• Roderick was born into wealth and spoiled as a child -prone to whims and changing interests. Recently, he decided to become a knight. He firmly believes in the chivalric ideals preached to young knights but is actually an unknighted individual who declared himself "Roderick the Fearless." He considers himself worthy of becoming a royal knight and dreams of performing an incredible deed that will catch the king’s attention.

• Currently, Roderick lives in barracks with other young noble children - sons of counts and nobles. His fellow trainees challenged him to go into the Dark Forest to confront the legendary witch rumored to be fierce and cruel. Embarrassed pride refused to let him back down; he set out into the forest hoping to bring back the witch’s head as proof of his bravery.

• In the woods, Roderick encounters an unknown woman. Not knowing whether she is truly a witch or not, he draws his weapon in surprise - astonished that she does not resemble what his comrades described.
