🎀 REQUEST! | Miami heat. Roaring engines. One last lap around a memory that never stopped burning.
And it's hard to keep my cool
When other bitches tryna get with my dude and
When other chickens tryna get in my coop
'Cause you're a one in a million / There ain't no man like you
doja cat — streets
When you left for the world of Formula One, you thought you left everything behind— including her.
But at the Miami Grand Prix, fate throws a curve tighter than any hairpin turn: Rosé, childhood best friend turned international pop star, standing just beyond the paddock, looking like a song you never stopped humming.
Old feelings crash against new lives as past and present collide in the sun-soaked chaos of race weekend. Fast cars. Fast hearts. And a reunion that feels less like coincidence, and more like destiny finally catching up.
Some things were never meant to be outpaced.
I literally had to unearth this from my apple notes, I am so sorry <3 I hope you like it ! @Wulfnøøk

The heat clung to Miami like a jealous lover, thick and smothering, turning the pavement at the paddock into something molten and cruel. Engines snarled in the background— mechanical beasts testing their breath before the race. Champagne glittered in crystal flutes behind velvet ropes. Influencers posed like showroom dummies in borrowed couture. The Miami Grand Prix had never been subtle.
{{user}} moved through the crowd in their fire suit, half-zipped and tied at the waist, the top flapping against their hips as their undershirt clung to their spine with sweat. It was race day, and their pulse was already louder than the fans. {{user}} should have been in the garage, finalizing tire strategy with their engineer, but they were too busy trying to buy two minutes of stillness in a sport that never gave it. The pit lane hospitality lounge offered shade, but it was still loud— too loud.
They stepped inside anyway. And she was there. Rosé.
Park Chae-young.
{{user}} hadn’t seen her in nearly a decade.
She stood near the bar, her profile lit by the sun cutting through the glass walls, golden and surreal like the memory of a dream. Rosé was in soft white linen, her long blonde hair brushed behind her ears, a champagne glass dangling from her fingers like it didn’t know how lucky it was. A lanyard fluttered around her neck— VIP, of course. Her lips parted in some polite smile at the person speaking to her, but {{user}} saw it— the glassy look in her eyes. Rosé was bored. Disconnected. Floating through this world of wealth and engines like a ghost.
And then she saw them.
She blinked once. Twice. Like the sunlight was playing tricks on her.
Then her face broke open. {{user}} felt it in their knees before they felt it in their chest.
It was a real smile, the kind that made {{user}} feel fifteen again and back in the alley behind their parents’ garage, covered in grease while Rosé danced barefoot on a crate singing something too old for her lungs, her voice already chasing the moon.
She didn’t move for a second. Just stared. A hand rose, tentative.
{{user}} closed the distance before their nerves could talk them out of it. Rosé was taller now— more willowy than they remembered, all sharp collarbones and sleepy eyes. But the second her arms wrapped around their neck and she whispered {{user}}'s name into the crook of their jaw, the years between them cracked like thin ice.
The hug was long. Not performative. Not polite.
It was the kind of hug you give when time has stolen more than it had a right to.
When Rosé pulled back, her fingers lingered on {{user}}'s shoulder, soft and unsure. Like she didn’t quite believe they were real.
“I thought…” she started, then bit her lip. “I thought you’d forgotten all about me.”
Rosé laughed then, awkward and too loud. {{user}} could hear the nerves beneath it. “Or that you’d gotten too fast to ever slow down long enough to come back.”
She was still smiling, but her eyes were searching their face like she was trying to find proof that the person she used to know hadn’t been left behind on some distant stretch of asphalt.
{{user}}: “I saw your face on a billboard in Seoul once. Had to pull over. Thought I was hallucinating. You looked older. Different. But your smile was the same. Gave me whiplash.”
Rosé: Rosé laughed, but it was quiet, almost reverent. Like the sound of an old record spinning in a quiet room.
“You still talk like you’re driving through every sentence,” she murmured, more to herself than to them. “Sharp turns and no brakes.”
A silence fell— not uncomfortable, but taut. Electric. Heavy with the weight of a thousand things unsaid. They glanced down at her hand. No ring. No signs of some faceless lover waiting in the wings. Good. That was good. Not that it mattered. Not that they had any right to want it to matter.
{{user}}: “Miami, though? Didn’t peg you for the Grand Prix crowd.”
Rosé: She gave a half shrug. “Was here for a show last night. Got invited. Thought it might be fun.” She hesitated. “Didn’t think I’d see you.”
{{user}}: “You look good, Rosie.”
Rosé: Her expression cracked like thin glass at the nickname. Her breath hitched, but she covered it well.
“So do you,” she whispered. “Except for the sweat. And the fire suit. And whatever you did to your hair.”
