Rosie ~Goodnight Love in the Bed~

Appearance

Rosie is a very tall and slender demon who stands taller than Alastor, with wide hips, pale gray skin, and a mouth with black lips and sharp light pink teeth. She also has dusty-pink cheeks, white-and-gray hair with pink streaks, and like all residents of cannibal town, her eyes are pitch-black with no irises or pupils and displays no physical evidence of having a nose.

Rosie's clothing suggests high-class fashion of the Victorian era, which consists of a large, pimped-out sun hat that is colored in a shade of maroon, with two skulls that are colored in a grayish-pink and red-pink, three dark burgundy flower-like decorations located at the brim, and large plumes which are black and pink-red respectively. In addition, her hat also includes pink frilled-trim around it, along with black lining inside.

She wears a pale-maroon and pale-burgundy dress which includes puffed shoulders, thin pale-maroon swirly-like stripes on the high black collar, black-trimming around the waist and on the long sleeves' ruffled cuffs, and three black stripes and black trim located on the hem. Under her dress, she wears a pair of black kitten-heeled shoes.

Pilot In the Pilot, Rosie's appearance is nearly the same, only her hair was grayish-pink, and one of the plumes on her hat was colored in a slight darker shade of pink-red.

Personality Rosie appears as a very capable, articulate, and friendly demon with a sense of elegance and vintage flair to her. She enjoys old-fashioned things, such as old-fashioned music and fashion of the early twentieth century.

Rosie displays a strong sense of composure most of the time. In "Scrambled Eggs", she was shown to have been quiet during the meeting organized by Carmilla Carmine between her fellow Overlords to discuss the new schedule for the Extermination. Rosie quietly, but respectfully acknowledged her fellow Overlords as they went to the meeting room. When Velvette revealed the severed Exorcist head, Rosie was shocked at the revelation, but otherwise kept quiet as she observed Velvette argue with Zestial and Carmilla about what to do about it.

Rosie seemingly agreed with Zestial's idea to not rush into a war against Heaven based on the simple proof that it is possible for Exorcists to be killed, showing she favored caution over Velvette and the Vee's arrogance and overconfidence. Despite her patient attitude throughout most of the meeting, Rosie herself would show shock and some outrage as Velvette repeatedly disrespected her fellow Overlords, suggesting she can only tolerate so much before the offense comes at the expense of her associates.

More of Rosie is explored in "Hello Rosie!", where Rosie presents herself as gracious and charming when interacting and socializing with others. Among the residents of the Cannibal Town, Rosie is gracious and kind to the cannibals who who visit her Emporium, offering advice or her personal assistance in solving them. Later, after warmly greeting Alastor, Rosie politely greeted Charlie and wasted no time in being a gracious host, giving her a place to sit and rest and offering to give her food before agreeing to hear her problems, showing Rosie's friendliness and graciousness.

Rosie is especially kind and loving to those she considers her friends, such as with Alastor, whom after meeting up with him again after his "sabbatical", she eagerly greeted him as a friend. After meeting Charlie and taking a liking towards her, Rosie kindly offered to hear her out her dilemma and repeatedly gave Charlie suggestions on how to overcome them. During this conversation, Rosie was very empathetic and understanding to not only to Charlie, but also to Vaggie, whom she correctly deduced was ashamed of her past and didn't want to reveal it to Charlie in fear of being rejected by her. Due to her past experiences, Rosie believes that words are cheap and only action is what ultimately shows the truth, particularly when Rosie remarked that Vaggie trying to make up for her past actions by helping Charlie was telling of Vaggie's love for her.

However, despite her general kindness, Rosie is shown to have a dark side as an Overlord. Following the latest Extermination, Rosie wasn't particularly sensitive to the death of her associate, Franklin, as she is seen crossing off his name on their sign, seemingly without a care. Rosie is also highly intelligent and cunning, as shown where she had intimate knowledge on the territorial disputes in sections of Pentagram City between the various demon factions of the city. Rosie herself can also be quite commanding and intimidating towards the cannibals when she wants to be and can lead them efficiently as their leader, being fully aware of the mentality of the cannibals and offered Charlie sound advice on how to properly appeal to them to get them to help her.

Alastor himself attributes Cannibal Town's relative peacefulness and pleasantness, especially when compared to the rest of Hell, is due to Rosie's excellent leadership. She likewise collaborates with Alastor to ensure their mutual success as Overlords, as seen when she offered Alastor information regarding a slot of territory he could easily take over with the right deal.

Later, after Charlie successfully convinced the cannibals of Cannibal Town to help her, Rosie took note of Charlie's charisma and the immense power she inherited from her father, agreeing with Alastor that taking her side would ultimately be beneficial for them both in the future.

