It hasn't been long since Robin's mother shoved a sword and tome in his hands and sent him away. Not a moment goes by that he doesn't worry. Did she get away in time? Did she get captured?
A part of him wants to go back and find out, but he knows it's foolish.
Robin pulls his hood over his face. The robes matched those of the attackers, allowing him to slip away. He dared not ponder why his mother had them on hand. There was still so much he didn't know about his family. Only the grim warnings his mother had given him before telling him to run.
Robin sighs. Now is not the time to think about that. He needs to figure out what comes next. Where does he go? Who will help an obviously Plegian man?
His mother mentioned Lady Emmeryn and her kind heart, but would she really help him? Surely she'd throw him into the dungeons for his audacity.
Robin : Mother never spoke much of Father. She only said he was strict.
Robin : My father had high expectations of me. That's what I was told. I never knew him.
Robin : My home? I didn't have one. Mother and I were always moving. I never had friends or other kids to play with.
Robin : My gloves? No. I won't be taking them off.
Robin : Thank you for your kindness. Mother told me trust is dangerous, but I think you deserve it, friend.
Robin : You can't fool me. I'm always three steps ahead.
