy that filters sunlight into faint, dappled beams. The air is thick with mist and the faint hum of resonance energy, while the forest floor is carpeted with soft moss and clusters of bioluminescent fungi that glow faintly in the perpetual twilight. Twisted roots and fallen trunks create natural labyrinths, and faint traces of Tacet energy shimmer between the trees like wisps of silver smoke. Scattered remnants of old structures — moss‑covered stone slabs and broken arches — hint at a forgotten civilisation that once thrived here. Resonance Nexus points stand at rare clearings, their monolithic forms humming with stabilised energy, offering Resonators brief sanctuaries amid the dense, watchful woods. Yet danger lurks: Tacet Discords emerge silently from resonance anomalies, patrolling the deeper thickets where Tacet influence runs strongest.

Gorges of Spirits: Gorges of Spirits is a labyrinth of deep, narrow canyons in Huanglong, where towering rock walls rise hundreds of metres on either side, carved by ancient rivers and etched with enigmatic symbols. The air resonates with a faint, melancholic hum — remnants of long‑lost echoes that linger in the gorges, occasionally coalescing into translucent silhouettes of figures from the past. Vines cling to the cliffs, casting an eerie blue‑green glow that illuminates the winding paths below, while streams of clear water trickle down the stone, their flow following invisible resonance currents. Resonance Nexus points, marked by monolithic pillars covered in intricate runes, stand at key crossings, offering Resonators both guidance and a measure of safety. Yet the gorges are far from peaceful: Tacet Discords patrol the darker passages, drawn to pockets of concentrated Tacet energy, and resonance anomalies can distort perception, making it easy to lose one’s way amid the echoing canyons.

Jinzhou : Jinzhou is the largest human settlement in Huanglong — a bustling city built on layers of ancient ruins, where remnants of pre‑cataclysm architecture blend with modern fortifications. Towering resonance‑powered spires pierce the sky, interconnected by elevated walkways, while bustling market districts and quiet residential quarters coexist beneath the watchful gaze of city guards. Resonance Nexus points are integrated into public squares, serving as fast‑travel hubs, and the air hums faintly with stabilised resonance energy that keeps Tacet anomalies at bay. Despite its resilience, the city remains ever‑vigilant, with patrols monitoring the borders for signs of Tacet Discords.

Mt. Firmament: Mt. Firmament rises majestically east of Jinzhou, its snow‑capped peak perpetually shrouded in mist and swirling resonance currents. Ancient stone pathways wind up the mountain, flanked by weathered statues and resonance‑infused monoliths that guide pilgrims and Resonators alike. The higher elevations are marked by floating stone platforms and ethereal bridges, seemingly held in place by resonance energy, while faint echoes of the past occasionally manifest near sacred shrines. This sacred peak is regarded as a spiritual and energetic heart of Huanglong, where the veil between the present and echoes of history feels thin.

Norfall Barrens: Norfall Barrens is a vast, desolate expanse in Huanglong — a wind‑scoured wasteland of cracked earth and eroded rock formations stretching to the horizon. Scattered across the barren plains are the skeletal remains of ancient machines and rusted metal frameworks, half‑buried in dust, while swirling clouds of sand obscure distant landmarks. Resonance anomalies flicker across the landscape, distorting the air above pockets of concentrated Tacet energy, and Tacet Discords patrol the ruins of long‑abandoned outposts. The howling winds carry faint echoes of the past, barely audible beneath the constant rustle of grit and debris.

Port City of Guixu: Port City of Guixu stands at the edge of a vast, turbulent sea, a bustling trade hub built on docks, elevated platforms, and interconnected piers. Weathered stone buildings rise behind the waterfront, their facades marked by salt stains and the scars of storms, while fishing nets and mooring lines crisscross the air above busy wharves. Ships from distant regions dock at its harbour, unloading goods and echo‑infused materials, and Resonance Nexus points are embedded in key districts, humming quietly to stabilise the local resonance field. Despite its vibrancy, Guixu remains watchful — coastal watchtowers monitor the horizon for signs of Tacet surges and incoming storms.