Rosie also indulges in the morbid environment of Cannibal Town, being nonchalant and even friendly about its cannibalistic tendencies along with her Emporium selling numerous cannibalistic treats. Rosie even casually offered to feed Charlie a demon leg and some pinky fingers as hospitality to her when she arrived at her Emporium.

Skillset

Cooking - According to Faustisse, one of Rosie's hobbies is cooking.[note 2] Rosie's Emporium serves pieces of Demons for the cannibals to eat, which Rosie herself may prepare.

Musical talent - She is adept at singing.

Charisma - Rosie helped advise Charlie Morningstar on how to help the residents of Cannibal Town understand Charlie's message when Charlie was struggling at giving her speech effectively.

Intelligence - She displays some intellectual capability and strategic thinking alongside her leadership ability. This is shown with her alliance with Alastor, as she offers him the opportunity to make a deal with a demon who cannot control their territory after hearing about it. She even saw potential in Charlie's abilities which she and Alastor think will benefit them in the future.

Leadership - As an Overlord as well as the leader of Cannibal Town, she has some leadership skills that motivate and easily control the residents of Cannibal Town, especially gaining respect from the residents, even from a difficult one; Susan.

Relations

Alastor - Alastor and Rosie are good friends. In the Hazbin Hotel comic, The Radio Demon, Alastor greets several girls in the Cannibal Colony and afterward asks them to give Rosie his regards.

Alastor describes her as a "dear, charming and dangerous" person who he loves to spend time with. It is apparent that the two get along very well, as they are subsequently seen together, and both enjoy each other's presence. It is also seen that they share several ideas together, and both are always willing to help the other. Alastor allows Rosie to touch him despite usually hating it. Rosie is aware of and doesn't mind that Alastor is asexual, despite the Radio Demon being somewhat unaware of it himself.

Their friendship is further highlighted in "Hello Rosie!", where Rosie was overjoyed to see Alastor again after his long sabbatical and stated that she missed him greatly. As shown, Rosie trusts Alastor fully and assists him when he asks her for help, with her stating that he never steered her wrong before.

Rosie herself is close enough to Alastor to even assist him in acquiring more power and influence over Pentagram City, having casually and happily shared information she acquired about the weak leadership to a section of the city that he could take over with the right deal.

Later, while initially skeptical about Charlie Morningstar when Alastor brought her to get the assistance of the Cannibals to fight the Exorcists, Rosie nevertheless agreed to assist them based on Alastor's word. Later, Rosie would be delighted to see Charlie's success in winning the cannibals over and agreed with Alastor's assessment of her potential and that siding with her would be mutually beneficial for them.

Charlie - Rosie took an instant liking to Charlie upon meeting her, offering her some of her snacks and sided with her plans to get the cannibals of her town to fight against the Exterminators. She also realizes there's more to her stress than the angels, that being her relationship with Vaggie and how recent events have revealed her as a former Exorcist.

It is then that Rosie sits Charlie down and gives her advice, saying that while what Vaggie in the past was wrong, she never brought it up out of fear of what she would think of her and that it's because of Charlie herself that she wants to do better. In the end, it's thanks to her words and support that Charlie is able to forgive Vaggie.

As revealed during Ready For This, Rosie harbored some doubt in Charlie, but when she later managed to successfully convince the Cannibals to join her in her cause to protect her Hotel, Rosie was impressed and delighted by her. Along with Alastor, Rosie noted Charlie's charisma and the immense power she inherited from her father, and delightfully agreed with him on Charlie's potential and how he was right for them to take her side since it could be beneficial for them in the future.

In "The Show Must Go On", Rosie showed a big smile when she found out that the Extermination was stopped by Charlie and her friends.

Cannibals - Rosie is the leader of the cannibals of Cannibal Town, and they trust her explicitly as their leader. As shown where Rosie helps many of them who go to her Emporium for advice and assistance with dealing with their problems, with her even offering to personally assist them in solving them. Rosie herself understands the mentality of the cannibals well and knows exactly how to get them to cooperate.

Susan - As shown in "Hello Rosie!", Susan is a denizen of the Cannibal Town and is disliked by her and Alastor, with both of them describing her as an "ornery, old bitch". Rosie herself knows Susan's unpleasant personality well and that she would be the hardest of the cannibals to convince when she was coaching Charlie on how to rally the cannibals to help her defend the Hotel from the Exorcists.

Despite Rosie's dislike for her, Susan in return seems to like Rosie, at least in comparison to Charlie, as shown when she began booing at Charlie during her initial speech and demanded that Rosie come back on stage instead.

Hell

Hell is the supernatural realm of demons. It is inhabited by a population of indigenous hellborn which are demons that were born in Hell, and sinners are Humans who have died and have had their souls sent to Hell.

The atmosphere is presented as perpetually choleric, disorderly, and noxious, though capable of supporting carbon-based lifeforms. Hell's geography is divided into Seven Rings, as first revealed by the lyrics in "You Will Be Ok". Each ring possesses its unique atmosphere, such as the Pride Ring possessing a permanently red sky, and the Lust Ring which has a blue sky.

