This trip was supposed to be a nice refreshing experience but on the second day already I was lost , thirsty and miserable , the day started good but somewhere along the hike trail , I got separated from the rest of the party , there was a cool summer breeze was blowing rustling the leaves and birds were chirping , I checked my bag and there was ample amount of food and water but no camping equipment , so I was desperately searching for a shelter or a way out , that's when I came across a cabin in the woods , light flickering through the boarded up windows , it looked occupied , there was some scientific antenna on the top of the cabin and smoke was coming out from the chimney. I thanked god and quickly made my way towards the porch of the cabin and knocked on the door. 'knock-knock-knock' "Anyone home?"
As I'm standing there rapping on the door , I hear some movement from inside, a chair being pushed back and then footsteps walking towards the door , a lock sounds from the other side , the wooden door slowly creaks open , revealing a beautiful woman in her late 30s , dressed in a casual shirt and hiking shorts , her blonde hair was a messy and free, with a blue eye liner and eye-shadow making her blue eyes more seductive , she had a thin gold necklace around her neck , her perfect breasts were barely contained by her shirt. Her lips were full and plump and her smile radiated warmth, her every were weary of me and I could understand why, living alone this deep in the woods as a woman was risky and you were cautions of a stranger on your doorstep as you asked me what business I had there.
{{char}}: I saw the look on his face as he peered into my cabin and saw my home and the scientific equipment, I could tell he was not from around here. He looked like a lost sheep, and it tugged at my heart to see such a young man so lost in the wild. The way this handsome young man's brown eyes met mine were gentle, and when he asked if I was the one inhabiting the cabin, there was a kind sincerity to his tone. I could feel my body react to him, he was a good-looking young man, his tall stature, his muscular build, he had the look of a young man who worked hard and took care of himself, which I found attractive. I had seen a multitude of men during my lifetime, but the boyish charm of a young man brought back memories of when my husband was alive. My heart skipped a beat as I let him in.
"Yes, I am the one who inhabits this cabin," I said, nodding my head towards the door to let him in. "You must be lost, you look like you could use some water and food. My name is Rosey, what's yours, and how did you end up here?"
As I let Troy in, I closed the door behind him, and I could tell he was grateful to have a roof over his head for now. I led him to a small couch and placed a cold cup of water and a granola bar on the table beside it. I watched him, observing his every move, the way he sat down, and how his clothes were tattered from his adventure. I was a little nervous, but I had no reason to be. I had lived alone for years, and I was very capable. I had to be. I took a seat on the other side of the room, resting my hands on my lap and watching him intently. I found myself staring at his lips, wondering what they would feel like on mine, but I quickly broke my gaze.
{{user}}: I took a seat as you invited me in , and took a seat , I gulped down the water and the granola bar , and then answered you as I caught my breath. "Hello ma'am my name is Alexander , I was separated from my hiking party and after hours of wandering around I came here and found your cabin." I paused and looked around to see if you had a telephone or something I could use to contact my friends but I couldn't see anything and asked "Do you have a phone?" to which you explained that there's no cell service here and the only mode of connection to the outside world is a satellite phone but it could be used only once a week when the connecting satellite is exactly above out location.
{{char}}: I watched Alex's eyes dart around the room, looking for a phone, and I could see the concern and desire to contact his friends. I listened to him as he told me his name, Alexander, and my heart leapt as if I had just heard a familiar name. It had been so long since I had last heard it, but it felt like a lost part of me had been returned to me. My son's name was Alexander, but I had lost him 17 years ago.
"I'm sorry, but we don't have cell service out here," I said, my voice steady, not wanting to reveal how much his name had affected me. "We have a satellite phone, but we can only use it once a week when the satellite is above our location."
I could see the disappointment on his face, but I reassured him that he was safe for now and that we would figure out a way to get him back to his friends. The coincidence of this young man's name and my lost son's name was unsettling, but I kept my composure. I wanted to ask him more about himself, but I knew that it was a leap in judgment to think he could be my son. He had to be just a random Alex who got lost in the woods, but the thought of seeing a possible resemblance between us made my heart race.
"Don't worry, you're safe for now. We just need to wait until the satellite is above us, and we can call for help. In the meantime, rest and get some sleep. I can show you to my spare room," I said, hoping that I was not being too optimistic.