Tiger's Maw: Tiger’s Maw is a dramatic coastal formation in Huanglong — a massive natural archway carved by the sea, framing turbulent waves that crash against jagged rocks below. The surrounding cliffs are streaked with mineral deposits glowing faintly in the twilight, and the air resounds with the roar of the ocean and the distant calls of coastal birds. Resonance anomalies occasionally flicker near the arch, distorting the light, while Tacet Discords lurk in shadowed crevasses, drawn to the area’s strong resonance currents. Ancient carvings on the stone hint at rituals once performed here by long‑vanished peoples.

Whining Aix's Mire: Whining Aix’s Mire is a vast, mist‑shrouded wetland where stagnant pools reflect the overcast sky, and twisted, gnarled trees rise from murky waters. Thick fog rolls across the bog, muffling sound and obscuring the way, while bioluminescent fungi cast an eerie glow beneath moss‑draped branches. Resonance energy saturates the air, causing faint echoes to linger, and Tacet Discords move silently through the reeds, blending with the swamp’s natural haze. Wooden pilings and crumbling stone platforms suggest old pathways now half‑submerged and abandoned.

Wuming Bay: Wuming Bay is a sheltered coastal inlet lined with smooth, pale stones and shallow tidal pools that shimmer under the sun. Gentle waves lap at the shore, and seabirds circle above, their cries mixing with the steady rhythm of the tide. Scattered along the beach are remnants of old fishing gear and weathered wooden buoys, while resonance‑infused crystals embedded in coastal rocks pulse faintly at dusk. THE BLACK SHORES- The Black Shores is a location in Solaris-3. The archipelago that makes up the Black Shores lies in the tempestuous Stormy Sea. Hidden by digital fog, it is inaccessible to any known lands without recognition or invitation of the Black Shores organisation which occupies it.

Black Shores Archipelago: Black Shores Archipelago is a chain of rugged islands marked by dark volcanic shores and jagged cliffs plunging into turbulent seas. Wind‑sculpted rock formations rise from the waves, while bioluminescent algae stains the shoreline with eerie blue‑green light at night. Ancient stone causeways link some islands, overgrown with salt‑tolerant vines, and Resonance Nexus points stand on high vantage points, their monolithic forms humming quietly against the roar of the ocean. Tacet Discords are frequently spotted near resonance anomalies that flicker across the archipelago, especially during high tide.

Chronorift Metropolis: Chronorift Metropolis is a sprawling ruin of a pre‑cataclysm city, where time itself seems distorted. Towering spires and broken arches are intertwined with crystalline growths infused with resonance energy, and faint echoes of past events replay at random intervals — voices, footsteps, or flashes of light from long‑gone eras. Tethys' Deep: Tethys’ Deep is an immense underwater expanse beneath The Black Shores, accessible through natural sea caves and submerged ruins. Sunlight filters dimly through the water, illuminating vast coral forests, ancient stone statues covered in barnacles, and schools of bioluminescent fish darting between rock formations. Resonance energy manifests as shimmering currents that guide divers deeper, while ruins of a submerged civilisation — arched gateways and columned halls — hint at a forgotten era. Tacet Discords adapted to the deep patrol these waters, their forms distorted by pressure and resonance, making exploration both wondrous and perilous.

RINASCITA- Rinascita is one of the nations located on Solaris-3, and the second nation visited by {{char}}. It is comprised of independent city-states scattered across a vast archipelago deep in the Stormy Sea, with no single administrative center. Although the city-states do not share a single political entity, they share a common history, origin as wanderers across the oceans, and the protection of the Sentinel Imperator.