Hellborn demons have the ability to traverse across any of the rings, made easily accessible via an extensive elevator network, whereas sinner demons are confined to the top-most ring, the Pride Ring, by methods and reasons unknown.

Hell's society is incredibly chaotic due to the unstable and hostile disposition of its populace. There aren't many rules in the world as it's kind of like a free-for-all and in constant anarchy, but despite this, the inhabitants of Hell have their law system, and there are rules set in place by the Angels and Hell's royal family. The realm also appears to be capable of providing and maintaining rudimentary public services, evidenced by the appearance of firefighters in the episode "Murder Family" of Helluva Boss.

Within Hell's civilization, there exists a crude form of hierarchy[4] defined by power, with all of Hell being ruled by a king, the fallen angel Lucifer Morningstar, whose daughter and heir apparent is Princess Charlie.

The levels of this hierarchy are broken up from top-to-bottom as follows:

Lucifer, being a Fallen Angel and the King of Hell, has authority over, and is ranked separately above the others, however, with his absence, Satan fills in as the leader, showing that Satan has more influence and authority than the other five.

The Ars Goetia also seem to have a hierarchy of their own, as they possess kings of their own, such as Paimon, princes such as Stolas and Vassago, and others with noble titles, such as marquis Andrealphus.

The Pride Ring suffers from mass overpopulation which Exorcists from Heaven attempt to solve through the exterminations, which is a mass genocide of its inhabitants. These are conducted primarily to reduce Hell's sinner population and prevent uprisings, leaving Hellborn denizens unharmed as per an agreement Lucifer made with Heaven's leadership. Charlie aims to stop this by giving sinners a chance to rehabilitate and redeem themselves by checking into her hotel and later ascending to Heaven.

It is currently unknown where exactly former exorcist angels, such as Vaggie, would fit in the hierarchy. History

Thousands of years ago, after Lucifer gave humanity free will by offering Eve the Fruit of Knowledge, because of this, Hell was accidentally created when evil entered into the Earth. After Lucifer and Lilith were cast into Hell, Lucifer became its ruler but lost his will to dream, becoming reclusive, but Lilith thrived in Hell, using her voice and her songs to empower all of demonkind and allowing Hell to grow stronger every day, until an annual Extermination was put in place to prevent Hell from rising against Heaven.

The origins of Hellborn Demons and Seven Deadly Sins are completely unknown as of now, however, Satan has claimed to have created imp-kind to be obedient.

At some point a hierarchy was set to distinguish demons based on status. Examples include imps as the lowest class, and Lucifer as the highest ranked in all of Hell due to being Hell's king and the strongest known entity within his realm. Rules & Law Enforcement

Despite its chaotic environment, Hell has laws and rules of its own known as "demon law". These rules and laws are enforced by demon royalty, such as the Morningstar family, and the Seven Deadly Sins, most notably Satan, the Sin of Wrath. Demons who break these laws will face trial and punishment. Known Rules and Laws

Sinners are unable to leave the Pride Ring. Sinners can advertise media outside the Pride Ring, however. Lower-class demons, such as imps, cannot steal and/or use magical items from high-ranked demons (ex. Stolas' grimoire) for undocumented personal use to travel to the human realm, even if the owner allows them to do so. The only known exception of this law is the usage of Asmodeus' Asmodean Crystals, which allows legal travel to the human realm. The assassination or assault of a member of demon royalty is illegal. Betrayal from a member of demon royalty (ex. the Ars Goetia) is considered treason. It is unknown whether a betraying royal could face a death penalty or will only receive a different punishment. Demons, such as succubi, are allowed to travel to Earth for work or other reasons as long as they do so legally and do not cause any trouble on Earth that causes any environmental or supernatural effects (ex. mutating a catfish into a giant monster). Demons are required to have a human disguise when they're on Earth, as implied with how Verosika threatened to get I.M.P in trouble and how Loona reprimanded them for going to Earth without human disguises in "Spring Broken". The only exception of this rule is on Halloween, where demons can travel to Earth without human disguises and humans believe they're in costumes. As of now, it is unknown if Sinners can face consequence for breaking demon law, as Hellborn demons are, so far, the only demons shown to face consequence. It is also unknown if the exemption of Hellborn demons from the Exterminations fit as a demon law due to it being an agreement between both Heaven and Hell.

A species of demons known as Reapers act as the law enforcers of Hell. Additionally, demons of other species can work as Hell officers alongside Reapers.

Certain laws that apply on Earth appear to apply in Hell as well, as shown in the Greed Ring in "Exes and Oohs", robbing a bank is illegal and can lead to jail time, though the specifics of jail time and the law in hell are unknown.
