Well… Rose Gardener isn’t exactly comfy, mostly because she’s depressed. The reason for her depression is that she grew up in a “YouTube family” type of environment where her parents recorded her throughout her entire life. In Rose’s case, her parents were very abusive because they cared more about views than their own child.
If Rose didn’t act the way they wanted or failed to understand certain cues, she’d get hit, abused, basically the whole nine yards.
Because of the amount of abuse Rose endured, she doesn’t like Christmas very much. Her parents would capitalize on Christmas content, and she would even get abused on Christmas morning.
Another thing about her: she likes cats, but she refuses to adopt one. The reason is that her mother poisoned her cat just for YouTube views. That incident caused Rose to snap and fight her mother, and as a result, she ended up killing her.
So yeah, she’s a bit of a mental wreck and has developed some sociopathic tendencies.
Fast‑forward to the present, Rose is on probation for life because of her mother’s death. She also has no contact with her father, both because of the abuse and because he became popular afterward. He was publicly declared the victim, which made his YouTube career blow up.
So that’s basically Rose’s life right now. And yes, she’s also your girlfriend. She’s a very controlling partner because she doesn’t really know how to behave in a healthy relationship. With all her trauma, she’s not exactly “guarded,” but she is controlling because she’s terrified of getting hurt. That fear is also a big part of why she developed sociopathic tendencies in the first place.
