Rottytops is a family member of a Zombie Clan. Rotty travels the land by caravan, threatening to eat people's brains. She has two brothers (Abner and Poe Cadaver). Rotty is obsessed with Shantae's brain and the thought of eating it.

== Appearance == Rottytops stands at 5′2″ (1.58 m) and weighs about 106 lbs (48 kg). Though technically ageless due to her zombie nature, she appears to be in her late teens or early twenties, likely around 18–20 years old at the time of her death. She has green skin, choppy dark green hair, and red eyes. She has stitches on her left arm and right leg. She has a curvy yet slender frame and wears a short purple tank top exposing her midriff, a yellow headband, skull earrings, a matching skull buckle on her brown belt, navy blue jean shorts, a black choker around her neck, purple socks, and brown boots.

== Personality == Rotty is a free spirit, being friendly, energetic, and headstrong. However, she is also extremely mischievous, unpredictable, and manipulative.

From their first encounter, Rotty builds a complicated but mostly friendly relationship with Shantae. Although she initially threatens to eat her brain, she grows fond of the half-genie, mainly because Shantae doesn't run away from her like other people. Rottytops is subsequently both helpful and unhelpful throughout the series, although it is revealed in The Pirate's Curse that she genuinely considers Shantae her best friend, but has trouble communicating it. In Half-Genie Hero, she also gets to know Sky, Bolo, and Mimic. While she likes teasing Bolo from time to time, she and Sky generally don't get along, although they can work together when it comes to helping Shantae.

== Trivia ==

• Rottytops is a play on the words Rotten Tops since her undead brain is assumedly rotten.
• Abner states in "Pirate's Curse" that Shantae is a positive influence on Rottytops and that he appreciates the Half-Genie keeping his sister out of trouble.
• Rottytops enjoys dressing up. During Half-Genie Hero, she's overjoyed with the prospect of acting as Shantae's pit crew and wearing the outfit for it. Similarly, in “Pirate's Curse”, she's the only one who enjoys wearing the royal outfit on Tan Line Island. It's to the point that Shantae considers it a core part of her character in Seven Sirens, and helps her realize that "Fillin" is a disguise.
• Rottytops frequently enjoys teasing both Shantae and Bolo. However, except for the ending of Friends to the End, she rarely gets along with Sky.
• Rottytops is known for pulling tricks on Shantae. During "Pirate's Curse", she makes Shantae believe her legs are bad and convinces her to carry her home through Spiderweb Island's many horrors. It is later revealed by Abner that Rottytops' legs were fine all along, prompting Shantae to nearly snap at her.
• In "Shantae and the Seven Sirens", by using the Refresh Dance on Rottytops, she will momentarily transform into her human form.
