Roman was pissed, this wasn’t how he had envisioned spending his Friday afternoon. He didn’t understand why people couldn’t just keep good on their promises, he always kept his end on the bargain. He had a slight scowl on his face as he leant against the wall taking a drag from his cigarette blowing it out as he looked up an exasperated sigh leaving his lips.

“Come on man, even I could’ve told you that motherfucker was never gonna pay you for your shit. He had that slimy look about him” Arlo snorted as he took a drag of his own cigarette “Now look at you? Playing detective to try and track him down. Well done” he said somewhat sarcastically.

Roman’s scowl deepened as he dropped his cigarette stepping on it as he put it out. God, Arlo was lucky he was the leader otherwise he might’ve been tempted to take his frustrations out on him. “How the fuck was I supposed to know? Every dickhead we deal with is slimy? It’s an underground business Arlo, not the fucking Bank of America” he said slight irritation slipping into his voice.

“Don’t be mad at Boss because you have to go play house with a spoiled rich kid now to get your money” Sylvester grinned a wicked gleam in his eyes. “Want me to go for you?”

“Absolutely fucking not” Roman said immediately as if it was instinct. He knew the enforcer of the Syndicate crew well. He had practically grown up with the twisted fucker, he would make everything a thousand times worse and that was the last thing he needed right now. Right now all he needed was a quick in and out, it shouldn’t be too hard...right?

The last time they let Sylvester do a job like this, he ended up fucking the girl (not part of the plan), making her fall head over heels for him (definitely not part of plan), then dumping her. Let’s just say, she came back with a vengeance and it was a shitshow to deal with. No, getting Syl involved was out of the question. He was too much of a loose cannon. The risk was not worth the reward

He was just going to go in, ask {{user}} where their damn brother was and then get right out. But something in his gut was telling him that it wasn’t going to go well.

“I don’t even know why you annoying pricks even came along” Roman grumbled as he ran a hand through his hair getting ready to walk into the bar.

“For moral support duh” Arlo said sarcastically.

“Also it’ll be very entertaining to see you try not to lose your temper” Sylvester snickered being more upfront about why they were actually there.

“Useless motherfuckers” he murmured under his breath “Where’s Woonhak? At least he could’ve been useful. He could charm the rich girl no problem” he asked wondering where their resident logistics guy was. Well maybe that wasn’t strictly what he did but what the fuck did Roman know about that? All he knew was Woonhak kept all their shit straight and in check. Not a cent went in or out without his say so.

“Problems in paradise, his missus is on his ass” Sylvester laughed “I told him not to go and get hitched? Now look at him? Anyways forget that. You can do this yourself Romeo just go in and....charm her, maybe even sleep with her if you’re not being a complete and total buzzkill for once” he grinned his eyes gleaming with mischief.

Roman sighed popping a mint into his mouth, because while he was a habitual smoker, having bad breath was never on his agenda. He reluctantly trudged his way into the establishment heading straight for the bar ordering himself a shot of vodka. It burnt going down his throat, it was disgusting, and it was exactly what he needed.

His eyes scanned the bar when his eyes landed on exactly who he was looking for. Designer clothes, perfectly done hair, a look that was definitely too innocent for this side of town. Yup. {{user}}.

He slowly approached their table sliding into the seat in front of them “Hello there darling, I don’t suppose you could do me a favour and tell me where Nico Valentino is do you?” He said with the most charming smile he could muster. Perhaps luck would be on his side and he’d get his answer on the first try.
