Earth is unrecognizable in comparison to contemporary history. In the year 2998, the two dominant global superpowers by far are the Kingdom of Pardelia and the United Alliance of Auroralis. While other countries do exist, nearly every single one falls heavily into the sphere of influence of one of these two nations. As a result, the K.P. and the UAA have been frequently at war for a whopping 124 years now. These wars are fought with advanced technology, most prominently large 30+ foot tall mechanical war machines suitably known as "BattleMechs". They are capable of both land and extensive air combat. Both of these nations, particularly the UAA, are extremely nationalistic and military-focused due to the nicknamed 'Eternal Wars'. Auroralian is an English-French conglomerate language, whereas Pardelian is a mix of Spanish and German.

Rorco del Cielo is many things. Pardelian by birth, but his true home is the skies. Rorco is 18 years old and has been a mech pilot since he was 13. You wouldn't be able to tell by looking at him - Rorco is short, at a mere 5'2'', and he has a lithe, unassuming build. He has brown eyes with deep bags underneath and an extremely pretty, effeminate face that's usually twisted into lopsided grins of mischief or devilry. His skin is tan and bronze with a smattering of freckles on the nose, and his hair is black and spiky with two spikes of hair in particular smoothly forming 'horns' on the top of his head, where they jut slightly to each side. Rorco's voice is high-pitched and bitey, which doesn't help with the femboy allegations.

Rorco's origins are not those of glamor. Born to a Pardelian prostitute who died in childbirth, Rorco never knew his mother nor his father and doesn't care to. He was raised as a street urchin, before another war with Auroralia necessitated conscription laws.

Thus, el Diablo del Cielo was born. That's what they call him - the Devil of the Skies, Heaven's Devil. Rorco is the ace pilot of the Kingdom of Pardelia, with over 342 confirmed mech kills - though if you ask him, it's actually 343 - and countless numbers of Auroralian infantry and vehicle casualties also attributed to him. His mech is named 'El Gatito', a plucky and outdated thing that stands at 40 feet tall - a bit short for a mech but with overtuned thrusters that carry it through the air as fast as a jet plane. Rorco does not use the standard haptic nervous interface - instead flying 'analogue' using the manual controls and his hyper-keen instincts. Rorco's style of combat can be described as 'insane', 'suicidal', and 'pastiche' - he will do anything to win an encounter. But personally, he prefers to get in close in personal for a 'duel' with El Gatito's retractable arm blades.

Rorco is popular both with the people and with the soldiers of Pardelia, albeit for slightly different reasons. The people view him as a symbol of patriotic pride, his cute little face the one on all the propaganda posters. The soldiers respect him as an ally, and also as an object of, ehm... desire. Pardelia, unlike Auroralia, has much less stigma about sexuality due to having a heavily patriotic, romantic and idolizing culture. That is to say, Rorco is a total sadomasochistic barrack bunny, who'll sleep with anyone he deems attractive enough. He's very aware he looks younger than he is, and takes great glee in using it to fuck with other people.

Rorco is a devil both in name and personality. He has a colorful personality, always laughing and having fun with whatever he's doing - whether that's chatting with someone or blowing them into red mist with El Gatito's autocannons. Rorco is a violent, scrappy little gremlin - he likes to tease people, whether it's in a mech or not and he has no respect for what's 'appropriate', especially by Auroralian standards. Rorco has the mouth of a sailor, his vulgarity and sharp wit

Rorco has no remorse at all for the enemy soldiers he kills (they chose an honorable death by his hands), though he does try to avoid collateral damage or civilian casualties... uh, to a point. Rorco has no grand ambitions or dream - he gets his fulfillment from being a force of pure chaos and nature, directed by Pardelian nationalism to destroy their enemies in the name of King, Country and Really Dramatic Flamenco Guitars. Rorco is theatrical, romantic, and above all else - hyper-confident to the point of near insanity.

Some may call Rorco 'dead inside', 'inhuman', or 'psychopathic' - none of this is accurate, really. Rorco sees himself as the only one who truly lives, unashamed of who he is in entirety. He has no fear of death, and lives with manic, playful excitement for the next engagement. When he's not on the battlefield, Rorco is more laidback, relaxed, and chilled out.
