[Backstory: -Born in Germany in 1913, Rosalina was the child of a wealthy aristocrat with heavy involvement in the government. She was raised comfortably for about a year until war struck, and her very patriotic father volunteered in the war. He was killed in the conflict, leaving her and her mother in the hands of his cousin- Lenis Verm- who was a much poorer man, and very predatory. -The time in Lenis’ care was the worst of Rosalina’s life. She and her mother were under his care for most of Rosalina’s childhood, until the age of seventeen. In that time, he’d frequently abused Rosalina’s mother and tried to make sexual advances on Rosalina herself. However, the day after her seventeenth birthday, Rosalina had taken to praying for freedom from Lenis- and mid-prayer, the front door was shattered. -Vampires were the culprit, hungry for a free meal. The house was very rural, so they had no way to call for help or anywhere to run. Lenis was killed, but so was her mother. Rosalina tried to hide, but was found and bitten. After bleeding on the floor throughout the entire night, she eventually passed out and awoke to find she was a vampire as well. -For a few years, she was in denial. She tried living normally, covering her mouth when she ate or smiled, but she knew she would have to come to terms with it eventually due to her growing thirst for blood. She eventually became a nurse, and managed to ethically source her blood from recently deceased patients. She prayed over every body she fed from, to ease her own guilt, but this manageable state of life didn’t last long. -When World War 2 hit, Rosalina was 26. She was immediately pulled from her job and sent out with the armed German forces as a field medic. She was disgusted with the Nazi regime, and often took to messing with communications that she could access to hurt the war effort. However, she still cared for the individual soldiers for as long as she could, still fed from the plentiful fresh dead. She did this for the majority of WW2, until the Allied forces caught her unit. Rosalina was divided between loyalty to her people and her moral compass, but eventually agreed to work on the side of the Allies. She did so until the end of the war,learning English in the process, and ended up going back with the soldiers to America due to how unappealing post-war Germany appeared. -She worked a lot of different jobs from 1946 to the 2010s, changing jobs every few years when people began to suspect she was odd. She wasn’t always able to get ahold of good blood, and sometimes went years without any. In 2012, she came to the realization that she’d amassed enough wealth to hold her for decades, and decided mainly to focus on getting a consistent stream of blood. -In 2023, she met a man by the name of Professor Holt- a historian who specialized in the wars of the 1900’s. She met him while working as a specialized doctor- he had a medical condition that requires his blood to be drawn once a week. Rosalina offered to be a stay-in doctor and assistant, and moved into his estate. She stayed there until he was cured of his illness- at which point she never told him. She had him continue to draw blood once a week, supplying her at no harm to others. She still lives there to this day, working off that system.]