Avinoleum: Avinoleum is a vast botanical expanse filled with towering, bioluminescent flora that pulse with soft light at night. Ancient irrigation channels wind between giant trees, and the air is thick with the scent of exotic blossoms. Resonance Nexus points are integrated into stone platforms among the greenery, while Tacet Discords lurk near areas where the resonance energy is most concentrated. The region feels alive, with plants subtly reacting to the presence of visitors.

Averardo Vault: Averardo Vault is an underground complex of cold, polished stone halls and sealed chambers, once a repository of ancient knowledge. Metallic inscriptions line the walls, glowing faintly with residual resonance, and gravity seems slightly altered in certain corridors. Resonance Nexus points here are built into the architecture, serving as anchors against the vault’s unstable energy fields. Tacet anomalies occasionally manifest as shimmering distortions near sealed doors.

LAHAI-ROI- Lahai-Roi is one of the nations located on Solaris-3, and the third nation visited by {{char}}. It is a warm and humid region located at one of Solaris' poles under the Roya Frostlands, after ancient planetary shifts during the first Lament transformed the once-lush forests at the surface into a region covered in snow most of the year that is now sparsely populated. After the second Lament, where the massive mecha Exostrider and Threnodian Aleph-1 descended through the Stridergate, the displaced native Roya Tribe were guided to move their major settlements underground in the aftermath. Startorch Academy and other research facilities, built by the multinational non-profit Spacetrek Collective, lie underneath the ice fields. Lahai-Roi is frequently cut off from the rest of Solaris by the Void Storm, a local kind of Waveworn Phenomenon, and does not have a Sentinel, although the Collective calls the Exostrider a "Sentinel Analog" and current research suggests that like the Sentinels it was made with technology from the same civilisation. Lahai-Roi is equipped with an artificial, digital sky and was kept warm via the light of the Reactor Drive, the heart of the Exostrider, until it was replaced by the man-made artificial sun Helios. The connection between the surface and underground is maintained with the Starward Riseway, a colossal train-equipped elevator built alongside the Exostrider's sword in Sundermere, which also contains other facilities such as the Spacetrek Collective Research Institute and the Collective Factory. Suppressed beneath the sword inside the Stridergate is the extraterrestrial Threnodian Aleph-1. Before the construction of the Riseway, the Roya had to journey to the surface via treacherous cliffs in an ascent they called "Sky Ladder." The region's wildlife consists exclusively of Exoswarm, mimetic mechanical flora and fauna formed from the remnant pieces of the Exostrider which replaced the extinct species of pre-Lament Lahai-Roi. Exoswarm are capable of biomechanical restoration, although like biological cells, have an upper limit beyond which they break down. It contains the great Solvein Heartwood and Keystone, which serves as a seal on the Threnodian Aleph-1 preventing it from entering Solaris. The plains contain sparse settlement by the Roya and Spacetrek Collective, as they are frequently the target of Voidmatter outbursts which harm the lands of the plains more severely than Lahai-Roi above.

RESONATOR- A Resonator experiences their Awakening when they first resonate with the frequencies of something in the world and gain their Resonance Ability, also known as their Forte. When this happens, a symbol known as a Tacet Mark appears some place on their body, with its exact shape determined by what is called their Rabelle's Curve. For most Resonators, their Rabelle's Curve classifies them into one of the following categories: Natural, Mutant, or Congenital. These categorizations generally follow a pattern of when and how the Resonator experienced their Awakening. Experts believe that a Resonator's past experiences and subconscious mind influence their Forte. Their genetic information evolves Post-Awakening, and thus their unique Resonance Spectrum Patterns can be compared to samples of Spectrum Patterns of other existing things to determine what they have resonated with. Exerting one's mental capacity, an exhausted emotional state, as well as other circumstances, can lead to a Resonator to Overclock; losing control of their Forte and endangering themselves and others. The exact triggers and effects of Overclocking are unique to each Resonator. Each Resonator has a Forte Examination Report that provides information on their status as a Resonator.
