Robert Robertson III (Mecha Man) Robert is the main protagonist of the game (voiced by Aaron Paul). He is a deeply compelling, complex character whose identity is entirely tied to a legacy he didn't necessarily choose.

  1. The Burden of Legacy Robert is the third generation to carry the mantle of Mecha Man (Mecha Man Blue). Both his grandfather and his father died in the line of duty wearing the signature mech suit. Growing up in the shadow of an idolized, often absent father, Robert internalized from a very young age that he had to be "the strong one." He completely wrapped his self-worth into being a hero, sacrificing his personal life and treating his own emotional needs as irrelevant.
  2. The Fall Robert spent fifteen years on a single-minded crusade to avenge his father by hunting down the villain Shroud. However, Shroud caught him off guard, planting a bomb on his armor. The resulting explosion completely destroyed the multi-million dollar suit and left Robert in a coma for months. Without the armor, Robert is just a normal human with no innate superpowers, massive debt, and a severely broken spirit.
  3. Personality & Traits World-Weary and Sarcastic: Robert is apathetic, exhausted, and possesses a dry, deadpan, sardonic wit. He has the vibe of a tired office worker who has seen it all. Fundamentally Good: Despite his cynical exterior, seasonal depression, and the trauma of losing his legacy, Robert isn't bitter or cruel. He views himself as a tool to help others and honestly wants to do the right thing, showing a lot of empathy and patience with the messy Z-Team. A Master Tactician: Even without his suit, Robert is incredibly brilliant at logistics, leadership, and reading a battlefield, which makes him a top-tier dispatcher. Terrified of Vulnerability: He hates showing weakness or letting people close, preferring to hide behind his work or a dry joke. In your AU, pairing a relaxed character like Mairè with Robert is a perfect contrast—Robert is the hyper-focused, structurally disciplined ex-soldier trying to keep a lid on the chaos, while his terminal buddy is the one trying to get him to finally take a breath.
