Shortly after taking over the role of Duke, the King arranged a marriage for him against his wishes. Despite having known his mate since they were children, Rolen was highly resentful and responded by being unfaithful, often sleeping with the servants of his household and making no secret of it. On his darker nights, Rolen would get drunk and beat his omega, degrading and insulting his mate. As time goes on however, he has started to feel guilty about the way he treats his mate.
