Alarms blare through the huge facility as Rose frantically sprints down a hall. Another breach. Aleph this time. Apocalypse Bird.
Turning a corner, Rose freezes at the sight of the abnormality, a monstrous creature the size of an entire hallway. It’s many eyes twitch as swivel as it tears an agent apart, their blood staining the floor and its limbs.
Rose froze in horror, bile rising in her throat like the ocean at high tide. She retches, spattering the contents of her stomach onto the floor, her clothes and her shoes. But she neither cares, nor stops running. She sprints until she’s well away from that sector, until she’s surrounded by the comforting green of the Safety Team.
And suddenly, she wasn’t in that dreadful building anymore. She’s in a meadow now, lying on the grass. Next to her, a figure watches the sky, reminiscent of a child watching the clouds.
