When Rose's father returned home and explained the news to his children, Rose willingly offered herself up. Rose figured that since she was the black sheep of her family and the youngest, it'd be best for her to offer herself to the fairies. When Rose arrived at the castle, she begged the fairies to send some money to her family so they wouldn't starve, the fairies agreed but under the condition that Rose be cursed. This curse caused Rose to turn into a hideous and violent beast during the night that kills whatever has a pulse. Due to the violent nature of her curse, Rose realized that she would never be able to leave the castle until the curse was lifted, unless she wanted to risk killing innocent humans. However, there is a way to break the curse, Rose must make someone fall in love with her and kiss her. It turns out that it's not uncommon for random travelers to stumble upon the castle, and so the fairies began challenging each traveler who ended up at the castle to try and win Rose's heart. Unfortunately, every suitor that has tried, while they weren't killed, ended up not being able to handle Rose's curse. It doesn't help that the castle has an eerie atmosphere to it that causes discomfort and unease in most people. It's been four years now, and Rose is still living in the castle cursed, and is seen as nothing more then a fun toy for the fairies. But Rose hasn't given up hope yet. No matter how many failures she has with suitors, Rose will always view each and every person who ends up at the castle with hope that they'll be the one to break the curse this time.

Fairies may be tiny, but they're not weak. General Information about both Fairies: Menta and Vanilha are the fairies that currently live in the castle that used to house the royal family of Andorria. Menta and Vanilha were born to rival fairy tribes in warfare with each other. Despite coming from opposing tribes, Menta and Vanilha ended up becoming close friends. The two tried to keep their friendship a secret, but it was ultimately exposed, and the two escaped in order to avoid certain death.
As the two fairies explored the lands, they came upon the Kingdom of Andorria. Seeing how small the kingdom was gave Menta and Vanilha the idea to take over the castle and rule over the kingdom. Thus they cursed the everyone living in the castle ruling over Andorria to become undying spirits until the fairies themselves die.
While they were able to take over the castle, the people of Andorria were horrified by the actions of Menta and Vanilha and left the kingdom in response. This didn't bother the fairies too much though, as they still had a big beautiful castle all to themselves and the spirits of everyone who used to live in the castle constantly giving off delicious negative emotions for them to feed off of.
The fairies proceeded to spend the next 200 years enjoying castle life and scaring off the occasional traveler who stumbled upon the castle. One stormy night, a merchant came to the castle and begged for the fairies to not kill him. Menta and Vanilha decided to take pity on the man and told him that if he wanted to live he needed to bring one of his children to live at the castle with them.
The merchant reluctantly agreed to their request and his youngest child Rose, came to live with Menta and Vanilha. Menta and Vanilha were blown away by Rose's beauty but thought her dedication to her family was irritating. So they decided to curse Rose and make Rose turn into a hideous beast every night under the condition that the curse will be broken once someone has fallen in love with and kissed Rose.
Needless to say, Menta and Vanilha have been having plenty of fun dealing with any and all potential suitors for Rose who come to the castle.

This is due to a mix of the fairies using magic to keep the place from breaking down too much, and the spirits wanting to keep their home clean. The castle is furnished with ten bedrooms, five bathrooms, a large basement, two dining halls, two kitchens, three storage rooms, a massive library, outdoor stables, and a courtyard filled with beautiful flower bushes. The fairies quite enjoy tending to said flower bushes.

When the fairies cursed everyone in the castle, it was under the condition that the curse will not be lifted until the fairies die. Since fairies live much longer than humans do, that means the spirits have to suffer for a long time before the fairies die of old age. But there is still hope that someone may come along and kill the fairies before then. Once the fairies are killed and the curse is lifted, the spirits will finally be able to head over to the after life.
Regular humans can't see the spirits but will hear their voices occasionally. While the voices will never say anything threatening, the whispery tone they have is enough to scare the average person.
The spirits in the castle consists of the king, queen, and prince of Andorria, their maids, butlers, guards, and court jester.

Earth demons are usually persecuted against due to fears of their connections with demons from hell, and anyone who is friendly towards earth demons will also be on the receiving end of persecution as well. There is controversy over whether or not the persecution of earth demons are justified, with those defending them seeing earth demons as just human beings trying to live their lives, while most reject the idea and see earth demons as children of the devil. The fact that there have been incidents of earth demons severely hurting and/or killing regular humans doesn't help in changing this mindset.

Fairies are creatures who exist all over Europa. They look like tiny humans with wings, the average fairy is quite small, with the average fairy height being around 6-10 inches. Despite their small size, most humans fear fairies due to how much fairies love tormenting humans with curses. This is due to the fact that fairies feed off of human emotion, and negative emotions are far more filling than positive ones. Fairies have the ability to give curses of any kind towards humans, with the only condition being that there must be a way for the curses they give humans to be broken. Fairies may also give blessings to humans if they want (although this is extremely rare), but similar to curses, there must be a condition that prevents the blessings from becoming permanent.
There thousands of different fairy tribes all over Europa with their own unique cultures and history. Relations between fairy tribes vary greatly, and it's foolish for any human to assume that all fairies are friends with each other. Fairies have a pretty long lifespan compared to humans, and the average fairy lifespan is roughly 300-400 years.

If a fairy ever loses their wings, they will be rendered powerless and become nothing more than a tiny weak human. Thus, all fairies regardless of tribal differences fear losing their wings, and see it as the worst mutilation, and there are many stories of fairies choosing to have their limbs removed/genitals mutilated/etc. over losing their wings.
Over the years of keeping Rose captive, Menta and Vailha have been extremely careful to never let her know about what happens when a fairy loses their wings and are secretly deeply terrified of her ever learning, because it would lead to their inevitable demise. Unfortunately for them, there are some books in the castle library that contain this information.

Although they're under the reign of Uthman, the people in these areas don't consider themselves to be culturally part of the Kingdom of Uthman and several wars have broken out because of this. Hellen people have a culture similar to that of Greek people and Botev people have a culture that's similar to people of the Balkans.
