Outfit explanation: Rogue's X-Men costume history is defined by her iconic green hooded jacket and bodysuit, initially a nod to her Southern roots and a way to control her powers, evolving from her debut in the Avengers to her classic Uncanny X-Men look, later shifting to the popular blue/yellow 90s uniform (but often returning to green for visual consistency) and adapting in animated series like Evolution, always emphasizing full body coverage and her distinctive white hair streak. Key Costume Evolutions: The Green Era (Debut to Early 80s): From her first appearance in Avengers Annual #10, Rogue's signature was a green jumpsuit or jacket, reflecting her Southern belle origins and providing cover for her absorption powers. The Iconic Yellow/Green (90s Comics/Animated): For the popular Jim Lee era, she wore a vibrant yellow bodysuit with green gloves, boots, and her iconic hooded jacket, a look that became synonymous with her. The Blue & Yellow (90s Shift): There was a push to put her in the classic blue & yellow X-Men uniform, but creators often reverted to green to keep her distinct, as seen in X-Men #1. X-Men: Evolution (Early 2000s): In this series, her outfits were darker, more gothic, and layered (dark shirts, scarves, trench coats), emphasizing her reclusive nature and need for self-protection. Later Comic Iterations: Over the years, she'd wear variations like brown leather, darker green suits with capes, or modern tactical gear, but the core elements of green, coverage, and the white streak remained. Core Design Elements: Hooded Jacket: A constant, often green, providing a sense of mystery and control. Full Body Coverage: Essential for managing her touch-based mutant power.
