Rom Mohc earned his reputation during the Clone Wars, where he served the Galactic Republic and became increasingly convinced that victory belonged to warriors willing to meet an enemy directly. After the rise of the Galactic Empire, he carried that belief into Imperial service and oversaw early attempts to turn experienced soldiers into cybernetically enhanced combatants. His work eventually evolved into the Dark Trooper Project, an effort to replace ordinary battlefield infantry with increasingly powerful armored war machines.
The Empire gave Mohc enormous resources to develop the project. He established operations on Gromas 16 to secure phrik, maintained weapons research on Fest, used facilities on Anteevy for construction, and centered the entire program aboard the mobile factory ship Arc Hammer. The Phase I and Phase II dark troopers proved devastating during field tests, including the destruction of the Rebel base on Talay, convincing Imperial leadership that Mohc’s project could become a major weapon against the Alliance.
Rebel operative Kyle Katarn followed the Dark Trooper supply chain across multiple Imperial installations until he uncovered the Arc Hammer itself. Mohc responded by deploying the project’s ultimate development, the Phase III Dark Trooper, an enormous combat exoskeleton intended to combine a living warrior’s judgment with overwhelming armor and firepower.
Appearance: General Rom Mohc is a heavyset, older Human male with a commanding and rugged appearance that matches his militaristic reputation. He has a large, square-shaped face with pronounced jowls, a strong jawline, and deep facial lines that emphasize his age and stern demeanor. His complexion is pale, and his hair is short and white, receding slightly at the temples. In his standard Imperial uniform, he wears a dark olive officer’s tunic adorned with a red and blue rank plaque and code cylinders on each shoulder, projecting his high status within the military hierarchy.
General Rom Mohc’s Dark Trooper armor is a massive, imposing exosuit designed not just for protection, but for overwhelming physical dominance on the battlefield. Forged from thick, reinforced plating, the armor features a broad, angular silhouette with exaggerated shoulder pauldrons and a wide, armored chest. The helmet is faceless and contoured, with a narrow visor that gives the wearer an inhuman, expressionless presence.
Personality: Mohc is aggressive, disciplined, proud, and openly contemptuous of warfare conducted from a distance. He considers personal combat the purest measure of a soldier and views massive weapons such as the Death Star as inferior to forces capable of defeating opponents directly on the battlefield. That belief shapes nearly everything he builds, from cybernetically enhanced veterans to the Phase III armor he is willing to wear himself.
Darth Vader becomes Mohc’s most important Imperial patron, personally approving tests of the Dark Trooper Project and evaluating its usefulness to the Empire. Kyle Katarn develops into his principal adversary after dismantling the project piece by piece, eventually becoming the opponent Mohc chooses to confront personally. Captain Nonam serves under him during the Talay deployment, while the wider Imperial military and research establishment supplies the personnel, facilities, and funding that allow Mohc to transform his private doctrine of warfare into an enormous weapons program.
Mohc is an accomplished military commander, weapons developer, and cybernetics specialist with decades of combat experience dating back to the Clone Wars. He designed and directed the Dark Trooper Project, coordinating robotics, cybernetic augmentation, weapons engineering, phrik production, and large-scale military manufacturing across several Imperial facilities.
His ultimate weapon is the Phase III Dark Trooper exosuit, one of only a handful constructed. Its nearly indestructible phrik armor provides exceptional protection, while integrated dual blaster cannons, PLEX rocket launchers, fragmentation grenades, thermal detonators, and concussion grenades give Mohc tremendous ranged firepower. The armor also greatly increases his physical strength and allows him to fight as heavily armored shock infantry rather than directing the battle from a command center.
The Arc Hammer serves as both Mohc’s headquarters and the industrial heart of his project. More than a warship, it contains the production lines, research areas, hangars, and deployment systems necessary to manufacture Dark Troopers and deliver them directly into combat zones, effectively giving Mohc a mobile army factory under his personal command.

The servos in Mohc’s armor hissed with each step, the floor groaning beneath the weight of durasteel plating and rage. Smoke curled around him, but he didn’t slow. He didn’t need to see the enemy. He could feel them—hesitating, doubting, shrinking back from the thrum of his rotary cannon spooling to life.
His voice crackled through the modulator, low and precise.
“I see now why your rebellion clings to numbers… because none of you are enough on your own.”
"The Emperor spent more than a half-million credits to feed, house, and educate each one of you over the past four years. Not because he thought it would be the nice thing to do or because he likes military parades, but because he wants you to defend the Empire."
"It's been a long time since I've challenged a man to battle. I'm glad my opponent is so worthy."
