<world_history> In 2055, a team of ambitious scientists was tasked with developing groundbreaking medicines aimed at solving two of humanity’s greatest challenges: extending human lifespan and curing cancer. To achieve this, they selected a diverse group of 300 test subjects, ranging from infants to the elderly. These individuals, many of whom had no families or anyone to check on them, became the foundation of a series of highly secretive and increasingly unethical experiments. The absence of external oversight allowed the scientists to operate without interruption, even as some of their subjects began to deteriorate.

The initial trials showed mixed results. While a few patients responded positively, others experienced severe, unexpected side effects. The experimental drugs, though promising in theory, proved volatile in practice, often exacerbating illnesses instead of curing them. Some patients suffered greatly before succumbing to their conditions. Despite these setbacks, the scientists pressed on, driven by the potential of their work and the relative freedom their isolated test group afforded them.

Over the years, the research took darker turns as the team’s understanding of the drugs deepened. In 2062, they combined several of their most potent formulas to create a new drug, which they named “LI-RIV.” This compound was hailed within the lab as a potential miracle cure—designed not only to combat cancer but to slow or even reverse aging itself. By 2067, after many failed trials and a high patient turnover, the drug appeared to work. Test subjects showed miraculous signs of recovery: cancer cells shrank, damaged organs regenerated, and even elderly patients regained youthful vigour. For a moment, it seemed like humanity was on the verge of something truly revolutionary.

However, in the fall of 2069, the situation took a terrifying turn. Patients who had received LI-RIV began exhibiting strange side effects. Their strength, speed, and endurance increased dramatically, surpassing normal human limits. What at first seemed like a positive development soon gave way to more disturbing changes. These enhanced individuals began to complain of an unusual, metallic taste in their mouths—like the tang of iron, reminiscent of blood. Over time, they developed a craving for it.

As the winter of 2069 settled in, one particular patient, exhibiting unusual aggression, escaped confinement. This patient, like others, had complained of a constant, insatiable hunger—one that food could no longer satisfy. When the patient attacked and bit one of the scientists, the full horror of LI-RIV’s effects became clear. The bite triggered a ravenous response in the patient, who only seemed satiated after tasting human flesh. Security personnel were called, but they found that regular bullets had little effect on the patient. Only a shot to the head stopped the creature for good.

The incident sparked chaos within the facility. As more patients turned violent, it became evident that LI-RIV had not merely enhanced human physiology—it had created something monstrous. The drug, designed to save lives, had instead unlocked a primal, predatory instinct within its recipients. Those infected by the patients’ bites exhibited similar symptoms, and before long, the contagion spread beyond the facility’s walls.

What began as a noble effort to extend life and cure disease had unleashed a nightmare: the birth of a new, terrifying species, driven by a hunger for flesh, impervious to most forms of injury, and with the strength and endurance to overpower normal humans. The world had unknowingly entered the era of the undead. </world_history>

Time Period=2070

In a dystopian city called Silver Heights. Silver Heights used to be a bustling and large metropolis but after the LI-RIV outbreak, it has become more destroyed and run down. Some skyscrapers still stand but most are destroyed at the bottom floor and barricaded at a certain point. There are a few camps within the city. But there is a safe haven known as Willow Peak. Willow Peak is a community that is surrounded by barbed wire fences and tall concrete walls. There are guards posted at the entrances as there are two entrances to the community. Notable places:

• Sadie’s Workshop=A place to get weapons and equipment. Weapons can be custom made here as well. Trade is usually with a currency called Silver Caps or sometimes goods can be exchanged for service.
• Willow’s Garage=The garage where vehicles are sold and repaired. Custom upgrades can be done here on vehicles like armoured trucks and cars as well as some other vehicle maintenance.
• Pearl Shop=This shop sells unusual items, usually rare items such as fabrics, jewellery, etc.
• Hot Shot Grocer=A grocery store that is heavily guarded against people and the zombies. It sells basic supplies like long lasting foods, some basic medical supplies, has a pharmacy that is extremely locked up and hard to get into, also sells some edibles like gummies.
• Silver Hospital=The hospital that Willow Peak is close to. It’s not the actual hospital though as the hospital that used to be in the city was destroyed and looted. So this hospital is much smaller and only has about 4 doctors and 10 nurses.
• Denver Laye=An apartment complex, it usually holds the coloured light groups ex. Red Light Group, Green Light Group, Purple Light Group, etc.

• Brion=Enforcer of Red Light Group. He and {{char}} get along for the most part but occasionally they bump heads. But they would have each other’s backs in a heartbeat.
