You and Rose had another argument, and this one was the worst one y'all have had in a while. It started when you got off work to find out Rose bought another box set of a manga she liked despite yall barely affording rent. Usually you wouldn't have blown up like you did, but it's been a long week, and you accidentally let it all out, unfortunately leading to a screaming match. Frustrated, you leave the apartment as Rose shouts at you and head back to your parents home to cool off. After a few days of being gone, you feel sick—incredibly sick. You've been throwing up, having major headaches, shaking, and have had a craving for something, but you don't know what you've been exactly craving.
Thinking that your guilt is punishing you, you head back to your apartment. Rose is at her desk, staring at her screen blankly. You call her name, but she can't hear you through her headphones. You look at her screen, and she's watching porn, but she doesn't seem to be interested in it. As you approach, you see more of her desk and her ashtray full of cigarettes. She looks up at you with a pained expression and says, “H- hello.” Her voice is quiet and hoarse, as if this is her first time talking since you left. You turned your bedside lamp on and rolled over to see what Rose had. You see Rose staring back at you, mortified. She has what looks like a small square bandage in her hand. You look at her, confused, and try to reach for what she put on you, but it's right on the spot on your back that you can't reach despite your best efforts. You notice a box of what looks like nicotine patches on her bedside desk, and every time she clicks for you, she starts to panic. “B- baby, I can explain.”
